Miku running towards that huge red tower really isn't a metaphor lol! Last played Nov 2021 on the covid livestream. They had a blast with it too - Saiki turned and sang the lyrics to Kanami who was grinning like a loon!
I'm glad the Maids got this one out of their system early in their career. Their song writing and performing abilities have grown FAR beyond the need for ED supplements ! Their reputation "stands" on it's own ! ❤😲
This song rocks musically and the guitar just blisters! They did a live okyu-ji of it in 2021 and I believe they also performed it in on one of their spinoffs this year.
Akane's drums are a destructive force in this song, and mix it with that killer riff? And now you have a song that is dangerous to drive to. Cause it is not a song that promotes obeying the speed limit. Love this one.
I heard this song several times, just rocking out to that Motorhead-like opening riff and punk rock style of the music, paying absolutely zero attention to the lyrics. It wasn't until I saw a comment on a reaction video mentioning the lyrical content that I pulled them up to read. I wasn't quite expecting LL Cool J-MAID, but it's cool. And you're right, the song does kick ass. The volume in the car gets cranked when it comes on.

The only time Band-Maid Let Me Down was when they stopped playing after a 2-hour plus burnin'🔥hot concert. I guess it was a good thing because everyone was sweaty (wet? ;-) and spent (spent? ;-)... except the Maids. 😅 Thx, Jim & Grin!
The naughty side of Band Maid , lolololololol. Great job guys !!!!!!! The look on La Gringa's face is priceless. I could see her blush and yes, the vein on her forehead was throbbing. I was waiting for someone to suggest this. The most amazing thing for me was Miku running through parts of Tokyo in high heels and she looked like she was wearing sneakers. Our pigeon is multi-talented po ! And did you notice the sly smile on Miku's face while she was running ? I bet she was laughing inside thinking of all us English speakers listening to the lyrics.
Jimmy you are right. The song was written by the male songwriter Akihito Tokunaga back before they were allowed to write their own songs. I think Miku is running in the video to try and get away from having to sing these lyrics lol.
Tequila Jimmy and La Gringa, if you react to "Honkai" SPIN_OFF soon, please pay close attention to MISA's bass tone. It's otherworldly. It's like an alien spaceship is shooting something at us.
Very Cool song. Reaction was hilarious. Haruna shared that she went for dinner with Akane, and Midori joined them. That restaurant will have no food left based on what these ladies eat😅. Stamina for their amazing musicianship.
I don't know what Akihito Tokunaga was thinking when he wrote the lyrics for "Don't Let Me Down," but it wasn't sugar and spice and all things nice. I'm wondering what concept he had of Band-Maid and the music they would be playing. Whatever is the case, having La Gringa turn many different shades of red during this reaction made my day! A huge shout out to my fave reactors! Happy Festive Season and a peaceful and prosperous New Year filled with good rocking to you both!! 🤘🤘💕💕 EDIT: I wonder if Miku is running towards ... or running away?? 🤔🤔
Our dear MAIDS DO NOT like this song at all. So much so that they do not play it in shows, precisely because of its forced sexual double meaning. This song was pushed by the producer very reluctantly. Some time later they left this producer... The hardcore fans know.
Gringa's reaction when you read the lyrics to her was priceless! (LOL) I don't know why but I always go the opposite direction when I hear this song. I get emotional to the point of tears. The only thing in the lyrics that would cause that is "cause our love has gone away". BTW... How does Miku run through the streets of Tokyo in those platform heels?
Watched a radio interview, interviewer asked Saiki how she felt about singing dirty lyrics. She didn't understand the question. Miku explained the meaning to the words. Saiki blushed.

