Thank you for posting this, you have the best review in terms of what we needed to hear. Quite interested in the virtual card feature
Short, concise and sharp. I got all the info I needed in a single video, compared to watching a few videos from Wise themselves...that one u can put as an extra thing to consider la in the end haahahah.
Looking forward to more content.
Thank you for this. Your reviews are alaways so thorough and helpful.
Thanks for the kind words, glad it helps :)
Excellent review. Thank you.
I just want to know more about wise.
Fortunately , I found you and fall hahaha ❤
Thank you. Your video was useful. Appreciate it
My information has been compromised. Its very difficult to get in touch with customer care
Best review on Wise .. so clear with practical situations to better understand the pros and cons … keep up the good work😊
Thank you!
Thank you for all this information.
thanks for the informative video. Question: are you able to transfer back to your original funding source? For example, I plan to visit Thailand this October. If I transfer, for example, $1000 to Thai account in wise....but then found out that I only spent about $800 worth of Thai funds...am I able to transfer back that $2000 to US dollars (or my original bank source)? Thanks.
Yep you can!
Excellent, one of the best reviews that I could find. Thank You!
Glad it helped!
This video is very helpful thank you. But i have some questions.
If I send money with wise to a bank account in another country, and after a while I deactivate my account, the other person loses the money I sent?
And can I send the money directly, without keeping it in my wise wallet?
For example, I want to pay a foreign person using the money of my paypal wallet, i don't want to connect my bank acc to wise.
What should I do to make this happen?
Once you send money to someone and they receive, it should be all good. Doesn’t matter if you deactivate the account later.
You can send directly to a bank, but I don’t think PayPal is a valid payment option
This is how every review should be. Congrats!👍
Hi, good day! Can you help me,, coz my wise didn't work with my account, what should I do, tnx
Yes I do have a small problem and I emailed them and they came back within two days, problem not solved but they do operate an email.
Very well done. I have Wise already but learned a few things from this video. 👍
Glad it helped!
Hello, Thank you for the nice presentation. I am interested to know about the double identification system through cell/mobile phones, how do you manage when overseas if you do not have an international cell/mobile phone plan?
Ahh that's tricky, you'll need an internet connection for it so you gotta be connected to the internet
I have been travelling in Vietnam & Thailand, I get a local sim card upon arrival, to use WISE I have to register this new phone number, it's a bit of a hassle. Perhaps using an eSim might be a solution? Will need to check out.
I’ve withdrawn cash from atm in Thailand using Wise card and got charged 220 bhat for 3rd party bank fee. Lesson learnt not to withdraw cash unless it is urgent case.
Yep, but that’s not a wise fee they charge it for all withdrawals from foreign banks
That fee is not a 3rd party bank fee it is a foreign accounts fee - applied to all such transaction. You are warned up front on the ATM screen before you complete the transaction. So, if you went ahead it’s on you not Wise …
This change is still important regardless. The commenters need to offer lower fee alternatives. Like different cards, different atm, etc.
Is it cheaper to change your currency at the money changer or withdraw from the Wise ATM card?
@@KelvinHew7did you ever get an answer for this question? I’m wondering the same thing.
I need to learn about transfer currency online. Please help to correct me If I am wrong. After Wise account opening when comes to the transfer money internationally, Step 1. Transfer the desire amount in Wise and choose the currency the recipient to receive. Step 2. Go to my bank account to make transfer. Step 3. Wait for the money to transfer to the recipient. Please let me know if I am wrong. Thanks
You’re right! It’s pretty intuitive to use. Just make sure the recipient details are all correct :)
Thank you for this Tutorial on credit cards. It was extremely helpful
Whats the difference between personal and business account in term of amount cut or fee rate such when you receive or sending money? also are you choose your account as personal or business?
Also i have used paypal and it disappointing
Not sure, we’ve only tried personal unfortunately 😅 yeah wise is a lot better than PayPal from our experience
Are there countries within the list of places where Wise works that are especially problematic? My reason to use it is to avoid using my Canadian debit card because in Japan I get dinged with horrible FXS rate and fees. when I purchase anything from a Japanese merchant. Also, there are risks too carrying large amounts of cash anywhere.
Not entirely sure about that, but haven’t had many issues when using it in the countries we’ve been to!
which countries are those?
