With effect from 1 November 2022, Citibank Berhad has transferred ownership of its consumer banking business to United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd, and all existing Citibank accounts will be migrated to UOB on 16th July 2023.
This means that all our Citi credit cards are going to be changing to UOB credits. You can continue to use your current Citi credit cards until a new UOB credit cards is issued to you. There will be no change to your card number, CVV or expiry date immediately post migration, allowing it to operate as normal.
Your new UOB credit cards will be delivered from October 2023 onwards, replacing your Citi credit cards.

@@quietlychatteringhello there, as far as i know there are no fee involved, just the standard RM 100 deposit to activate the account (which you can withdraw afterwards)😊

You don't need to create a savings account with UOB btw just need to register using your Citibank credit card number in the UOB tmrw app. I didn't have any accounts with UOB and was able to do this.

You may walk in UOB branch,spend 30min. Two different banks using two different softwares and some technical issues arised after data migration.Will take a while to update their system.

no need to open uob ac like in this vid. i just went to uob branch in pj old town and they did everything for me. the front desk lady helped every step of the way.

agree....trying for 2 weeks now to cancel my former citibank credit cards. Went to a UOB branch once, called twice and still not being cancelled. Not even being placed request to cancel. Really rubbish bank and they're like forcing you to bank with them. @@sara9064
Sorry for stupid questions, which account number should transfer for pay my citibank card? I didn’t saw any account number on the statement, there only have (Payment Account Ref : (my credit card number)
Your citibank card number is the number you need to pay it, just choose UOB as the bank instead ☺️

Better call them up to cancel it, as you will still be charged the annual fee I suppose!
Surprisingly UOB is also a mess, don't understand what customer service is. For me, it was a very bad experience.
It seems that there is no way to complain to UOB when there is a problem. The 24-hour service hotline is like nothing, no one cares about you. In the past, CITI has done a very good job with its 24-hour service hotline.
The account transition of the two banks does not require customers to do it themselves, and I don't know what their IT departments are doing. Hand over their work to the client? 😅😅😅

Very poor service indeed. I tried and the apps asked to fill up the form. fill up the form but it keeps on giving me error. "your have entered wrong info". IC, email, DoB, what could have gone wrong? Called the service center, for 2 hours just to get through. very poor service. That 2 hours trying to report suspicious transaction.
U can drop by the nearest branch to expedite the process.
@@gconceptg7486 Yes, you are right. But what is the 24-hour hotline for? The main function is to solve problems effectively on the telephone line. In the past, there were not many Citibanks in the local area, and they mainly relied on hotline services.

As of now 17 July 2023 , 9pm, UOB registration service is down. Talk about first impressions👍

Add a new payee as Uob credit card with same credit card no. In your saving bank account & pay as usual
I found this and it works. U can try. I'm paying using cimbclick for my credit card payment.
For credit card repayment, kindly ensure that the details below are selected correctly during the transfer process:-
Transfer Mode: GIRO/DuitNow Instant Transfer
Recipient Bank: United Overseas Bank (UOB) Malaysia
Transfer Type: Credit Card Payment
Account Number: *enter your existing 16-digit Citi card number*
If you had setup the 16-digit card number as favourite, choose Citibank as the recipient bank, you will need to remove the account from your favourite list and add in again with United Overseas Bank (UOB) Malaysia as the recipient bank.
I have UOB visa credit card ,and my Citibank already automatically change to UOB MasterCard at my apps.but I unable to pay new UOB MasterCard.Citibank is more user-friendly than UOB apps.I will cancel the card after my payment.

Hi Ziet, thank you for sharing this. It's really helpful . Just would like to know if we want to make payment to Citibank credit Card , just as usual to transfer to Citibank card will do right?
You have to pay to UOB BANK. Your credit card number is the same. So when you do a your payment to your citibank card, key in the existing card number but the bank must be UOB. You can test a small amount first, payment will be reflected the next day in UOB TMRW APP. Hope this help..

If you can login,click at account tab ,you can view the balance or choose details view each transaction.
If you cant login,enquire at UOB nearest branch to settle your login problem

that is the problem I am facing too. I have to cancel my Citibank favourite transfer in my bank and re-create a UOB favourite transfer. Now I am stuck as I cannot cancel my Citibank favourite transfer in my own bank pula.

But for credit card balance, yes it will reflect from citibank to UOB
Register via account number will allow only view access only..cannot do transfer..advisable to register using credit card or debit card

I could register the UOB TMRW app via my Citi credit card thru camera capture but could not pass through "Verify Secret Word" :(
Ahhh seems like a common issue, i guess only customer service/call centre can help.

@@ZietInvests I went to Citi and spoke to an officer. She said I should capitalize the first character as my username :) The "Verify Secret Word" issue disappeared but it wasn't working yet. The app prompted me with "... Service maintenance issue, please try again later ..." About 5 hours later the App works like magic.
Perhaps the IT dudes are working hard cranking the code and fixing bugs or the heavenly beings save me :) Thank you for reporting the issues ...

E-statement is not available as of now ,still in the process of updating the system as i was told so during walked into UOB recently.

I have UOB one visa credit card and citi bank card. Until today i still only able to see my existing uob one visa card only. But cant see the uob master card.

@@ZietInvests just contact uob. He said the system still under maintenance, some also have this issue. Try to see tomorrow. He also said if you want pay the monthly payment. The beneficiary bank should be uob, not city bank. The card number still the same. But i think not safe, better wait until the card appear in your account.

I think you have to wait for the new UOB card to send to you in October, then you can cancel.

I chose UOB and manage to settle my credit card
Can login to other bank portal and pay credit card > insert your credit card details (name and number) and should be able to pay
UOB app just serves to tell you (at least for now) whats your statement balance that needs to be cleared off

At first I was stuck too. Then i tried with a totally different word than my password and manage to do it. U need to set a unique secure word that is not similar with user name and pw. Hope this helps

Lemme guess. You got paid by UOB to guide users to open up a savings account which was totally unnecessary for the transition from Citi to UOB.

Create a new payee UOB credit card in your saving account with the same card no.make payment as usual.
Your Payment will reflect in UOB credit card account on the next working day.hope u understand ya.
i think a number of ppl are stuck setting up the secret word/phrase as SMS OTP can't be used to set the secret word phrase (thru the app or thru the web)

UOB app is horrible. OTP is slow to email and expire in 3 minutes. No email statement. Worse than Citibank!

well i tried register using my exisiting credit card, so it send me to a form to fill up, my IC, name, phone etc...then next page fill up my existing credit card number and pin...the moment i click next, it pop a red errod message that ask me call uob centre...just great! Anyone facing registration problem using their existing citibank card?

no idea myself but usually this sort of cash advance/BNPL loan should be deducted from the credit limit? maybe others or the customer service would know better
