My fiancé and I just bought a Cricut, so we've been watching a fair few instructional videos to get up to speed. This is far and away one of the best presentations I've seen. Clear, concise... very well done.
Wow! I have been filling in all my text on my cards by hand with pens and have kept saying Cricut should have a fill option. I accidentally came across this video when looking into cricut foiling. I have just tried it in design space and it worked a treat! Looking forward to printing it out now on my cricut machine and seeing the results. Thank you!
You have such a a smooth, calm monotone! Thank you! I have thoroughly enjoyed your video. Just as I thought I have learned it all for about 8 years, something new for me comes along!
THANK YOU!!!!! I've been looking for a solution for days and even bought a silhouette to fix the problem (which came with its own issues) Now the cricut works!!!!
Thank you Kay. I had asked in a couple Facebook groups, including Jennifer Makers how to colour fill an image and was told Cricut doesn`t colour and would have to print image on my printer then cut it on my Cricut. This made no sense with all the things Cricut can do ...it can`t colour although you can swamp out multiple pens for draw. Also I found your instructions easy to understand and thorough.
The line fill solution was EXACTLY what I was looking for!! I've had my Maker for a couple of years and have just discovered how easy engraving is, overcoming Cricuts "outline only" conversion has been more of a challenge! With only a week before Christmas, I actually stand a chance of getting my projects done! Thank You!!
In design space I have already rotated the lined rectangle to 30° so I don’t forget to do it! Plus I put a link to this video in case I need to refer back to it. I also added the word “template” as the first word of the title. Loved your tutorial… You explained it in a way I can understand it.
Clever Kay, you rock! Thank you for taking the time to respond to the crazy lady crying for help. I'll have to spend some time trying to figure out the terms "negative distance setting" and "negative offsets". Given my VERY limited knowledge of Design Space, the terms sound very mature, akin to the ability of someone who is a wiz at calculus, vs. someone still working on her time tables! Thank you again for reaching out. I'll take your information and keep pushing on, knowing one day, I'll rock it too. Peace Out..........Alpine
Thank you for this. I love listening to you without all the hype. There have been a few updates in cricut, but I was able to make it work using your helpful information
I’ve had my maker a couple of years now and not done much variety of things with it due to numerous failed attempts. You’ve just solved some of my problems! Thank you
Hello. I loved this video I am just about going to try engraving with my cricut...I must admit I am a little hesitant until I viewed your video. I am going to watch more of your videos related to this content. I am then going to just jump in...thank you so much for this great tutorial...
I have been stressing out the last two weeks trying to figure out how to get a solid look on a save the date invitation...... thank you so very much.... I am now stress free... it worked great
This is exactly what I needed and taught in such an easy to understand way! Thank you for being a wonderful educator and sharing your knowledge with us all!
You're a great teacher, Kay! You break down the process and present so it's clear and easy to understand, without a lot of extra info to make it confusing. Thank you, and well done!
Brilliant! Twice in the last two days, your channel provided the exact information I needed as I am getting started using leather in a Cricut Explore. Your instructions are clear, purposeful, and have the perfect amount of useful tips added. I do videos for professional learning and recognize the high quality of what you create. Providing the copy of the starter project has made me an instant fan of yours. Thank you!!
I saw your method featured in another video but they did not say anything about enlarging by a factor of 10 and then reducing it. This video helped me immensely as a newbie with Cricut. Thank you & I have subscribed, I really like your method of teaching this!!
after several hours earlier trying to use someone elses file that was supposed to be filled like this ( bit was a totally just solid) this has saved butt and stopped me thinking my machine was broken. THANKYOU
I spent so long trying to find this video. I wished I had found it weeks ago! I gave up back then. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It's so simple once you understand it but I didn't know what a hatch fill was until now. Thank you, I did enjoy learning this. Definitely saving for the future.
Got my cricut maker 3 a couple of weeks ago and was looking for a function like this. So happy I found this video!! Saves a lot of time, since I don’t have to colour it by hand anymore. Gonna try it tomorrow. Thanks a lot!!!!
I think you are brilliant!! Thank you so much for sharing all this. Easy to follow instructions without unnecessary extra chatter. Clear and straight to the point!
THANK YOU for this tutorial! I don't know if it was deliberate, but in my opinion, it is really cheap of Cricut to not have this fill feature built in already. I really like using the pens & it was disappointing to realize they could only do outlines. Until your video! Thank you again! Looking forward to looking at your other videos.
This was so helpful. Thank you. I opened the file in Cricut Design Space and pasted the URL to this video into it as text so I can easily keep the tutorial and the file together. So glad I found you. I really like the way you present tutorials. You stay focused but go through each step very well. Appreciate you sharing with us!
THANK YOU so much, Kay!! This is exactly what I've been wanting to be able to do and you've provided [simple-looking], step-by-step instructions to do it. I have a brand new pack of Cricut foiling sheets, but I think I'll start off first with a pen just to practice following your instructions. Can't thank you enough! 👍🏻
Just gotten myself new kit for Joy and obviously works same way as this. I've looked at 4 youtube tutorial - I couldn't understand that, but came across yours.. Finally understood your explanation so thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you SO much! I'm doing my first acrylic engrave, so this was immensely helpful. I'll have to watch it again next time I do this, but now I know it's here. Thank you!!!
Thank you soooo much, I wasn't even looking for this and it popped up. And I have been having trouble with darkening my foiling, so this is a life saver
Thank you for a very thorough, easy to follow explanation of a complex subject! I am excited to think of the new world of possibilities this information has opened for me!
Thank you for this and for the line fill! I’d tried following another tutorial but it was ending up messy. The results with this tutorial & your file turned out great!
Thank you tons!!!! I have tried both silhouette and inkscape and this is much easier. Huge thank you for that block!!! Your explanations are so clear and easy to understand
Thank you for another GREAT and INFORMATIVE video. You have a great deal of knowledge for programing. Are you a programing engineer? Cricut needs to improve Design Space we need more flexibility for designing. I have and old card program for the early 90's that offers more than Design Space. Cricut needs to get with the Program!
My fiancé and I just bought a Cricut, so we've been watching a fair few instructional videos to get up to speed. This is far and away one of the best presentations I've seen. Clear, concise... very well done.
Saving me a bunch! Thank you for the tutorial! I'm even more happy that you shared a free file to use. I'm so grateful to come across your video.

