"Run Boyzone over with your big American truck" was my favorite bit 😂
You know the one 🛻 beep beep
@@DianeJenningsmiss Diane I grew up on boyz to men in the 90s in Los Angeles California ( this was done in 1997 ) I knew you were one of us you need to do a whole 90s R&B ( rhythm and blues ) hour and tell us what you think, let me suggest water runs dry by them ( in the 90s boy bands didn’t necessarily dance that only became a thing in the early 2000
@@DianeJenningsboys 2 men were a good band😊
Ye should do more Boyz II Men...they even had Bobby Brown as a front man (yup, that one...)
I just looked them up.
They sound like a contemporary Christian singing group. 😊
That band was huge back in the early to mid 90's.
In terms of popularity, think of Taylor swift now
Boyz II Men was an amazing group! The harmony still gives me chills. Their music brings me back to my childhood and how much my sister and I loved listening to them. ❤
It’s mad we didn’t get them but I guess touring Ireland wouldn’t have done much for them 😂 too small
@DianeJennings yes, they were before NSync and Backstreet
They're still together now trio
wow, haven't listened to BoyzIIMen in a very long time! I forgot just how great they sounded. Another great choice and reaction Diane, thanks! Cheers 💚
So good! Glad you enjoyed it
On of the greatest slow dance songs of my middle school life…if I only danced and didn’t just help hold up the wall
Dude, same! I still remember having a friend of a girl come ask me to dance for her because she was too shy AND I was too shy to dance horribly, so I said no.
I don’t often kick myself for my decisions as an adolescent, but that’s one I’d like back just because older me had the realization that she had to like me to want to ask me to dance and I was too stupid to even contemplate that possibility.
It was a good “couples skate” song too lol!! GET OFF THAT WALL🕺🏾💃🏽
Boys ll men is the greatest combination of voices of all time.
Finally someone who can comment without pausing and giving a 15 minute analysis everytime … keep up the good work
I asked my housemate & she said Boys2Men was definitely popular in Australia, which only thickens the mystery around Ireland, maybe one of them was allergic to stout
This song was #1 in the US from August 9 - November 7, 1992 at the time, a record-breaking 13 weeks! It would be surpassed by Whitney Houston's I Will Always Love You mere months later. Idk your birthday/age, Diane, but I imagine it's around that time. I would love to see you react to the #1 song the week you were born on this channel!!
The Irish have a lovely and deep love for music xx
I enjoyed your R & B dancing vibes and reaction to the song. You know what would be cool a dancing emoji for the music reaction videos.
This is my comment to boost your algorithm. It is fun to watch your reactions and to listen to your insights from the perspective that is unique to you. It is entirely a mystery to me when your reactions become especially intense. The phenomenon reminds me of all the young ladies who screamed their lungs out in the old films about the Beatles performing live.
Totally! Some boys yell at sports, some girls yell at boy bands
This was the first CD I ever had. Can't remember how old I was but was in elementary school and listened to it on repeat when I had the chickenpox. I'm gonna guess it was '94
Their first album "Cooleyhighharmony" is amazing, start to finish fantastic!
B2M. Nothing like a heart to heart talking in the middle of a song to his girl....
Right?! 😂 that would be my bit in the band
This was the song I listened to in high school, it brings back so many memories
This song was HUGE in the 90s
I missed the FHC, but for the algorithm! These guys were during my time. An amazing group that got the recognition they deserved.
That song broke Elvis Presley's 36 year old record for weeks at number 1 at 12 weeks on the Billboard charts. Then Whitney Houston broke it with "I Will Always Love You" at 14 weeks. Then Boyz II Men tied it at 14 weeks with "I'll Make Love To You." Then they became the only artist to knock themselves out of the number 1 spot with their own song "On Bended Knee," but it only lasted 6 weeks at the number 1 spot. Finally, they broke the record again at 16 weeks with a duet with Mariah Carey called "One Sweet Day," which still stands today.
This was the Graduation song for many schools in 93. I'm class if 91 but I stayed until 93. I dropped out twice in my senior year.
Boys to Men are in Philadelphia where I live and they went to the School of Performing Arts I think. When they made that song they were about 24 or 25 I guess
You've gotta watch Home Free rendition of "End of the Road"
Boyz II Men took their name from the title of a New Edition song 'Boys to Men'. New Edition member Mike Bivens was their original producer. Their name caught his attention because of the correlation.
I really missed the Monday video Diane! I had to survive on Diane re-runs. All better now.
