@@NostraFnDamus countertenor is 'just' a choice of technique, all countertenors have a 'regular' voice, and all men could learn to sing countertenor (from what Anthony Roth Costanzo said in a previous interview). Jakub obviously has an amazing voice though :)

Yes! Polyphony with him singing all 4 parts. I've never seen this done. It's like watch Roman Kim play Eine Kleine all 4 parts on the violin, which is staggering.

I went to his concert in Wigmore Hall in London just before Covid started. He's an amazing singer and also a very witty and relaxed person. The audience was literally enthusiast of his performance.
Once God created a perfect singing angel, he decided to create other three, so the four of them could sing in harmony.
Who would have thought that he had just as well a developed baritone register as his countertenor? I am very impressed!

WHAT!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! Dear God, what a gift! This young man exceeds anything imaginable. I can’t stop - and won’t - watching and listening. Every viewing yields even more aspects of an exquisite work of art. Just one part is so beautifully crafted - so all 4!? It would be great to have been able to see how he did this. I have been enthralled by this man since my first hearing. I can only say that a man with his talent - speaks many languages fluently; knows each part to the point that he is “living” it as he brings it forth; he has a complete understanding and depth of knowledge of each word and expresses it and makes it come alive with an almost unheard of realism; his rapport with his fellow musicians conveys - particularly with their faces - that they are having a good time; his charisma and charm are contagious and he makes you smile; he is an incredibly attractive man who has no problem with using gestures with his hands, head - his whole body - to bring a vocal experience that stops you and brings you into it; he takes blending to a new level with all the other instruments - as we see here. The period instruments and their players are awesome also. Great music now has a Rock Star! Let us pray that he continues to share with us and enhance our lives for an extremely long time.

I suspect that a good few of them are insecure males who feel that counter-tenors are 'unmanly', and so, as 'real men', they (the 'dislike' voters, that is) have to stake their disapproval. I love the performance!

This feels really healing. I always come back to this when I need my energies put back together in line. Never really thought about it, but it does make a huge difference if you hear the whole range by the same person, as it might resonate perfectly. Very interesting.
