Mewtripled made a similar video kinda. She said building merchandise around her comic/comic characters is what partially led to her art business not doing well. I haven't watched this video yet, but what she said really stuck with me. She said in order to make an art business work, you have to put everything into it. If you have other ambitions, like being a comic artist, then running a business likely won't work as it requires significant time. If anyone reading this has multiple art ambitions, it might be wise to just pick one thing and just do that if possible.
i’m going to be selling at my first convention in around a month! i’m super exited but nervous as well because i’m trying to make sure everything is ready- wish me luck!
I recently left my day job to pursue the artist life and selling on etsy! I am still trying out a lot of different styles and products to see what sticks, and just building up inventory too. Currently working with a local print shop and then packaging myself. The up-front costs have been crazy, but I am hopeful I can make it all back as time goes by
Finally someone who explains it in 1 video. Thank you! I just wanted to get some passive-ish income to combine with a dayjob, until I can go self-employed maybe, one day.
Honestly I wasn’t sure if Etsy was going to work for me because of the fees, so I tried opening a shop on InPrnt. I haven’t got any sales yet but it made me realize that I need to also focus on ways to let people know that I have an online shop. Also I’ve kept hearing recent stories of the Etsy website closing peoples stores without warning but I’m not sure if they’re true…
Way to tease us with those overwatch stickers hahah I went to your store and was so bummed to not see them there. 😂 thank you so much for this video. I made my first hoodie as a gift for my sisters and I’m kinda hooked. This is giving me the confident to just do it 🤘
I’ve made an Etsy but haven’t gotten any sales, I tried the long tailed keywords thing but still no dice. I am tabling at a convention next month for the first time so maybe I can get some sales there
I was at a job I hated. Started an Etsy with the art I had made until then using Print on Demand, left my job because my manager was scary and kind of threatening. To date have sold about 5 things total. Maybe it's just not for everyone...
ive been selling locally in person for 2 yeara but i haven't really gone online yet bc im concenred i dont have a large enough following to justify that work. how has online sale compared to in person for people who do/ have done both?
Me, 3 seconds ago: hmmmmm I need to find a way to sell my art/prints/make commissions online. I wonder if I should contact Jackie this video: HELLO me: GOD!?
I have a bunch of zines I made but can’t sell. It’s about the video game music industry, but it turns out that fans of VGM are interested in music and not comics. Oops 😅

What NAICS code did you use? “Art dealer?’
I have some Star Wars fan art I want to try to sell on Etsy. Are they ok with fan art, or do they crack down due to copyrights?
