Without really spoiling it, it’s supposed to resemble a city (the whole raid does) and if you hear the lyrics you INSTANTLY know what city it is. It makes me REALLY excited for the other city raids!❤
Next time we are getting Gridania and Ishgard! :3
welp sucks that the other cities didn't get a theme this time around, felt like the no brainer choice since the three starting cities are still so crucial to the game, hoped each one had an anthem to represent its people and life, the fiddle at least fits Gridani. We get a vocal song for a pretty underrepresented race though so that's cool.
Day 1 this content came out, remember it so vividly, the second we saw the orbs dedending, everyone screamed, "THAL'S BALLS!!!"
The thing I remember was the dance party. In my first run we stopped and danced while the song played two full loops before pulling.
you may notice that it goes between 8/8 and 6/8 time when it shifts from major to minor. representing Nald and Thal. it is BRILLIANT
Final Fantasy XIV really is an RPG first. The MMO aspect doesn't feel tacked on, though. They've recently made adjustments to the leveling experience that make it smoother for solo play, including dungeons. One of the friendlier communities- in my experience, anyway- too.
I played FFXI up until a few months into ARR, I wasted a few years playing WOW alongside FFXI. I consider myself to have a fairly good idea of the communities and you're right. FFXIV is like therapy for people who were abused in other games. Sure, there are toxic people, but the community in general isn't toxic. It varies a bit server-to-server but overall it's such a better environment. Either the devs found some magic or people are growing up. Personally, I believe in magic :)
@@mistresskupo I think the general toxicity level of players is due in part to the fact that the rules are actually enforced by the GMs as opposed to [OTHER MMO]
Not for level 60-70 though they havent implemented it yet for solo play
I just realize that nald and thaal being twin gods and the gods of commerce and death is a play on "death and taxes" and now i feel dumb because im a fucking Black Mage main.
The two things you can't avoid are death and taxes. But you better dodge Thal's Balls.
Balance is one of the best pieces of music in FFXIV. I love how on runs on every boss the tanks run in, Thal's balls to the walls, pulling immediately. But you get to the last fight and everyone stops for a second to appreciate the music.
You should do a stream that's just FFXIV music, lol.
This is the song that balances tension and power.
Soken's gonna have to outdo himself to make the last 8 of the Twelve's themes (or at least the two climatic ones from the second and third quartet) be as big as "In the Balance".
In The Balance builds upon the theme of Ul'dah, so the community guess is that the other final bosses will be Nophica with a Gridania inspired theme, and Llymlaen with Limsa theme.
Myself, I think second wing will be Halone (because you can't let something named "The Fury" without it being a final boss), and the last leg will be an original threat outside of the twelve

Free trial doesn't really end. You could get every job to 59 before having to break down and buy if you decide to. It doesn't expire but there are a few really annoying limitations.

@@r2dezki Sorry for being off by 1 level. I wasn't sure if hitting 60 ended it or if getting close to 61 ended it. I said 59 to err on the side of caution.

@@Silphiroth oh its good too, just not as good. And sorry, I think i was mentioning the Raids themselves as whole. both aesthetically are incredible eye candy and the fights are wonderful through and through.

Yeah, it's from the first alliance raid of Endwalker
It is. Patch 6.1 introduced the alliance raid set, "Myths of the Realm", and its first wing, Aglaia -- Nald'Thal is the final boss in that wing.
Only way this could be better is if you also used coins to play this song.