In 'Dice' Saiki asks the question "Candy or whip, which do you like?" Well, I have an idea what she herself prefers. 😆 And at that point they had already written the lyrics themselves, just as a side note. :) ... The stillest and shyest waters seem to be very deep. 😂 _____________________ 「 _"Our rock never dies ever. Forever!"_ 」 - ♬ *BAND-MAID* - 'Manners' ♬🕊️
Kobato has commeted that they did get the lyrics explained to them at the time, but something in a foreign language does not hit the same way, since you just don't have the same emotional connection. But it's not as if the maids are prudes in Japanese either - they're just not as explicit. There is fx "Matchless Gum" that Kobato has confirmed in interviews should be understood as being about sex. Apparently it was Saiki's initiative to write a song like that, and she has a shared writing credit on it with Kobato. However it is not explicit at all, more like an poetic rendition of what good sex might feel like? Apparently it's one of these things important to Saiki. We also have had the quite funny Abema TV interview - which kind of got away from then interviewers, since Saiki got hold of the chat, and with unerring precisions she picked out the risqué questions, since she though it was funny, and Kobato sort of went along with it. So then we learned that Band-Maid pre-concert habits involve things like telling dirty jokes, as a kind of tension breaker - MISA initiates it, and part of the original hilarity stemmed from having to explain in detail to Kanami why something was funny because it was dirty.
It’s good to see you guys, I’ve been MIA for a bit and Happy Holidays. I howled when you said “bring your A game because I instantly thought of the line from Hate?, “10 minutes of limp gymnastics!” 😂😂 Maybe this song and Hate? Should be played as a pair in concert. You guys always put a smile on this sad face! 🙂 You can always tell an older version of Band-Maid by their less elaborate outfits and that Miku is playing the Rickenbacker, pre-Zemaitus days. Even without the lyrics the song itself is awesome. Hope you both are well and having a wonderful time of year. ❤ Here’s to 2025 and hope we survive it! 😶🍺
It's always a little fascinating to see the fan narratives around this song. Like how it was written by a man (true, but that claim's got baggage) or whether they were tricked or forced by management into doing this song, or whether the maids are just expressing themselves. Some people point out that they rarely play this song live, as if to prove that they don't want to play it anymore - yet there are tons of old songs they rarely play live (Freezer, Shake That, Arcadia Girl, etc) and they have played this in the last few years, and no one is supposing that management is dictating their setlists. There's the story about Miku explaining the lyrics to Saiki during a radio interview... maybe that's true or maybe it isn't, pretty sure I haven't heard that one. Then there's the people saying that Japan has different attitudes toward sex... well, yes and no? Japan doesn't have our specific religious attitudes toward sex, and sometimes they're a bit more frank (and they seem to think it's fine to have lewd humor in kids' cartoons), but it's not like it's some kind of free love society where people just casually talk about it. They're weird about it in their own way. I don't think we'll ever know how the maids actually feel about this song unless they tell us. And even then, they live in a society that really strongly emphasizes "face" so who knows if we're really getting the truth from them. They've got this reputation for being their authentic selves on stage and in interviews, but we know that isn't really true - they show us what they want us to see and hide the rest. I mean, c'mon people, Miku (not her real name) still pretends she's a pigeon.
aside from the lyrics being awesome, I can't get over how a girl, dressed as a maid, can dash through Tokyo streets and no one, NO ONE seems to even be phased by it. Japan is definitely something else
This song was released in 2015. That was when Band maid was in minor league. I feel they were still struggling to jump up to major league. It was a kind of their challenge to nail in the market.
I’m Atlanta also…missed the Maids when they came through pAtlanta in 2023. Hope they return! 🙏 I saw an interview that it was an awesome show with the PO towels and crowd was really into it! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
This is when management was telling them what to do and you can tell Miku wasn't writing the lyrics. It's a great song and why not? Male bands have been writing stuff like this forever. Equality. Some of the things they actually wrote are similar, but more subtle. Sex makes the world go round.
Too many people have the fantasy that they are innocent young girls. They are grown women. Miku has written lyrics which definitely talk about physical sex.
Fair to say this isn't the sort of song Band Maid would have written themselves. But they were aware of what they were singing. Even when the song was originally done they were not naive young people. They have also occasionally sung it live in concerts in later years. The point is that Band Maid may be more profound now they write their own music and lyrics. However the real question that baffles us all is how in the video Miku can run so well in those heels.
It is a great song. Did you notice that Miku was running in heels & didn't look tired at all?. Another great song by them is "Turn Me On",(live version), where Misa starts off the song in typical Misa fashion(kicking butt). The lyrics aren't as risque as Don't Let Me Down, but still another great Band-Maid song.
This is where their manager was trying to push them in the beginning ? this or the pop road ?, no wonder they dumped him, and how in the hell does Miku run like that in heels, excellent reaction
This video gave me false expectations of what Tokyo would be like. Zero rockstar maids running around and zero cute pigeons at Shibuya crossing. I'm suing for false advertising!
