The Game Chasers are 2 friends hunting for retro video game in flea markets, garage sales, game stores and people's homes! And they are a bunch chodes
Billy under anesthesia for dental work “Are you sure you aren’t just killing me, and then reassembling me?”
That's more rational than thinking about teleporters funny enough. Because it's actually relevant to our society. I do hope Billy is okay! He puts out a lot of great entertainment for us, I just hope he's being farcical and not really worried about this kind of planted consciousness stuff, it's a slippery slope of mental degradation.
Infinity Pool vibes with the cloning.
I've held Billy's stance on transporters for a very long time too. Imagine the sensation of dying over and over and not even knowing, yet feeling it every time.
How are they transferring consciousness and memories. Kinda dumb imo.
@@Mephianse81 Maybe our brains can just compress data further than we can with our conventional technology at the moment. You can transfer data from one hard drive to another with mmagnets. Who knows, Im not the one inventing it lmao.
@@bl3ivids lol
But you won't "feel" it "again and again". Just one time. The other times it's the various clones that will die. Each clone will experience death once.
@@Imgema Yeah I get you, but the clone is still you, right? So each clone will feel it. So it will be felt each and every time. If death has a feeling that is.
Sounds like Ghost in the Shell on steroids & I actually kind of want to see that as a thing at some point if ever possible. 😂
Can't believe I put my crack pipe down for this
Billy has watched the prestige and it has changed him forever haha , basically his view is a large part of that movie . Love that movie
I was thinking the same thing.
Actually never seen it
@@TheGameChasers it’s a solid flick. Your transport fear is a key part of it.
This video really killed some of my braincells!
And your brain cells never got a chance to go anywhere
You guys should play SOMA. It's an underwater survival horror that entertains this idea of teleporters.
I'm tired of the transporters turning the frogs gay
I thought that you dying was pretty much cannon since there were 2 Rikers . Idk how you can say its the same matter being transported, when riker was fully cloned and found out he had been trapped on a planet for years before they figured it out and someone came to save him. Looking it up the episode was called "second chances" of star trek the new generation. If matter can't be created or destroyed, in my eyes the teleporter just disassembles you, and then sends the info to be built at the next transporter.
Love this new content concept. Would love more casual conversation, like the simple banter leading up to the transport convo.
Balance this with the heavier stuff as well - e.g., hopes, dreams, fears, failures, past, present & future. The unspoken melancholy of nostalgia. Impact on relationships. Showmanship in collecting culture. Collector burnout & evolution. You could then invite others from throughout the industry and ask them for their take on the same or similar questions - why do we collect, how does this impact and benefit us, and what does/can it turn or evolve into.
Melvor's question on a previous episode, asking "how did that make you feel" still stands in my memory as an enlightening, translucent, and forward-thinking moment.
Whatever this evolves into, best wishes to everyone on the continued pursuit and elevation of our own life satisfaction. Thanks for all the hard work and sacrifice.
I never had anxiety about transporters, but thanks to Billy now I do lol
I was in the Airforce in the 90's . My dad was in the Navy in the 60's . He was always asking me if I saw any aliens or spaceships 😅 .
Did you?
You gotta wonder what's wrong with these guys.
Soild point
Too much BBQ🍖
too much southern education.
That is a great discussion title for these vids “What’s wrong with these guys”
What if the transporter can copy you physically but it kills off your soul. Cos we exist in nine dimensions they'd have to copy everything about you in all nine dimensions not just the four we currently know.
I love these vids, makes me feel like I'm hanging around BS'n with my boys. Keep them up Billy!
I could listen to Billy talk about transporters for hours. It would be interesting.
Dude I love how you made that toy gremlin give Billy side eye you should add more stuff like that in the show.
Im way to stoned for this shit.
Now I know who to call to graze the leaves off my trees
I think Billy's transport clone came thru from the future with a false memory of the whole Air Force thing which explains Melvor's confusion about it. 🤔😂 Great episode guys 👍😎 #Roswell #LittleAliens #LockedSecretRoom
I so so, much love these! And it means so much. More consistent uploads, which mean mores algo for you. That is a must. I thought you guys had ten times more followers.
