It is located in the less developed side of Cebu, but the owner is running a remarkably popular internet cafe that offers the much needed access to PC to the local population.

I rarely comment on TH-cam videos infact almost never but this is one of the most wholesome videos i have seen on TH-cam. I remember during my Childhood that one Grandpa's Internet Cafe that i used to go to and he would always throw me some free extra time when i ran out of money because i was a regular. You did good things for these kids man.
This reminds me of my childhood in Korea in the 80s. I lived in Han Nam Village and my mom would send me to piano lessons nearby. Unfortunately I was pretty naughty, and would always deviate to the local video game parlors and just spend hours watching people play games because I had no money. Every so often, someone would take pity on me and give me a 100 won to put in a game and it felt like heaven for a little while. This video bought a little bit of nostalgia back and I was temporarily transported to those video game parlors. Thanks Jimmy for your kindness and for bringing back some wonderful memories.

Hey man, I'm from Australia and I'm heading to my auntie's gaming cafe that is just like this one in a small town in a lesser known island of the Phiullippines. Thanks for making this video and interacting with the kids. It's just what I'm going to be doing too I'm even thinking of hosting game tournaments with prizes which is what I did last time I was there. And now that I have a better job than I did last time I will be ugrading their equipment too. The cafe I will be going at has had piso net installed which is such a foreign thing for me as it was for you. Thanks for getting me even more excited to go this March

I don't think I need to worry about communicating even though I don't speak Tagalog well. And also, the prices of goods and services are super cheap there, which is super cool! It's even much cheaper than in my home country, lol. Philippines will probably be my escape place when I want to travel but don't have much money :"D. Anyways, Thank you very much for the content!

My parents used to run an internet cafe business back in my home place of Teresa, but we got it closed in 2017 due to moving out. With the effects of pandemic and cheap smartphones going mainstream, people are going to start closing their business of internet cafe, which is sadly unfortunate. Thank you for sharing this video.

I'm Indonesian, and this is probably the first time I saw a video about internet cafe in the Philippines especially the small, local ones. It's awfully familiar with what he have here (or used to have, because it's slowly dying also here)

In the 2000s there used to be lots of small household-run internet cafes in many areas of the Philippines like this one.
Nowadays not so much of them exist because of mobile phone internet and many more closed due to the pandemic.
The only difference in the ones you visited is the coin operated wifi called PISO wifi.
That's a relatively new thing thats made possible by smaller form factor PCs that are usually Raspberry Pi copycats.
But nothing beats old PC. That's where I learned the parts of a computer as the owner shared to me how to build one from scratch.
Ah those were simpler days. Nostalgic 👌
🧐 It's interesting that gaming is for the little ones while the older ones hang out on the beach ⛱ and even offered to teach you 😂 I wish that balance were true for all the kids. You can tell by their character that they are well loved and cared for and raised with a healthy sense of pride for their community 🥰🥰🥰
that gaming cafe probably doesn't play the games those older kids can have access to with their own computer or even their smartphones.
It's pretty much older games so they have no reason to really be there which is why you only see younger kids, likely those who don't have access to a computer.

It was a truly joyous moment when the shop owner would give us free time on the day they collected coins from their coin-operated computers. Giving them extra hours would be amazing for them. @@lyhthegreat SOME internet shops in the PH have the reputation of having an unpleasant smell. A scent similar to when your clothes get wet from the rain then you leave it indoors for a couple of hours without hanging or drying. That type of smell but a little worse. Asking Jimmy to go there and smell the headset is just cruel. I'm Filipino and I don't even go there 🤣

This is nice and all, but those mousepads for sure smell gnarly 😂 when I was in college, I didn't have my own laptop and the closest internet cafe in my boarding house happened to be a hotspot for kids playing video games. The first time I went there, my hand smelled really bad after making contact with the mouse pad for just a few minutes, smelled like old sweat 😂, learned to bring my own mouse pad after that (I can at least afford to buy that 😂)
