I've known Irv for nearly 30 years. He's an excellent builder and a great friend. I still remember how excited he was on his first trip to Toledo. The year before he couldn't go, so I took a 65 Corvette he built out there for the Corvette theme and he ended up winning!!
Stance and a clean build were two of the important items when I was judging a lot of contests. Videos are great....but as much fun seeing friends walk by too!!! Thanks
Thanks for another great video. Irv is such a friendly, approachable guy. But this video has made me nostalgic for my old Sting Ray bike, now long gone.
legendary "Arter Rake" / that's exactly what me and my buddies are always talking about .. 🤠 It's like a science to first find the right set of wheels for the model, position it in the wheelhouse and then build the suspension around it.. 😎 Just exactly like Boyd Coddington was doing it all these years .. 🤗
Beautiful builds. I’m so funny about setting ride height on mine, I’ll scratchbuild complete new inner fenders, narrow the front suspension or even widen the car before I’ll build something that couldn’t steer its front wheels in the real world. I’d never, ever cut the top off a tyre. To me that’s admitting your build could not exist in the fullsize world. Put on smaller tyres and cut the body down if it looks like the wheels are too small. I’ve built slammers and kerbsides over the years but I still keep them realistic. It’s just the way I am.

Irv is a nice guy who builds great models.
Couldn't agree more!
Every car I owned had the rake look, best looking stance of all time
Another great interview. This is a great series. Preserving the history of our great hobby.
Great video ! The stance is so very important to any car of any scale !

Exactly Dave!
I am a big fan of Irv's work. I'm lucky to have one of his models in my collection...and yes...it has the rake! It's automotive art!
Irv and I go way back , we are in the same model club , he's one great builder.
Nice interview. Thanks for sharing.

Great Video!!! Beautiful builds!!!! Thanks for sharing this interview!!!!
I use the tabs off the sprues to adjust the stance. Requires some sanding usually but they work really well.