You can clearly tell right from the start that this lyrics aren't written by Miku LOL But still, it's a great ass kickin rockin tune. The only thing i miss is a sexy Kanami solo, that would have been awesome, but at that time (2015) they hadn't written their own songs yet so it's understandable Anyways, really funny reaction as expected LOL. Keep up with the good work!

I am Japanese. The tune is similar to LoveBites (So Do I) by Halestorm, but it is not a pacri. Personally, I don't think it's a bad idea to have one or two songs that are similar, but I think I want to be original. Incidentally, the name of the band "LoveBites" comes from the fact that the vocalist Asami is a big fan of Halestorm.
In the past, it was common for BAND MAID to trace riffs from other bands. For example, BAND MAID's song “DICE” traces the riff from Black Veil Brides song “The Legacy”. Black Veil Brides also traced the riff from Guns N' Roses song “You Could Be Mine”. In this world, it is common to trace riffs.
Our dear MAIDS DO NOT like this song at all. So much so that they do not play it in shows, precisely because of its forced sexual double meaning. Not true. Saiki asked what the lyrics were from the get go. (She was a bit shocked but loved it). They had to explain the lyrics to Kanami though. They still have fun playing it. Last time Saiki turned and sang the lyrics to Kanami, who was laughing her head off!
@@lovebitesbrasilfans Absolutely not true on so many levels. When presented with songs they chose which ones they wanted. They have played it live a respectable 123 times - way more that YOLO which they wrote. Last time on the covid livestream in 2021 - and they had a blast singing it - Saiki singing the lyrics at Kanami. They have NEVER said they don't like it. It was never pushed on them. In 'Dice' Saiki asks the question "Candy or whip, which do you like?" Well, I have an idea what she herself prefers. 😆 And at that point they had already written the lyrics themselves, just as a side note. :) ... The stillest and shyest waters seem to be very deep. 😂

When you watch the live version of matchless gum Saiki is really channeling the sensuality also.
Please react to the video of Kanami's signature model on the official PRS channel!!❤
You can always tell an older version of Band-Maid by their less elaborate outfits and that Miku is playing the Rickenbacker, pre-Zemaitus days.
Even without the lyrics the song itself is awesome.
Hope you both are well and having a wonderful time of year. ❤
Here’s to 2025 and hope we survive it! 😶🍺
🤣😂 Awesome to see you back Robin!! Happy New Year 🎊
It's always a little fascinating to see the fan narratives around this song.
Obviously not written by the band, but (ridiculous lyrics aside) one of their most fun songs from the early years of Band-Maid. Great video, too.
aside from the lyrics being awesome, I can't get over how a girl, dressed as a maid, can dash through Tokyo streets and no one, NO ONE seems to even be phased by it. Japan is definitely something else
This song was released in 2015.
That was when Band maid was in minor league.
I feel they were still struggling to jump up to major league.
It was a kind of their challenge to nail in the market.
Band Maid's naughty song! 😊 I call this the 'Run Miku Run' video
How she can run in heels is beyond me, tho! 🙃
I always point out that the Tokyo Tower plays a prominent role in the video. Hmmm!
By the way, I'm from Atlanta as well.
I’m Atlanta also…missed the Maids when they came through pAtlanta in 2023. Hope they return! 🙏
I saw an interview that it was an awesome show with the PO towels and crowd was really into it!
🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
@@WilliamHallisey I’m not from Atlanta I’m from New Jersey 🍺🤪
Roger!🍺😁🤘🕊New Jersey, The Garden State!
This is when management was telling them what to do and you can tell Miku wasn't writing the lyrics. It's a great song and why not? Male bands have been writing stuff like this forever. Equality. Some of the things they actually wrote are similar, but more subtle. Sex makes the world go round.
I wonder how many times Miku fell shooting this one!
Too many people have the fantasy that they are innocent young girls. They are grown women. Miku has written lyrics which definitely talk about physical sex.
made ya snort!
...meanwhile super clumsy Miku is running in those high heels...🤣🤕
Maids in fire.🤣The Gringa shocked.😲 Thanks for this funny moment.
A really fun reaction for us followers watching you Jimmy making the Lady uncomfortable. 🤣
😂🤣😂 Glad you dug it Jens!