A couple of years ago (pre-pandemic) they did a concert with the Asheville Symphony and, possibly, Steep Canyon Rangers (a local group that has made good).
Awesome reaction to a great song honey!
Darealdeal
subscribed 😂 you had me laughing at the head tilt to about 3:44
All story’s from the streets of Philadelphia. Birthplace of the nation.
Boyz to men was them bulls down north philly with the voices
These guys are great, a classic group. I saw them in concert way back in the olden days. Now you should do a comparison with "Home Free" covering "End of the Road".
Need to listen to Home Free cover of End Of The Road they blow it out of the water !!!!!
3:33 😅 the brief head tilt
@@jet07son 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Happy Weird Wednesday. I really love this video. Have a great Wednesday.
Thank you! You too!
The name comes from a new edition song by the same name they were discovered by micheal bivens and babyface was one the songs writers who also has a great voice too
Boys II Men is the greatest R&B group. You should listen to their song On Bended Knee
Classic group and song
Romance music was different back then =) Much more genuine and less gross.
great song i also like westlife too
While this is a boy band, it is typically classified into different group than groups like in *NSYNC and Backstreet Boys. Boys to men was an R&B group meaning, rhythm and blues.
Like some others here, I have heard of Boys to Men, but they were not a band I have listened to. Except for here and now. I can't believe how my horizons have expanded!
I can imagine that young guys wouldn’t have been that into them but looking with more mature eye, it’s so clear, how talented they are!
They didn’t make it big in Ireland because the Irish have this form of music that’s suppose to be like black American R&B. It’s not bad, but I can 100% see why this music wouldn’t have resonated in a place like Ireland when they have their form of it.
Also, you asked when they were around. These guys hey-day and this album would have been around the time Ireland was obsessed with Take-That. I know this because like many Americans I binge watched Derry Girls. I remember the time era that show was supposed to be. I remember the Clinton episode and the obsession with Take-That.
That time is exactly at the height of these guys. Backstreet Boys fame started worldwide in 1998 and on. Different cultural eras. I’m glad you asked the question.
P.S
You should do a reaction for this video of theirs. What’s crazy is that the white sand and the filming of this is was in America. I know me and every American, was like, “Say word? That’s in America?” After you watch. Don’t just take my word for it. Do a fact check. Google where “Boys II Men Water Runs Dry Video was filmed.” Enjoy lady 🙋🏾♂️

I'm having flashbacks to awkward Jr. High School dances and their song On Bended Knee in 1994 lol. Another great one from this era was I swear by All-4-One
Ooh lala!
The best song of theirs ever!
It’s really good
I've never heard of them, but I am from the US.😊❤
HOLY SHIT!!! I JUST NOTICED YOUR NAME. IS THAT YOUR REAL LAST NAME? Um. NUNNEMAKER HERE. In Oregon.
@@bearnunnemaker5453 I spell my name Nunemaker and live in Illinois. Our names are spelled very close!
@@joannunemaker6332sorry. Didn’t have my glasses on. There’s a Ken Nunemaker in Pittsburgh, Pa.
First concert I went to in 1990 something...
0:41 7:51 In the BoyBand timeline _Boyz II Men_ would have been at their pinnacle around the time _BoyzOne_ release their first single ( *Working My Way Back to You* ) in Ireland. 1994.
I seeee. Good info, thanks! It was BoyZone like… a zone of boys.. I just got that 😂
@@DianeJennings I know its Boyzone. I like calling them BoyzOne to annoy people. First time I did a web search to find out who Boyzone where, I was taken to a completely different website my innocent eyes was not expecting to see. Some things can not be unseen.
The a capella group Home Free did a great cover of this song. I highly recommend checking it out.
I had heard of them, but never listened to them. The best part of the video was you! R&B not really my thing. But you do the reaction and I'll watch it.
Thank you! Shucks 🙈
Boyz II Men takes me back to Junior High. The cafeteria jukebox played Boyz II Men and Selena none-stop.
Selena!! I must check her out sometime. I only know of her through Jennifer Lopez playing her new movie and apparently she had a very sad ending to her life?
@@DianeJennings Selena would be a good one check out. She is the Queen of Tejano Music. The song *Dreaming of You* was one of Selena's last recordings
@@DianeJenningsShe did. She was killed at a very young age by someone very close to her, I believe it was her manager.
@@DianeJennings The Telemundo anchor where I work knew her personally IRL
@@LindaC616she was killed by her fan club’s President, her manager was her father.
