  • This video walks you through the installation of a trailer hitch and 4-pin wiring harness on a 958 Porsche Cayenne (2011-2014, possibly the same as 2015-2018) using basic tools. This includes the wiring diagram and torque specs, which are somehow impossible to find for these cars.
    Total Cost: $299.99
    Dealership Cost: $1800.00
    Savings: $1500.01

I have this ride. Love it!! And it’s a towing beast.

    Great video!
I am curious if there is an option to pull power from the factory module connectors (passenger side ).
I wonder if the LED lights use less voltage and is causing a minor issue on the setup. Great job!

Thank you! I tried looking into that when I started the project, but the diagnosis was a bit beyond my skill level at that point. It actually prefers the LEDs over the halogen bulbs based on my testing. I think the car checks total circuit draw for the lights and knows it's outside of OEM range, then adjusts accordingly.

Where did you endup tucking the plug? is there a hole to get the plug to the outside of the car? did you have to drill a hole etc?

I ended up leaving it in the spare tire area and I run it out the tailgate when I'm towing. My region is too salty and I didn't want to worry about corrosion. The gaskets on the tailgate are enough to prevent wear on the wire.

I didnt notice you ever run the modules power lead to the car's battery. Did you not use it?

This module didn't have a battery power lead. Because I'm running LED tails on the trailer, I was estimating the power draw was low enough to function without it and it eliminated a potential battery draw by not connecting directly to the battery. Ended up working without issues!