She probably ran into a ditch along the way. 😧
It's a naughty song. 😊
Ahh....thr naughty song....😊
This is where their manager was trying to push them in the beginning ? this or the pop road ?, no wonder they dumped him, and how in the hell does Miku run like that in heels, excellent reaction
TySM 🍻🍻
This video gave me false expectations of what Tokyo would be like. Zero rockstar maids running around and zero cute pigeons at Shibuya crossing. I'm suing for false advertising!
It's tragic the awesome rhythm sec. is still hanging out with the losers, dem waitresses, what a crying shame!
You can clearly tell right from the start that this lyrics aren't written by Miku LOL
But still, it's a great ass kickin rockin tune. The only thing i miss is a sexy Kanami solo, that would have been awesome, but at that time (2015) they hadn't written their own songs yet so it's understandable
Anyways, really funny reaction as expected LOL. Keep up with the good work!
Miku run on her heels on this Mv, i thinks get she had some bruzes
LOL😂😂😂
BAND-MAID Request!!
Thank you for your always wonderful responses.
This time I would like to request a BAND-MAID song.
There are a lot of responses to Japanese songs, so I think you'll like it.

ROFL!!!!!
Why is miku running, she had to explain to mincho what the song is about
Me thinks Miku running towards the Tokyo Tower is a metaphor for something else entirely.😏
You think so? 😮🤣
Haha, whenever I hear this song I remember your previous comment, Miku is running towards Tokyo Tower to avoid getting WET in the rain!😂
The owners name of Tokyo Tower is Dick Pole, i guess 🤔😜
@cats-eyes lol, always trust Gary to come up with an appropriate(?) comment!
@@kent-oveprestberg3578 Disgusting. How can you come up with something like that?😆
I'm surprised why people get err surprised. Five powerful women who aren't shy at being strong and forthright. I'll take that over stale, male western crotch rock any day. Onya BAND-MAID 👍🍻🍻🍻🍻
Bruuuuunoooo! 🍺😁🤘🏻🕊️

Lol we have a reaction to that one on the channel as well 😃
👍👍👍♥️♥️♥️
Upon watching this again , this is funnier then the end of the saiki doc po!
🤣😂🍻🍻🍻
Miku running off after some "tower." 🙂
Hey, Miku...Tokyo Tower when you can get some Skytree Tower?
Unfortunately it ended with "10 minutes of limp gymnastics" ;) hehe
🤘😆🤘
I am Japanese.
The tune is similar to LoveBites (So Do I) by Halestorm, but it is not a pacri.
Personally, I don't think it's a bad idea to have one or two songs that are similar, but I think I want to be original.
Incidentally, the name of the band "LoveBites" comes from the fact that the vocalist Asami is a big fan of Halestorm.
I was thinking of writing the same thing.😅
In the past, it was common for BAND MAID to trace riffs from other bands.
For example, BAND MAID's song “DICE” traces the riff from Black Veil Brides song “The Legacy”.
Black Veil Brides also traced the riff from Guns N' Roses song “You Could Be Mine”.
In this world, it is common to trace riffs.
Niagara Falls always makes me think of the three stooges. Jimmy was right; it was written by a man. The song still rocks hard though.
🙄😳😱🤫🤭
Poooooooo!!!!
Lyrics and music by Akihito Tokunaga. I think they didn't know English well and didn't understand what they were singing. 😄
Our dear MAIDS DO NOT like this song at all. So much so that they do not play it in shows, precisely because of its forced sexual double meaning. This song was pushed by the producer very reluctantly. Some time later they left this producer... The hardcore fans know.
I'm a Wolfpack and I know it, I also love BAND MAID
Not true. Saiki asked what the lyrics were from the get go. (She was a bit shocked but loved it). They had to explain the lyrics to Kanami though. They still have fun playing it. Last time Saiki turned and sang the lyrics to Kanami, who was laughing her head off!
@@Davey-Boyd Funny, Japanese fans tell me other things....I have contact with some. I prefer to believe the locals.🤘🏼
I read that Kanami is the only one who can communicate in English.
Please stop spreading rumours.
🤣🤣🤣 wondered when you'd get round to their X-Rated song ( not written by the band , obviously - they've got far more class 😇 )
