This is what happens when a clear and consistent stand is not taken by the leadership and the rest of the party is not taken on board. Everyone then exists in a bubble of their own and unpleasant surprises become a norm. Congress will have to break these bubbles and bring everyone on the same page.

How the top leadership still trying to manipulate. Badly failed to understand Ashok Gehlot. Mr Pilot is so young so he could have been somewhat understanding and could have waited for some time.
I like Tharoor. However, he will not be able handle internal competition, conflicts without Gandhi's blessing.
On the other hand leaders like Kamal Nath, Siddaramai, Ghelot who atleast hold control over a state knows better about how to handle the infighting.
Anyway now the fight is between Tharoor and 80 yrs old Mallikarjun Kharge. Kharge is dalit leader, and from South. But too old to be meaningful.

Unfortunately there's fragmentation in secular parties both within the same party and with allies but different communal parties are United on both fronts as the saying goes "United we stand divided we fall".
Shashi tharoor is a not bad option..I think kharge is a too old for the post and gehlot should be sacked. Because of Sachin Congress won in 2018 in Rajasthan.
