    Hullo! I just discovered your channel today and i love it! You deserve way more subscribers! My parents are debating on wether they want me to have a chinchilla or not and they said the more I know the better my chance! My dad is going to help me build a cage so less cost! We have a great spot on our back porch area (not outside, kinda like a greenhouse but more like a room with a lot of windows and freezing back there!) and we're gonna put it there! Anyhoo, i love your channel and your chinchillas!

    I just got another male chinchilla around the same age as the other one and let them play the first day he got home, it surprisingly went great I never had any problems with them and in a week or so they were already in each other’s cage without having all new things. Seems kind of too good to be true so I’m kind of just waiting for there to be a problem. They are eating together, grooming each other and sleeping together, but I’m still keeping a close eye on them.

    In February, I got a second chinchilla. We put them together to play and went fine. The next day, my first chinchilla attacked the new one, they won't stop fighting. We have them in 2 separate cages divided by a plexiglass wall. They don't seem upset about that, but whenever they are able to reach each other, they fight again. I don't know what to do, if anyone knows and could help me, that would be wonderful!

      no, you do not need another chinchilla for your current one. unless you don't spend enough time with them or give them enough exercise :) hope this helps

    When you switched them in between their cages so they could get used to each other’s scent. Did you clean their cage before doing so? Or you left it the way it was?

    What's best for me? I have a female that is 1 yr, 6mths. And another female aprox. 3yrs, 2mths. They dont hate each other, they have never tried to spray. I tried a method where one chin is in a small cage them the other chin is playing around. I do switch them. But they seemed more aggressive then when I have them out at the same time. The only time they wanna bite is when there face to face. Otherwise they dont care what's around them. Any help please? (I have a 2 story mid west critter cage split in half. Then everyday I swap them into eachothers cage.)

    The bonding process is too complex. I have two females older than 3-4yrs. One has been alone since baby and the other has been with a male and breeded but started bullying the male. Now I have them one on top and the other on the bottom of this same cage. Been switching, been letting them see esch other from upclose but still they act nervously like wanting to get close to each other (to bite?) 🤔 wish everyone luck with the bondings. And never give up imho.

    • @ayden1560
      @ayden1560 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jenny Schulze but I heard 2 males bond better than 2 females. I wouldnt get a male and bond with my female because it’s too expensive to get it neutered.

      @jennyschulze9349 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ayden1560 This may be the case, but I've heard of many people with female chinchilla groups, I guess it depends on the characters :)

    • @ayden1560
      @ayden1560 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jenny Schulze the chinchilla I have now isn’t aggressive at all, but she hates being picked up which I understand. She’s never purposely bit and drawn blood from me. Also my chinchilla is 1 year old.

    • @jennyschulze9349
      @jennyschulze9349 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ayden1560 sounds like a very nice chinchilla. I think you should consider getting another chinchilla, if you have enough time and space, when your chinchilla is atleast 2 years old, because she may be still in her 'puberty'. This can cause that your chinchilla behaves different and that it can get harder to bond another chinchilla (especially because it should be as old as your chinchilla)

    Hi so both of my chinchillas are rescues and I'm working on bonding them rn. I got roo 2 years ago from a neglectful home and she wasn't around people are chinchillas for her entire life. She is about 4 now and it took a while for us to bond but now we are inseparable. I decided to adopt a second chinchilla and we brought her home yesterday. She is about 6 who we rescued from a chinchilla hoarding situation but Mipha is very used to other chins due to wear she is from. Since i cant find the bottom piece of the ferreit nation i have to completely separate the cages i went ahead and just putting mipha on the bottom and roo on the top and had planned on switching them every day. I did cover the opening but instead flipped it around so they can still see ech other through the wire bottom. When they met for the first time last week (the rescue arranges play dates before adoption) mipha didn't care too much about roo but roo was very interested in her and over the span of the 3 minutes they were together roo nipped mipha once. We decided to take mipha home regardless yesterday and so far they seem fine. Roo is still way more interested in mipha. Shes acting alout like louise did in the video. Me and mipha definalty aren't bonded since mipha is a very shy little girl so it has been difficult when I've had to move them around. I did let mipha out for playtime tho last night. I was hesitant to do so because it was her first day home but she was watching roo run around and she seemed to wanna come out so i let her. Now today they both seem very calm. Roo is definalty still curious about her but so far both are fine. they are both around the same size and around the same agish (we don't really know roos age except that shes young). Do you think this bond will work out?

      Honestly I’m
      Not a binder or anything but since you have said they haven’t going by except for a little nip I think they will! Excpeiclaly bc ur one chinchilla is shy so she probably doesn’t want to hurt anyone anyways :)
