    thanks for the informative video. Question: are you able to transfer back to your original funding source? For example, I plan to visit Thailand this October. If I transfer, for example, $1000 to Thai account in wise....but then found out that I only spent about $800 worth of Thai funds...am I able to transfer back that $2000 to US dollars (or my original bank source)? Thanks.

    This video is very helpful thank you. But i have some questions.
    If I send money with wise to a bank account in another country, and after a while I deactivate my account, the other person loses the money I sent?
    And can I send the money directly, without keeping it in my wise wallet?
    For example, I want to pay a foreign person using the money of my paypal wallet, i don't want to connect my bank acc to wise.
    What should I do to make this happen?

    • @MillennialFinanceMalaysia
      @MillennialFinanceMalaysia  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Once you send money to someone and they receive, it should be all good. Doesn’t matter if you deactivate the account later.
      You can send directly to a bank, but I don’t think PayPal is a valid payment option

    • @MillennialFinanceMalaysia

      That fee is not a 3rd party bank fee it is a foreign accounts fee - applied to all such transaction. You are warned up front on the ATM screen before you complete the transaction. So, if you went ahead it’s on you not Wise …

    Are there countries within the list of places where Wise works that are especially problematic? My reason to use it is to avoid using my Canadian debit card because in Japan I get dinged with horrible FXS rate and fees. when I purchase anything from a Japanese merchant. Also, there are risks too carrying large amounts of cash anywhere.

    1. Top-up my USD Acc. details 1st & send money directly using USD?
    2. Top-up my MYR Acc. details 1st, then send money in MYR and convert into USD?
    Which options give me the shortest processing time in order to deposit fund into my Wise acc?

I've been using Wise for a year plus now, mostly for travel and transfer money overseas like Malaysia to Singapore / Australia. I too sometimes had an issue with the physical card. My tap for contactless doesn't work in some stores like Subway and had to use pin & chip instead, not a big problem but it's rather annoying. Did you managed to know what else can it be done regarding this small issue? I've read most of the FAQ anyway.

    Good, easy to understand video, thumbs up!
    Today I wanted to send my daughter who lives in Thailand some Christmas money. My Sparkasse wanted 35 € for sending 100 €! That's the fee of both banks and currency exchange. If I use WISE, does she need to have a WISE account, too?
    In January I'll move to Thailand and want to transfer my savings from my Sparkasse to a Thai bank. Again, it'll cost me almost 100 € for transferring 50.000 € from bank to bank.
    So I wonder if there's a cheaper way and came across WISE. But once I am in Thailand I will open a Thai account and use my Thai ATM/debit card, so is it a good idea to sign on to WISE?
    What's the best way to do a couple of transfers from a German to a Thai bank? How much would a transfer of 50.000 € cost me with WISE?
    I'd appreciate it if you'd take the time to answer. :)

    • @MillennialFinanceMalaysia
      @MillennialFinanceMalaysia  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hello! Yes you can send from wise to a Thai bank account directly, the recipient doesn’t have to sign up for wise. They just gotta give you the banks details. Fee wise I’m not so sure, it rly depends on when you do it. Give it a try!

    • @PrimoStracciatella
      @PrimoStracciatella 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MillennialFinanceMalaysia I gave it a try. Checked out their website without opening an account. Scrolled down where you can fill in amounts and currencies. Transferring 100 € to a Thai bank using low cost transfer is only 2.18 €, I'm very happy with that. But sending 50.000 € = 343,67 € - that's quite a bit more than the 92,50 € my bank charges. It says below that I could save 234.47 € which is still a bit more than my bank.
      Looks like it's worth to sign up if I want to send small amounts of money.

    • @PrimoStracciatella
      @PrimoStracciatella 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I signed on and successfully transferred 100 € to Thailand. The money was taken from my credit card. If I want to transfer 50.000 € the same way the fee went up to 575,97 € or 1.15%.

U said they managed to refund your lost money within 24 hrs, kan? Sounds too good to be true, no? And, do u think it's safe for us who deal a lot with foreign currency for work and travel? U mentioned about some accounts being banned without warning, sounds quite risky. Do share more, kawan!

    Have no way of getting your money back is a scare. Seems like this card is only good for with drawing money if it is too much hassle going to a money changer

    WARNING⚠️WARNING please be careful with wise !! It's not the same wise that it used to be .when I tried to raise a complaint they put you on hold for long time, cut or block your calls to wise , don't reply to your emails on a complaint !! If you have or are going through this like I am please keep a record copy , date and time log , name of the person and file it with the banking onwardsmen and also seek compensation for your grief !! They seem to understand this way !!

      They took my $500. They said I was fraudulent which I am not. I am a quadriplegic trying to make a living off Etsy and Etsy required a wise account or something with 3-D secure and they suggested it. I put $500 into the account so etsy could verify my credentials then I woke up this morning Wise shut down my account and kept my money. Do not trust this company.