I know you guys have had microphone issues, but it's definitely sounding a lot better. Keep up the good work 👍🏻
Actually editor, the Stargate does have a buffer. There is an episode where Teal'c pattern gets trapped in it and they have to divert traffic away from Earth's gate to preserve it.
What are you trying to dispute because I say that exact thing....
Consciousness/spirit can travel instantaneously, so once your body is cooked up on spot B, you'll just jump back in like a vehicle. Unless you get carjacked by a walk-in..
If your molecules are being copied and not just transported, then surely your memories wouldn't register either.
I have had this same concern with transporters for years....
That's the plot from Multiplicity.
Rob is so fun to have on this!
For someone who does not like Star Trek, you nailed the thoughts of Reginald Barclay from Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Billy has seen Star Trek The Motion Picture or The Prestige either way I trust his judgement on the matter. LLAP 🖖🏻
The transport need to work closer to the speed of light than the electricity of your atoms.
Dude what if Data from Star Trek was replicated into existence. Can you make life from nothing like that? If a transporter can reanimate your body and transplant thoughts and memories, surely it can just do that without a base image to work from?
Best conversation I have heard for a while. Deep stuff.
Star Trek has done stories about the exact stuff you’re talking about for transporters. Their body gets destroyed, and it’s their consciousness that’s transferred
If that's actually even remotely true, why the hell would anyone ever do it? If the original REAL you is being killed by the damn thing, why would you ever even want to?
@@Retrorevelations
There’s been a few stories about this, but I think 2 had problems where it left 2 copies of the person
If you transport at speed of light in a very short distance. You'd never know you died. Getting a shot at Dr's office would still be more painful. As for memory cells, no idea that can be cloned. That would be interesting, then implant memory cells in general to make people smarter.
Yup. Billy gets it. That thing will just clone and then kill you. It makes more sense than particles "teleporting" along with your own conscious.. The clone will never realize what really happened since the memories of the original person are still intact inside him. For the clone and the outsiders, it will look like a trip. For you who stepped in the teleporter though... just the nothingness of death.
I would never use one regardless. I've never liked the transporter device!
the beginning has me shaking lol
Data teleportation is possible with quantum teleportation, you would have to download your conscience into a backup, map your biological makeup and dna, then use qbit teleportation to teleport you as a qbit stream to a remote location then recreate your bioorganic matter and then redownload your conscience.
Way to talk about this stuff as if any of it was actually possible.
@@Retrorevelations Just because you don't understand the Berkenstein bound, and how quantum data teleportation works, doesn't mean its not plausible. We are already working on quantum data teleportation and have been for 2 years. We have entire teams setup inside Cisco to make this work along side quantum computing. We have petaflop computing systems now and to think we have programs like CRISPR and the human genome project and we cant rebuild an entire human from a single strand of DNA is obtuse. The issue is if humans have souls that throw's a big wrench into the mix.
To be fair there is already plenty of existing theories about ST transporters (in the shows even!) but I've never really put much into those discussions, but now that a non military maga guy has laid it all out, it sounds so deep and thought provoking!
I love how you guys have gone down this crazy rabbit hole of teleporter theories. 😀😀
Now, what if all that happens every time you go to sleep
What happens if it happens every time you take a breath? Just a never-ending series of questions. It's best to not lose sight of reality when talking about hypotheticals.
We all saw what happened to President Skroob.
The guy in The Fly tried it…..didn’t workout too well lol.
If a tree falls in the woods…does it make a sound? Or is it silent so the Simulation can conserve RAM?
This gave me serious Gator Poon vibes.
I'm not using a transporter because I saw the movie the Fly.
I've thought of this as well in terms of Star Trek. BUT I would have to assume if they've reached the point of developing that technology they would have a very clear understanding of the physics behind it and what exactly is happening during the process. Which leads me to one of two conclusions, either A. no, it doesn't kill you, it is 100% you dissembled and put back together on the other side. Or B. Yes, you DO die, it is a copy but the world of Star Trek is just morally okay with that. Either way, I think they would fully understand it.
Scotty was stuck in a transporter for 75 years. I really don't see how it kills people, most examples people give are actually just storms or weird shit fucking with the transporter making it work not as intended.