Did You Know Boys II Men sang their own version of Yesterday that was a song made by the Beatles?
Should react to bended on knees by Boyz 2 men
now that you've seen the original. Check out Home Free's cover of this song
The group were all in their early twenties
I think this is your first R&B reaction. You picked a good one.
I'm surprised Boyz II Men weren't big in Ireland. They were huge in the U.S. I have to say, though, that the name sounds to me like the title of a middle school sex-ed video.
Philadelphia has a long tradition of vocal groups. Hall and Oates are from Philly (you really should check them out), as are The Dixie Hummingbirds, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, Sister Sledge, Danny & the Juniors, and The Delfonics.
Have you heard of the half-plus-seven rule? If you divide your age in half and add seven, that's the lowest age for a romantic partner without it being creepy. So if you're 22, the youngest person you should be with would be 18. It's a pretty good rule of thumb.
Yes I’ve heard that rule. It’s definitely not always right. Life stages are most important I think
@@DianeJenningsoh, yes, check out Hall and Oates ("Sara Smile" and "She's Gone"). Darryl Hall had incredible vocal range!
@@DianeJenningsthis .us8c would have been for school dances, the e---- section. Right.😅
Shawn is the main singer of the group
I like the shameless but necessary plug. If TH-cam takes away ad money, you have to make it up somewhere, so Patreon or channel memberships are good ways to fund the work.
Boys II Men are not my style of music, but they're good for what they are.
Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds was the songwriter/producer who talked about his divorce inspiring the song, but he was not a member of the band. The co-writer Daryl Simmons was also divorced, but was not in the band. The band members were well over 10 years younger than Edmonds and Simmons.
I seeee! Thanks for explaining. I vaguely remember Daryl Simmons on mtv for something

Please do New Kids on the Block next.
guy with the cane has ms
I never got into the boy bands too much. They sang real well though!
That doesn’t surprise me Brian 😂
@@DianeJennings cause I'm a man or cause I'm a metal head? Lol.
mendations
Poob! I’m looking forward to this because it’s a band I don’t know! I know, hard to believe!
Suggestion: this is a silly one, but they were very popular in the 70’s especially, The Partridge Family! Ok, only David Cassidy and his mom, Shirley Jones (Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe award winner) sang on their records which was featured on the show. The cast of the Partridge Family reportedly had a feud with The Brady Bunch but the Partridge Family was better.
There are multiple segments available on TH-cam of them singing and acting. Jones was the first woman to have both an acting Oscar and a number one hit on billboards Hot 100 (I Think I Love You). Her real life son David Cassidy played her son on the show and is the other one actually singing on the show. Many pre-teen & teenage girls now in their 60’s had photos of David on their walls in the 70’s!
Oh those are EXCELLENT suggestions! I definitely will check them out
@@DianeJenningsand David's brother Shaun, "Do You Believe in Magic" and others off that album. Pure teeny bop
B2M was well before NSync but about the same time as New Kids On the Block and Back Street Boys. I'm the dinosaur as usual.
Stahp! I must check out nkotb sometime
@@DianeJenningsWell you'll be surprised if you check out New Kids On The Block for I believe Donnie Wahlberg was one of the fellas. He's Mark Wahlberg's older brother that became famous 1st. I Find it interesting that both Wahlberg's became famous for singing then had success in movies. Mark Wahlberg otherwise known as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch "Good Vibrations"
Dear Diane, where is your lighter?🔥 Oh I forgot nowadays they do it with their smartphone lights...🔦⚡
Why are you surprised they all have good voices?
Don't forget you was going to do the live version of led zeppelin stairway to heaven so much better than the studio
Happy Wednesday Diane
Personally, I would have recommended "I'll Make Love to You". "On Bended Knee", "or even "A Song for Mama". But, moving on, This is considered one of the Top 5 Best Boys II Men songs.
At the time of the release of this song, their age ranged from 18 to 21 (possibly almost 22). "Babyface" Reid and Darryl Simmons were NOT part of Boys II Men. They were famous song writers and producers. The original members were Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman. Wanya Morris, and Michael Sean McCary, the member with ms and the cane.
They started in 1985, which put them at ages 12 to 14 about as "Unique Attraction". They renamed themselves Boys II Men after a New Edition song named "Boys to Men". Ironically, they got their start due to singing in front of Bivins, Devoe, and Bell (members of New Edition) after sneaking into a radio station concert trying to meet Will Smith. Their style was dubbed 'hip hop doo-wop'.