Kay thanks for this. Sending thanks from a Brit in Qatar. Clear and easy to follow and actually getting right into the instructions from the start
THANK YOU!!!!! I've been looking for a solution for days and even bought a silhouette to fix the problem (which came with its own issues) Now the cricut works!!!!
HUGE Thank you for uploading a link to the file for fill!
I rarely comment on the comment section, but you really made my cricut life so much easier! Fan here! Thank you so much!!!!!!

I would have spent hours and wasted so many materials trying to accomplish this. Thank you for the excellent video and links.
My text looks great following these tips - can't wait to foil it!

sorry for the engineer-speak. Let me try again. Push the offset slider to the left of center to make a new path inside the original.
@@cleversomeday BAWHAHAHA! You're funny and thanks for the clarification. I'll give it a go.
Just starting out I think I'll need to watch more THANKS
Thank you for this. I love listening to you without all the hype. There have been a few updates in cricut, but I was able to make it work using your helpful information
Thank you for this tutorial! I just started exploring using the engraving blade.
The single, most useful process I've learned for the Cricut so far. TYSM for sharing!
I’ve had my maker a couple of years now and not done much variety of things with it due to numerous failed attempts. You’ve just solved some of my problems! Thank you

This helped so much (once I remembered that I needed to weld the file I wanted to slice xD) Thanks for the line pattern!
I constantly refer to your video. I've engraved metal botanic signs that I hang on my trees & in front of perennials.
