The studio version is pitch perfect and no doubt recorded in parts and sections you can't really expect him to do that live but to be honest here he is just doing scales over the chord progression which is hit and miss lazy and not great but hey he wrote it he can interpret it how he likes
That Stratocaster celebration event was the only time ever he played that tune live (to the best of my knowledge). I guess we can give him a bit of time to get back into the groove. This was a rehearsal and it sounded really good to me. I am sure it will be smooth and coherent as the tour goes on. Great that he put that on. It is one of my favorites from the Division Bell. It sounded improvised (in a good way) on the record too.
@@franknguitars7671 Yes. I love every single note in album and 2004 version too. Both version tells the story and it makes them unique. I hope David will play it better soon. By the way i enjoy new version of Comfortably Numb played with Body Count. Hard and strong version!
@@xyzxyz997 I have no doubt about the sound and songs - I was just referring to the solos. Usually Gilmour is very relaxed and never plays the exact same solo twice.
@@tiago2189 that’s what I came to say. It was more an invite to let some fans see a preview, not a show for TH-cam. Plus this is 30 years later. I feel he’s gonna reimagine a lot of songs.
I was there! He played so many of my favourites, it was the best gig of my life!
Did he played Hey You?
I was there too and it was an incredible experiences. One of the greatest moments of my life watching 2.5 hours of Dave Gilmour in an intimate venue
What the guitar did he use, black ou red?
@@thiagossouza2580Mainly the black Strat but used his red Strat once
Oh god, I am so excited he's busting this track out for this tour! It is stunning and so, so beautiful
ITS GREAT!!!!!!!
Marooned is sooo soooo underrated! David made me buy an e guitar two years ago. I love to play this song. I wish he visited Germany as well.. :'(
Drove 6 hours there and 6 hours back from County Durham. A bucket list moment ticked.
A bucket list moment for me too, drive from Devon 9 hour round trip in a day, totally worth it!
Wow...Marooned...I hope it will be 100% on the set list
I hope so too!
I guess so since it is a short break for his voice
That guitar brings tears to my eyes. I do not know why that song was played 3 times only for more than 20 years.
It's like he is adlibbing a lot of the solos on this tour

Note to self
Computerized to the crowd at the time - Sound good never the less
I hope its soundcheck
Rehearsal that they sold tickets for.
he said the technical production will be better ❤

I honestly think he was just having a bit of fun as it was a rehearsal, I guess it's down to what "version" of marooned he plays on tour.
All melodies are part of a "scale." Ever heard a guitarist playing a solo out of key? ... that's because he or she doesn't know his or her "scales."
2004 version far better. This version is without idea and story but the guitar sound best as usual.

За что Девид так не любит "Marooned" ?
Sounds a shadow of his former self on the guitar, sadly
This sounds to me like he has almost forgotten how to play this. I hope he plays better than this when the tour starts.
Everything is like this these days... random bluesy approximations
@@olivarionlinevery harsh indeed. I was there and it sounded unbelievably good
