    Typically this is not a vehicle that would ever consider, but when I saw it I fell in love with the styling. In my old age I have become thriftier and the price would help me to overlook many flaws. When I was young I would buy the most expensive vehicle that I could afford. Now that I’m nearly 70 and don’t drive long distances anymore I look for value for the money. Good luck with this vehicle, Chevrolet!

    As someone who's put 18,000 miles on 2024 Trax 2RS like this one in the last 7 months, it's surprisingly comfortable and comes across way nicer than the rather basic transportation it could've been. The main thing I don't like is the lack of armrest/cupholders in the rear seat. I'm not someone who likes to drive slow, but it's perfectly adequate if you're not trying to floor the pedal. There's been a couple tech glitches, and they seem common, but nothing that has kept it from getting me where I'm going.

      @@cormaro13 consumer reports has honestly been an unreliable source for years now. I'm going to go with the fact that I've put almost two years worth of miles on the car in less than 8 months, even though it's not my only car... and I have had no reliability issues so far. Reliability to me is the ability to get me places, and it's done that consistently. I haven't had any issues other than a replacement radio that took maybe two hours to install. And that doesn't affect the ability to be driven, I just had to plug my phone in for a few weeks. Being a first year model, there's gonna be some lemons. But generally speaking, take care of your car and it'll take care of you.

    To be honest, if I hadn't just bought a base model Rogue, which I've been happy with (32.8mpg average over 10K miles in mixed driving), I would probably grab this in Activ trim! I like the size, the price, and the big screens. The lack of padding is a concern, but I bet there's aftermarket stuff online you can install to fix that for a few bucks.

    Thank you for reviewing the Trax. I really wanted to buy one earlier this year, but they were almost impossible to find at dealerships. When I finally found and test drove one, I would have bought it if the dealership didn’t try to overcharge me with the notorious “additional dealer markup adjustment” price above the MSRP and other needless dealer markups. Sadly, I had to pass.

    Way better looks with this model. I'm not a fan of 3 cylinder engines because of the lack of high rev power. You should certainly be getting better gas mileage in a 3cyl than what you can get in a 4 cyl (not the case here). This model does have some nice features and options for the price tho. Micah and family are quite as amazing as usual. Keep up the good work guys. 😎👍

    • @BoopSnoot

      The 1.2 is unfortunately less power AND less efficiency than the 1.3, but it is cheaper. CVTs also tend to be more economic than 6-speeds, but the 6-speed can probably go 100K miles on the original fluid, can't do that with a CVT. Car and Driver on their 75mph test registered 30mpg which is not bad. For comparison, on the Honda HRV they only got 25mpg!

    The body styling is great, the interior is nice, and it’s a great price point.
    But … a turbo three cylinder 😜 the underpowered engine, with additional turbo stress, isn’t a formula for engine longevity. 💥 I would pay extra for a V6 if it was available. The price of lower gas mileage vs. engine work is a no brainer.

    I dont understand why people sucking balls to the Japaneses cars i went to toyota dealership in KC it was basically really shitty experience! They try to overcharged for a corolla crossroad that honestly it looks everything was made it in china i got very disappointed so i went to mitsubishi to get an outlander we couldn't even drive not even one!! New cars and they didn't even started so we went to chevy with a low expectation and my wife loves this car from the beginning when we test driving, we bought it and since it's been really cool car!! Drove from kc to chicago really conformable not problems at all so far we got the trax RS2 blue fountain beautiful color by that way.

      This logic always cracks me up. Less cylinders is Always worse? Might as well get v12s then, those must be the most reliable then, yeah? Less moving parts is literally less complicated and less to break. Turbos are also fine as long as the proper upgrades are made. Diesels pretty much ALL run turbos and some go a million miles.

    I'm sure they have the market research that says otherwise, but I feel like this would be a lot more compelling if they offered AWD. They might have to bring back the 1.4 for that, though, because of the extra weight, etc.

    • @BoopSnoot
      @BoopSnoot 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Nah, being FWD only not only reduces the costs but it allows the chassis to be completely flat without needing a big transmission tunnel. The Buick should have gotten the 1.3 IMO, or the higher RS/Activ trims, I would have paid the difference.

    • @FlowStateNewOrleans
      @FlowStateNewOrleans 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @BoopSnoot I agree that the 1.4 (or better) should be offered in the Buick. Everything I've seen suggests the 1.2 isn't refined enough for a premium brand. I understand the benefits of FWD packaging. I'm not suggesting the Trax should be AWD only, but I know people who might consider this little crossover, but rule it out the minute they see it's FWD only. Maybe in the future, they'll offer a hybrid or plug in hybrid that puts some electric motors on the back wheels and allows it a small EV range.

    Thinking that the Buick Envista is more stylish and a touch more upscale than the Trax. The lack of door armrest padding and a rear center armrest is criminally cheap, at any price. The Envista has an independent rear suspension on certain trims. And WHY wont GM give Americans the option of the Trax's turbo 1.5L 4 cylinder motor that's offered in China 🇨🇳 Annoying decision, especially when you live in a mountainous ⛰️ area of the US... a 1.2L turbo 3 banger isn't enough power for a Trax with 4 adults in it. 😮
