Excellent video. I've been watching your videos on wet-on-wet oil painting based on Ross and Alexander. Thank you so much for your insight and teachings. You have inspired me to begin painting. Since I was 7 I have always been an artist that did only drawings. I had a fear of painting using color. It is kind of ironic because most artists will say of the 2, drawing is the most challenging. I realized painting is simply drawing just using color and a brush instead of a pencil. As a drawer I clearly understood value and shading. I just need to apply it to painting and of course learn about color theory. Thank you so much.
I am super stoked that I can help you on your creative adventures. My channel is perfect for you if you are just starting out with painting. Make sure to hit that sub button for more awesome video and to help support.
I sold a few paintings but that dried up. Now I donate them for charity. I have given total strangers paintings for free. During tough times it makes someone happy. That is what it's all about.
This is an essential lesson that anyone selling anything needs to see. It may seem like basic common sense, but not many people use these techniques unless they are trained to do it. I hope Wild keeps expanding on this subject because he does it in an understandable and usable way. Practice on your friends and in a mirror to perfect your sales pitch.
Basic goes right out the window when you start selling art as a first timer.... Most assume buyers will come to you. For 99% of us, that wont happen. Selling takes work and with these simple BUT effect tips, you will start off on the right foot. I have had many reach out so YES - I think I will expand on it or go more in-depth :)
I am looking forward to getting the book. I am practicing daily and getting better in my mind. Lots of people like the ones I post on Facebook, but I don't think I'm good enough just yet to sell.
The book will be super helpful - Just need to add one more thing then it is all done. I will be doing aa live art review soon - submit your art for it and I can give my honest opinion.

Need to learn paint first lol but I've made some art pieces for non profit organization to show at Christmas party at one of members of parliament in my hometown Those people can buy those for price they want but obviously I made them for free and for time I can spend there for providing me a safe stress free place to somewhat focus on my art even though I unfortunately have less creativity when stressed or sad. But wish I could have energy, strength, finance, confidence, communication skills to pull it off.. unfortunately nowadays I'm glad I can get up from my bed again and at least do few but some stuff even though I still don't feel well, my confidence is non existent my self worth is really low ... I'm sorry I'm spamming here talking about myself, now I just really want to comment on the video and amazing you finally. My online social awareness is also really bad as you can see now This is the first video I've seen from you and can I just say your overall quality is perfection! The video was just really well put together, structured well, edited well, sound amazing, your confidence is astonishing and very useful information packed in this video, well done! Definitely I'll keep watching, you really talk about stuff in interesting way and it's useful but not dull, just great job, you're awesome!
As a person that is a 50% introvert & 50% extrovert with also self esteem issues growing up, I can assure you.... ART is a great healer and character builder. Confidence and Self worth are traits you can work on in life. Don't settle, never stop working on you and growing. You got this... I believe in you 🔥🔥🔥
Im on that one. It hasn't done much for me. I've been an artist my entire life and still have not sold one thing on the site. The problem with the pod sites is that they don't do any marketing. That's what I really need help with.
Hi I have someone interested in my art. I watched this video, but I don't see how to price it. I've never sold any before. I was wondering if you'd be willing to help understand how to price? May I send you any of my paintings to see?
The pricing of your art will be in that book I am working on ( which should hopefully come out soon ). It will have the BEST and HONEST advice when pricing your art... Sorry to tease and promote the book. I think you should get the book when it drops but I will give you a HUGE tip from the book that will help you right now. Have a basic low price number in your head that will make you happy. Ask the buyer in a sneaky, confident and calm way, "How much would you buy it for?" If that number is at or above your number - SELL IT! If its below your number... tell them you were thinking more around "blank number". Then gauge their reaction. This is a good way to see what the base value of your art is.
I use an HP ecotank and it's been working great, though if you grab it I do highly recommend using about 600 dpi for print quality to make sure it's looking really smooth.
I just started using an Epson XP-15000 and it makes wonderful prints of my art. It's not cheap but I think it's the best and the Epson free print layout software is perfect for print making.
Ya do... and its called family and friends. Start with them to get your feet it. the potential customers are a bit introverted? Hell, I'm seriously introverted near hermit status. 🤣 my anxiety started kicking in hearing you say 'Make first contact' and then you follow that with tell them a story?!? 😔
I am 50% introvert and 50% extrovert. So I can relate... BUT like I said most people will glide by and introverts will always glide by. So you need to make first contact, relate to them and make them feel at ease while engaging. Tough to do BUT necessary if you want to sell your art.
You never know where a buyer might be.... I remember selling my first paintings. People loved them but they weren't very good in my opinion ha ha ha ... BUT they saw something they liked in them ha ha ha
Thank you for this video 🤍 unrelated but which do you suggest as a good varnish for acrylic water color painting with small oil pastels work? I’m considering Winsor & Newton Matte. But any other good ones to seal the painting? 😊🤍🤍
To be honest I haven't worked in pastels... I am generally a fan of Gloss or High Gloss ( because it works so well with the texture of oil ) Typically varnishes should enhance that artwork... So think that way. Will matte enhance the mood or feel of the artwork?
