This is amazing what you have built here. So many ideas on what can be built especially what you have done with the diner area. Something I don't remember seeing before.
Or an ability to download settlements that other people made. When I first found Starlight Drive in I thought "yeah this is perfect I'm gonna build a whole city. Then I can't even figure out where to start. I built a couple of square warehouse buildings and lost all hope. How do people build this stuff?
This place looks great dude, has a real busy vibe to it. I love the ball track pieces hugging the stairs, makes for some cool visual interest. I like how you used a mix of different building textures, like the vault pieces mixed with boxcars and so on. Nice work!!!
Thank you Eze, I will probably add some and reconstruct ALOT more for a potential 2.0 build. since learning there were alot more no mods builders out there like you, sheck, and jet, I'd like to apply more unique visual interest and give each building more distinction and flair. I'm not too satisfied with the actual building interiors yet either, part of that is just figuring out ways to get junk items to not fall through the floors and part of it is thinking of creative ways to put them so settlers don't knock them over.
I build a box & drop the necessary number of beds inside. Pepper a few turrets. Give them water & some crops, maybe shops sitting out on the concrete, call it a day. Hats off to whoever has the patience or the wizardry necessary to get things to stay on shelves. I tried it & gave up after the third or fourth time.
You have for more patience than I to have all your followers yakking at you from the same settlement. I actually installed a mod that reduces the number of times they talk based on your settings. I haven't really tested it yet because I don't use multiple followers and I don't tend to keep them in the same place (I actually try to send the ones that have their own bases back there). I love Starlight Diner. It's my favorite build spot. Hats off to you for another awesome build!
I saw you comment on Benson Yee's fireplace vid. I just briefly scanned through this vid and it looks interesting. I'll check it out fully in a day or two when I find time. It's always good to see new no mods builders
Right on! Its an honor to have caught the attention of a no mods master. The build itself was simply meant to limit test the settlement population which took alot of time but am I no means proud of the interiors and overall building quality.
Huge and very detailed build. I am absolutely amazed how smooth your frame rate is given everything you built up! Also, did you have to use console commands to get Tina there?
I feel like what I appreciate most is just how immersed you feel walking through the streets of your settlements. Theyre not crazy decorated in every room or anything but what you would see as a player is touched. I guess thats sortof the Disney Parks philosophy. When youre in one of your settlements its designed in a way to keep eyes drawn inward towards the settlement and not outside towards the wasteland. Edit: Also how in the hell did you get all those unique npcs in the settlement as well as raiders w/ settlers?! Edit2: That Unstoppables display was so genius
Now this looks like a town instead of a settlement, nice. Not sure if house walls will stop raiders or super mutants, but I like the concept of using buildings as protection. I'm more a fan of big walls with walkways all around and large guard towers, with plenty of guards on them and inside all the buildings and such. But it's mind blowing what you did with the place. Did you plan this out with actual plans before making it? Or did you tinker on, seeing where it would lead you?
thanks, I did plan this out with the blueprints drawn on a piece of paper with a few adjustments along the way but I definitely wished I changed a couple of things, mainly the center of town should be more open. I definitely noticed my lack of walls, but I wanted to focus on having a big city. In terms of roleplaying, the biggest danger for the town is actually more the caravans being ambushed outside city walls, since a town built on a drive in theater can't sustain itself for very long.
That's super impressive dude ... how long ... how many hours does it take to build a site like that ... do you predesign it on paper and pencil first ... or just wing it?
this particular build was more of a wing it type deal. Other builds usually have some kind of blueprint I follow. I'd say this build took longer than my sanctuary (330 hours) since I didn't really know what I was doing and I changed alot of buildings along the way