What happened to the season. 8 video ??
The Prestige. Movie
Enough deep thinking and more farting please!
Transporter 1984 I'd watch it 😂
If your consciousness gets put into the copy of you, is it really being killed?
Scientists did not transport any particles. The same kind of particle was already othe othe side. They teleported what is called the "quantum state" which is really just what the particle is doing and its information
i love these videos!
Brilliant discussion
Quantum teleportation could make a perfect copy but it would destroy the original. Billy is right.
Is pooping a form of teleportation?
Correct, you would have to perfectly understand consciousness and how it relates to the body-- something that scientists can not be trusted to do, because of their bias towards materialism. It's also possible that your consciousness would just switch bodies. I would never roll the dice though.
I understand what you were saying but in my mind im just thinking "billy couldnt join the military because he was to poor" lol
An updated more AI version of invasion of the body snatchers.
I want another one to be about jefferies tubes. Thank you
All of this is outlined in the terms and conditions that no one reads
I'm on Billy's side on this. I'd rather take 6 years to get some place then 2 nano seconds in a transporter.
Maybe you would like to take trains or boats instead of planes too, huh? Obviously we don't know what a possible teleporter for human matter can be because the technology isn't understood yet. Once it is, we'll be able to understand how it works, so this discussion is just baseless to me because it's talking about a non-existent technology that may or may not ever exist. Everything new is scary, try to show someone from the BC era the technology we have today and they'd think it was a sign from the devil. It's just a level of unfamiliarity that is striking the fears you have...
"Once it is". I love it. People thinking that "oh it was done in fiction, OF COURSE all these things will eventually be possible!"
@@Retrorevelations I like that you are a skeptic.
Game Chasers Time
I dont care, I'm still jumping right on into that transporter. You guys just have transporter phobia. Don't try abbreviating that phobia either. There will be all sorts of problems lol
Is the other guy some relation to eric?
...still better than Clerks 3.
This kind of sounds like a schizophrenic breakdown to me. How can you go through life with this rationale? How can you prove that when you go to bed, you don't wake up having died the night before and you are a copy now? None of this seems very rational to even think about to me. Please, everyone, seek help if you go through life with this kind of thinking if it is a major concern to you. It's one thing to think about it in a philosophical way, but don't lose sight of the ball that is in front of you. Obviously we don't know what a possible teleporter for human matter can be because the technology isn't understood yet. Once it is possible (or not), we'll be able to understand how it works, so this discussion is just baseless to me because it's talking about a non-existent technology that is referring strictly to science fiction media.
OR, maybe just never be stupid enough to let anyone "beam" you anywhere.
When you go to bed you are not having your body's matter desentigrated and then reconstructed again in another place would a good reason why I don't worry about it when I sleep....
That’s true but it’s not based on reality and is just science fiction.
Well well well
umm... i think its teleporters?
.... right.....
You get turned to radio waves duhhh
I love you Billy, i really (no homo) really really do, but dude, just don't get into an argument with Melvor, he's just on a different level from you bro
MELVOR FOREVER!
4:16 to 4:33
. . . . . ah shit.
Why don't you guys just come to Michigan. Weed is legal here.
More of this
guys hes not jeff epstein lol
Not been funny, but how much longer some of us are we going to wait for our dvd copy of your movie. We're not getting any updates nor shipping notifications. 2023 it's nearly over and nothing yet, instead of spending time on the camera, how about you deliver what you promised. A lot of us had enough of waiting and feel we got ripped off. Do the right and get it sorted now
You're thumbnails why did you stop manipulating your Faces with the computer now your face is just normal ......why ?........🤣
Kinda a like a replicant....
you guys are smarter than you look
your thought process is all wrong. You are thinking of 20/21st century issues on tech thats likely in 23/24th century. We would be remiss to keep these ideals while we are capable of teleportation and higher scientific principles.
This transporter talk is pretty woke guys calm down. If the government catches wind of this you'll end up trapped in area 51 with the greys 😂
If it's a perfect copy, what's the problem?
Perfect copy is still just a copy. More of a philosophical issue than a practical one, I guess.
There is no problem because this is completely hypothetical and not based on anything in reality.