They had a chance and did a song with Mariah Carey, with "One Sweet Day". They have continued to sing off and on since the 90s. They were touring as late as a few years back and maybe even now.
Wanya and Brandy dated in 95. Because at the time they were very 'Christian' identifying, it is very possible they were not exactly hooking up and it was with the consent of Brandy's parents and knowledge. Unless I am confused, Wanya is "the cutie one" or the 2nd singer in this video.
2:50 RU ready for another stunning voice?
The shameless plug alert intro on the video was awesome the light bulb for patreon lit up once you plugged in the plug. 💡🔌

Try Boys 2 Men and Maria Carrie
Them with Mariah Carey singing ONE SWEET DAY is total perfect harmony
16 weeks on the top of the chart Billboard Hot 100!

If you like Boyz II Men and what to check out more of their songs; I recommend you check out their song *I’ll Make Love To You* , *One Sweet Day* , *It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday* and *A Song for Mama*
Great names. The first one is ringing a bell.
Boyz II Men is one of my favorites bands ever. So talented....and named after a song from another favorite of mine, New Edition.
That’s so interesting Jason! I never would’ve guessed
Boys II Men's First Two Albums Cooley High Harmony and II are there most popular albums that play on the radio and music video tv. They also have sang them live at music awards.
1:28 these guys were so insanely talented, I didn’t care what they looked like
Wow, I did not expect to see Boyz 2 Men on this channel! Great music! They still tour by the way. I was a kid when they started. Their songs are still on the radio in America today. Great reaction!
I like how you're now exploring into the boy bands. Your musical explorations are always fun to watch.
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the musical Journey, Paul
1:43 so much nostalgia, insane amount of memories had this song playing in the background
I still get goosebumps EVERY SINGLE TIME! Makes me a bit emotional now that I’m older.
Boyz II Men were HUGE in the US in the 1990s. They had some amazing harmonies. For an upbeat song, I would go with Motown Philly, which was pretty huge. For slower ballad acapella tearjerker, It's So Hard To Say Goodbye To Yesterday. Another popular and great demonstration of their vocal harmonies is their cover of In The Still Of The Nite.
Early 90’s, lots of hearts broken to this song.
I’ll bet 😅
I wouldn't call them a "boy band" they were an R&B/Motown band. As I saw them was like a 90's updated version of the Tempations, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles...
I love this reaction! Your reactions are so cute! This song, and group, are amazing.
Aww thanks Phillip! I’m glad you like them
Truly a great group. Timeless and classic staying power real singing talent
Definitely
Love Boyz II Men! Memories from my childhood ❤
Finally! A group and a song that I can 💯endorse. This brought back all the feels of days long gone. I listened the heck out of their songs. Good pick!
6:32 finding a 90’s r&b song associated with an Eddie Murphy film is like shooting fish in a barrel
Boys 2 Men is a good quartet group with the comfortable easy listening jams. Very heart warming loyal song and one of their best songs. Thanks for sharing the musical journey. I enjoyed listening to the song with You.
We agree! Very well put. Thanks Rickey!
@@DianeJennings Your welcome Diane! 😊
Over 35 years these guys hit differently
7:31 Fun Fact: Boyz II Men ( _Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA_ ) and Boyzone ( _Dublin To Detroit_) both released a MoTown album where they covered some of the same songs.
GOATS of the 90's in there genre. Shout to Ireland

When the music starts, she gets in the grove
Boyz II Men are her jam, just look at her move
Wheee 🎉 luv it
Boyz II Men were the biggest selling group of the 1990s in the US.
If you love harmony groups. you would love groups like the Mills Brothers, the Ink Spots, and the Platters. Give them a listen!
how about a tour of an irish bus system, like in Dublin,
Yeah Diane, B2M were the epitome of boy band long before nsync or backstreet boys
8:10 Diane should definitely give they’re song “Motown Philly”
4:08 & now the last member, the deep one
Funny story. This song came out when I was stationed in Germany. We were out in the field and without any headphones, I would play this song repeatedly...fifty times in a row. I was in a tent with 20 other soldiers and not one of them complained when I rewound that cassette tape and played it again and again. Thank you, Diane, for keeping this song alive. I love your reactions. Your accent reminds me of my Irish soldier buddy who I had to rescue from many bar fights but yours sounds cuter.
Having now heard the stellar original it might be good to try the "Home Free" cover also incredibly good.
Boyz II Men were the biggest selling group of the 1990s in the US. This was played at every school dance in the 1990s, too.