Thanks so much
Thanks for this video bro🙏🏻 im just started to use Wise, need ur advise on this
1 question..if let say i want to send money to someone in USD into his Wise account, what will be the best practise?👇🏼
1. Top-up my USD Acc. details 1st & send money directly using USD?
2. Top-up my MYR Acc. details 1st, then send money in MYR and convert into USD?
Which options give me the shortest processing time in order to deposit fund into my Wise acc?
Note : Currently i havent deposit any money into my wise acc (MYR & USD Account Details)
Usually we deposit straight into the usd account if we know we’ll be sending in USD.
Processing time wise I think it’s pretty similar though, just easier to go straight to USD so we can just send it after
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia Ok noted, thanks for the valuable advise. Really appreciate it 😃
My friend tells me so much about wise, she's a good friend 💌💌
have you ever withdraw money from an ATM machine in Malaysia using Wise card ? Since wise have 4 digit pin number and malaysia pin number is 6 digits, then how to withdraw ?
Never tried withdrawing in Malaysia, but did in Thailand before. Over there the pin is 6 digits too but I just put 4 digits and it worked
Hi, can I use wise digital card when pay bill at counter? At Malaysia.
Only if the merchant accepts it. So if they only have a cc terminal then you’ll need to use physical card. If they can let you provide card details then you can use digital card
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia, in order to use digital card, must apply physical card 1st? Before start to use?
very informative review. Thanks for sharing.
Pleasure!
I have my virtual wise visa card frozen, unless I'm making a txn. Sending $ is double verified with finger print and text to my phone.
That’s a lot of safety measures in place haha, good work!
I just opened a Wise acct. I don't see the option for a digital card. It has only a physical card. Do you think my account is restricted? I live in the U.S.
Did a quick search, seems like it should be available for US residents aside from those based in Nevada
Thanks for the vids, glad to know some of the real life user experience issues and tips. I've been using Wise for a year plus now, mostly for travel and transfer money overseas like Malaysia to Singapore / Australia. I too sometimes had an issue with the physical card. My tap for contactless doesn't work in some stores like Subway and had to use pin & chip instead, not a big problem but it's rather annoying. Did you managed to know what else can it be done regarding this small issue? I've read most of the FAQ anyway.
Haven’t had any luck either 😅 sometimes in Thailand both methods don’t work, so it does have its drawbacks in certain countries
May I know how to use digital wise card for in store purchase
You mean physical purchases? If so, it doesn’t work unless you can add it to Samsung/Apple/google pay
Great video! i use wise because of this video and it’s been smooth sailing for my overseas travels
Awesome to hear! We use it everytime we travel too
Im old and dont use tap and pay....Does Wise give you a pin number to use with the debit card?
Yes
Would be interested to know if you succeeded in getting your card.
Can I use wise app for QR Pay in Thailand ?
QR pay I don’t think so, it’s very limited
Great video!
Thank you, Shazwan!
I wish to transfer my AUD in Singapore account to my wise account so that I can use it in MYR. Pls advise how. Tqvm in advance
What Singapore account? Just a normal bank account? If so, you gotta to deposit via bank transfer to the wise account then you’ll be able to spend freely
Bro, I wanna use it to receive payments.
The thing is Wise Business Account isn't available in my country. Can I use Personal Account to receive money and get it in my Bank account?
I am doing a service, lets say I'm a freelancer and I wanna reveive my payment so can I use personal account for that and after receiving it can I get it in my countrys bank account?
Yes you can use a personal account to receive money
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia I'm a freelancer and I guess as a freelancer I should use business account. And there are lots of people experiencing ban after using personal account for business transactions. So, i am worried.
The client told me to send an invoice and after I send invoice and receive money. There won't be any problem?
@@LowwBatteryy I havent had any problem with it
Can I ask something about that,if u give ur password is that possible using other.
Very helpful
Glad it helped you!
