I've known them since 2016 and have been impressed. if you want to see the different styles and sides of Band Maid I recommend, “Daydreming” a wonderful ballad, “Rinne” hardrock, “Yolo” absolute technical, and if you are a nostalgic of Rock done right “The not Fiction Day” with Bandmaid still kids but badass. Two words about Kanami, he is a genius composes 90% of the songs and I love his writing and choices that leave room for all members, it is a choice not to overdo the solos, although he has technique speed and virtuosity, ah! he also plays piano well. have nice music
Once they were left "Alone" by their record / management companies to create what they wanted, well, look what they did. Alone's somewhat sad, heavy, yet empowering story (topics Miku's known for writing about), against Kanami's up-tempo, complex, yet rockin' music, is quintessential Band-Maid. BAND-MAID is an important influence and contributor to the music industry with a continuous, growing worldwide fanbase. But to me, they are just the best sounding, best writers of hard rock music, and the most fun, joyous group of musicians to come along since the Beatles, imxo! Thx, Jim & Grin! ;-)

One of Kanami's (IMOH) best solos. You've also discovered the Maids superpower...the power to play with your emotions at will.😆 Thank you for continuing to support the Maids. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 Try "Blooming" OMV or "Daydreaming" OMV. Both masterpieces in their own rights. "Blooming" was a homework assignment for the rest of the Maids to come up with a part of the composition for the song. Then the master of composition, Kanami stitched it all together in this masterpiece. "Daydreaming" is an amazing rock ballad. I don't want to give away too much, but it's brilliant.
The first song created totally by Band Maid that the suits allowed to be put out. Then the ladies were able to get control of their music. Have you listened to the instrumental WITHOUT HOLDING BACK yet? They all go off and it's very abstract in places.
Miku said that BAND-MAID now have a big file of Kanami composed songs on the back burner that they delve into when they think they'll compliment other songs on singles & albums. "MINCHOMANIA ROCKS".🤗

Tequila Jimmy and Gringa, you're not "Alone" in your love for Band-Maid. We Maidiacs worldwide are so happy that both of your enjoy our favorite band as well. I do have a suggestion of another Band-Maid song to listen to. It doesn't quite have the normal Band-Maid hard rock sounds, but it's a wonderful melody that shows off their musical versatility. The song is "Wonderland", the official live video. It has, what I consider, a jazzy feel, especially with MISA's bass. The song really displays Saiki's range and vocal abilities. It is a Maidiac favorite and I hope both of you have the opportunity to listen to it.
It's fun watching the first song by Kanami that was approved by their management, when we are SO CLOSE to their newest album coming out. They have done so many different things, and we will get to see the next step in their musical journey soon. Cannot wait! My neighbors are gonna complain.
There really seem to be two Kanamis inhabiting one person. Off stage she is sweet, goofy, a little absent-minded, and quietly obsessed with writing music. On stage she morphs into a demon shredder and total rock god. Check out the videos by Vladimir Chupin where she channels Hendrix and at one point karate-kicks Akane's cymbals.
This song is amazing, and a curious fact about the song is that it is the first song in band-maid's discography that was composed and written 100% by them. Before, their record company gave them demos and they added their style.

It's amazing how _Band-Maid_ this song was. All the things we recognize as their _sound_ are present in the first song they wrote. I love many of their earlier songs but this one is undeniably theirs. Thanks for the reaction!
Absolutely great reaction guys. The individual talent of each of these five women is incredible. But combined they become a force of nature. For each of them to be in the right place at the right time to form this band makes me believe in fate. You might enjoy watching the individual documentaries on each of the members by Ohrenje. They are well done and gives you lots of info on their lives and struggles to become successful.
FYI... Kanami plays all the rhythm and lead guitar parts on their studio albums. At least she does on their early studio albums. It may be different these days. Of course Miku handles the rhythm guitar parts quite well during their live shows.

Saiki is also part of their rhythm section. In the second verse where she interplays and dance around Akane's drum and Kanami is genius. Thank you Kanami. And I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Personally I think the Kanami's solo in this is one of her most power-metal adjacent solos.
The song that changed Band-Maid's career - track 8 on Brand New Maid. I can't imagine how many songs Kanami tried to get past the executives until they said, "Yes, you can record this one." It must have been quite a few, because the next album came out very quickly; the wonderful Just Bring It which, imho, is one of the greatest rock albums of all time. Also, as a long-time fan of watching Band-Maid reactions, the both of you are really great. It's a huge treat to watch you react the same way I feel to these wonderful women playing these wonderful songs. I'll finally have a chance to see Band-Maid play live in Haneda at the end of November (both shows) and I have no doubt it will be the highlight of a lifetime. Who knows? Great reaction as usual. I love Misa and Fami and the other talented bassists, but there's one who doesn't get enough recognition, mainly because of her genre. She is Japan's Princess of Funk, Juna Serita, and her regular metier is jazz/funk, of which Japan has a long tradition of excellent music. Currently, she is part of the all-female group The Jazz Avengers, an 8 person group with an amazing group of Japanese musicians. Prior to that, Juna was part of another great Japanese jazz group, Tokyo Groove Jyoshi. Juna is on the same level as every other great rock/metal bassists. You should check her out.
When The Gringa says "I just dance right out of it" (her outfit), it brought to mind the Joe Nichols country song called "Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off" for some reason.. 🙂

Lots of misinformation on the comments. The Japanese fandom, who I trust, have said that Kanami was able to submit songs for awhile. They were submitted to the other members anonymously, as all their songs were back then. This is the first the other members chose. Kanami has publicly said the earlier songs would never be shown.
Have you guys watched the Choose Me fancam from Yokohama Arena? I think the good video to watch is the one by Ohrenje. It’s got multiple videos and the livestream audio. Asami, Midori and Haruna were in the audience. They were in the video too.
Imagine this being the first song you wrote being released. I know that Kanami was writing things before this, but this being the first is awesome. They haven't looked back since!
Fami's style is more of a Noodle Meister, which is why she was the perfect replacement Bassist for LOVEBITES, which is a Noodle Meister Show Off Band. She fits right in there. That or Aldious would have been a good choice. BAND-MAID have their times to shine, but it's always short, sweet and tasteful. Rare;y do we get something like the drum solo in 'Freedom' LIVE or a Call & Response "Battle" like 'Hate?' LIVE, though it does happen. Too bad they pulled 'Take Me Higher' LIVE off TH-cam. THey did do 'Don't You Tell ME' LIVE again, but I still prefer the old one.
Thinking about your previous reaction to Anemone. Try the album version. I'm not sure if there is video for it. It won't be Saiki's vocals that get to you, it's Kanami's mind blowing guitar solo- just as emotional.

Fami's style is more of a Noodle Meister, which is why she was the perfect replacement Bassist for LOVEBITES, which is a Noodle Meister Show Off Band. She fits right in there. That or Aldious would have been a good choice. BAND-MAID have their times to shine, but it's always short, sweet and tasteful. Rare;y do we get something like the drum solo in 'Freedom' LIVE or a Call & Response "Battle" like 'Hate?' LIVE, though it does happen. Too bad they pulled 'Take Me Higher' LIVE off TH-cam. THey did do 'Don't You Tell ME' LIVE again, but I still prefer the old one.