Thank your for this very informative video
HI, If someone from the USA should transfer EUR to my German account ( home bank), should they transfer to my Weis account and Weis transfer to my German account? thank
Technically they could transfer the euros straight to your German bank acc if they’re using wise. Otherwise you could also go your route where they transfer it to your wise account first
OMG it has taken me 2 days of trying to get this card and I am still not approved. No wonder your friends gave up. If i din't really want this I would have given up on the first day. I just need this for my trip to bali but Ill figure out something. The enrollment is simple it is the verification, must have taken and submitted 5 different photos, my id OMG. what a frickin hassle. Just to let your viewsers know. yOur vieo was great my goodness wise needs to wise up.
Some verification takes longer than others unfortunately. Try contacting their support maybe that will push them.
Bro some reviews in Google play store some of the people facing money holding problm and suddenly deactivate problm and money refund to their account is it true ???
I think it’s standard banking stuff. If you get huge transfers and don’t clarify your source of funds it could be an issue
So this means I need a bank account overseas to transfer money? What if I don't know anyone from that country and I just want to use wise card just to pay for hotels, dining etc?
You can, just swipe the card as jormal
Good, easy to understand video, thumbs up!
Today I wanted to send my daughter who lives in Thailand some Christmas money. My Sparkasse wanted 35 € for sending 100 €! That's the fee of both banks and currency exchange. If I use WISE, does she need to have a WISE account, too?
In January I'll move to Thailand and want to transfer my savings from my Sparkasse to a Thai bank. Again, it'll cost me almost 100 € for transferring 50.000 € from bank to bank.
So I wonder if there's a cheaper way and came across WISE. But once I am in Thailand I will open a Thai account and use my Thai ATM/debit card, so is it a good idea to sign on to WISE?
What's the best way to do a couple of transfers from a German to a Thai bank? How much would a transfer of 50.000 € cost me with WISE?
I'd appreciate it if you'd take the time to answer. :)
Hello! Yes you can send from wise to a Thai bank account directly, the recipient doesn’t have to sign up for wise. They just gotta give you the banks details. Fee wise I’m not so sure, it rly depends on when you do it. Give it a try!
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia I gave it a try. Checked out their website without opening an account. Scrolled down where you can fill in amounts and currencies. Transferring 100 € to a Thai bank using low cost transfer is only 2.18 €, I'm very happy with that. But sending 50.000 € = 343,67 € - that's quite a bit more than the 92,50 € my bank charges. It says below that I could save 234.47 € which is still a bit more than my bank.
Looks like it's worth to sign up if I want to send small amounts of money.
I signed on and successfully transferred 100 € to Thailand. The money was taken from my credit card. If I want to transfer 50.000 € the same way the fee went up to 575,97 € or 1.15%.
Is the fee lower if I transfer that amount into the WISE account first?
@@PrimoStracciatella credit card is the most expensive payment option actually. a bank transfer into wise would be a lot better!
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia Okay, that makes sense! Is there a way to find out the fee without transferring the money into a WISE account?
My daughter already received the money even though I sent it yesterday afternoon when the Thai bank was closed already, and today is Saturday. Very happy about that.
Hi! I just want to ask. Is it necessary to give the email address to the sender? He is asking my email account so that he can send the money to my bank account. I'm afraid that my bank account might be hacked because I need to send the email account the one connected to my bank account.😅 is it really like that? thank you!😊
Yep it is haha, sender needs the recipients email address to send the money through Wise. Giving just your email should be fine, don't share other unnecessary info though!
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia Thank you! 💕
Is there a video on the overview of the app?
Not yet, but we can come up with one!
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysiathat will be great thanks! Also do they have turkish lira for malaysia
Can one receive money from crypto wallets on WISE account?
If you mean transfer USDT/USDC and the likes then nope, don’t think so
Thank you for this- Only one slight correction regarding account deactivation.
WISE isn't a bank, it doesn't 'take' your money in the first place...
If your account is deactivated the money is 'bounces back' or 'returned' to the last place it came from. If the money came from YOUR other account - great...it'll be in that account.
Thanks for sharing this!
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia Your welcome -and the other thing is all transactions have a transaction number, so always use the transaction number and 'missing' monetary sum , if you ever need to chase or complain 😉
Complaining is good - because you can ask for compensation for the time and emotional distress.
if you were seeing fraudulant transactions why didn't you freeze the card immediately?
I did. They all happened within minutes and I froze it as soon as I realized.
I am living in Malaysia and register phone and address in Malaysia. Can I transfer the fund from Australia to Malaysia? Thanks
Yep no issues! You just gotta get the AUD in your AUD account first then transfer it to MYR bank. It'll be converted to MYR tho
What is AUD account pls?
How do I create AUD account ?
@@user-ti9vp3pt6e if you have an acc already, just open a new currency acc within the app
How my brother in law can transfer SGD funds to my Malaysia bank account via my “wise” ?
Not sure how he does it with your wise account haha. The sgd was in your account?
SGD in brother in law bank account in Singapore
I want to know the steps to transfer funds
Ahh ok. You need to give him your SGD acc details in wise for him to transfer first. Once the cash is in wise then you send it to your MY bank acc
I've been following ur video pasal this Wise app, memang interesting lah. But, I'm a bit curious. From your personal experience, how efficient is Wise fraud protection? U said they managed to refund your lost money within 24 hrs, kan? Sounds too good to be true, no? And, do u think it's safe for us who deal a lot with foreign currency for work and travel? U mentioned about some accounts being banned without warning, sounds quite risky. Do share more, kawan!
Yes I got my refund within 24 hours which also surprised me but it was very efficient in my experience. I think it’s safe to keep money in there for travel/work. I haven’t experienced any bans personally and only heard people complaining about getting banned but if you follow their rules you should be ok.
Wise is the best
Overall, Wise is awesome.
It is!
Have you ever used the wise to withdraw money?
In what sense? You mean withdraw from wise to our bank account? If so, yes we have :)
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia like a regular debit card where you go to an ATM in order to get a cash in hand
Ahh. Did it in Thailand, never tried in Malaysia
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia I see... well, if it worked in one country, I'm pretty sure it will work with others. Thank you for the info.
Have no way of getting your money back is a scare. Seems like this card is only good for with drawing money if it is too much hassle going to a money changer
How would you compare Wise with World Remit??
Never used World Remit
can you buy a car with the wise card?
Not that we’re aware of 😅
any cashback for spending with their card?
Nope, works like a debit card haha
Credit card will give us extra cashback or more points when we spend in overseas.can that really cover those charges by bank.
Depends what bank you use and what currency you're spending in@@ongtengkee9225
@@MillennialFinanceMalaysia will you review enrich debit card for spending overseas?I am thinking that maybe 20 rm spending with this card can only get one cent value but not even ten cents. They avoid my question about the value of those points.
Honestly I don’t think it’s much haha. Let us check it out though to see if it’s content worthy 😅
tap to pay doesnt even work for me at 99 speedmart 😂😂
Glad to know we’re not the only ones 🙃
Cant you insert your card and use a pin number...
@@richardbrown9344 yes you can
WARNING⚠️WARNING please be careful with wise !! It's not the same wise that it used to be .when I tried to raise a complaint they put you on hold for long time, cut or block your calls to wise , don't reply to your emails on a complaint !! If you have or are going through this like I am please keep a record copy , date and time log , name of the person and file it with the banking onwardsmen and also seek compensation for your grief !! They seem to understand this way !!
Sorry to hear, hope you get it sorted 🙏
They took my $500. They said I was fraudulent which I am not. I am a quadriplegic trying to make a living off Etsy and Etsy required a wise account or something with 3-D secure and they suggested it. I put $500 into the account so etsy could verify my credentials then I woke up this morning Wise shut down my account and kept my money. Do not trust this company.
What happened?
You are right as I am experiencing the same. The company is horrible. They are also hiding comments and blocking people on Facebook and Social media and never resolve anything by email support. Its shocking
. Blah blah blah stop promoting such a horrible company
Wise, so poor service. And their account verify process is terrible.
You giving us hard time, now we have to convert your currency not smart next time accommodate us
Please sir I have created wise account because of your review that I watched but it’s unfortunately that I can’t able to fund my account with $20 to get it verified which is so annoying
Can you please help me fund my wise account with $20 to get it verify and I will forward the money back to you once it’s verified sir?🙏🏽🙏🏽
It's the most protected card, if u were hacked, you're dumb
If I'm dumb, what are you?
When signing up to a Wise account I forgot to use your link, now that I am trying to add your link it says smth is wrong with the link. What is you advice.
Ahh it seems like we missed the referral then. Don’t think you can ask them to add it :(
