I owned 3 BMWS and 2 Camrys and I learned that the German engineering is you have to do and follow the all manufacture requirements like doing certain maintenance at certain mileage or replace certain part at certain time no matter how expensive it is you have to do all that no matter how expensive it is unlike Japanese engineering it’s designed to benefit the public and how the car still runs in it’s worst conditions ever because you might not be close to home or a repair shop near … but the ride and the performance in bmw is a lot better than Toyota by a lot but of course everything comes with a price .

I feel like the worst your experience with your own X5, the harsher your BMW comments have become over time. The newer generation of 4 and 6 cylinder BMW’s are fairly reliable if maintained. Don’t buy a V8.
I totally agree and I have also created videos on that topic. The b58 and B48 engines, while not perfect, do put out more power and so far appear to be leagues more reliable than the old n54 and even better than the older n55. V8 in the n63 is fun, but a pricey little so and so for the long term. Lease or sell after 3 years only.
BMW is fun to drive… if you can afford the maintenance/repair for the long run. Some owners lie that maintemance they had is oil change. They forgot the brake pad, rotor, diif oil, etc.
Im the worst person to tell you bought a new car. It hurts when they say BMW or Hyundai. Ive learned to say oh thats great for you! Instead of going into the problems of their specific model 😂 BMWs dont do too well in AZ. The heat cooks all the plastics and newer BMWs have alot of it. I love it when people tell me their pre 100k BMW is reliable. Ive known some over 200k but very rare compared to a Toyota or Lexus that you find over 200k miles all day in any state.
If you properly take care of a BMW it will last, meaning. Do your maintenance or your maintenance will do you in. 😂😂😂😂 some owners neglect BMW’s and just keep driving them and driving them and that’s how you tare them up. 💯
2013 BMW X3, bought with 95k miles, I’ve only ever done preventive stuff, yeah, little expensive, but in terms of reliability, it’s never broken down, never had an issue with weird noises or performance. So instead of paying HUGE corrective maintenance costs, I pay HUGE preventative maintenance costs and never stress about my car breaking down.
Typical BMW. In reality, a money pit. People buy that junk for a status symbol. Buffy and Skip don't care about money, it's more important to keep up with the Joneses down the hill. My brother had one and it ended up with a busted piston. Fortunately for him he's mechanically inclined, and able to do the labor himself. Still, the parts were costly. Heaven help my brother if he had to take it to a mechanic! He sold it after it was fixed, and ended up buying a Toyota truck instead. LOL!
Im on my 5th BMW(750i) and I would say the only one that ever gave me any issue was my 2008 335xi. Other than that, They have all been great, even after driving some well over 100k.
Exactly why I pick Lexus and Acura over BMW, Audi or MB/AMG. Lexus and Acura have considerably less power and in some cases less luxury interior, but I would rather be able to enjoy a little less power yet still enough to have fun and go fast for years without major issues, vs have more power and status but spend half of the time In a repair shop and on the side of the road. What good is 500+-700+ hp if you can’t enjoy it for a long time without paying an additional car note in repairs? (Enter the argument that people buying euros aren’t worried about ownership cost cuz they have money)

You guys are shopping for the wrong car with the budget you guys have. Better off getting a used 2020 accord and using that down payment instead of buying the 328. Gonna be cheaper in the long run and you have a better platform 4 cylinder. Coming from an m6 owner too, any 328 you find for sub 5k is mostlikely gonna be a trash box 9/10 times.
Had a 2015 bmw 528i Xdrive. I had 0 problems honestly. Owned for 5 years
I really don’t get this. I have never ever heard anyone have any problem with a BMW. Is this an American thing? I have a 2015 1 series. It’s not old ofc but never had any problem with it whatsoever. Not like British or American cars…………

My wife and I just bought our 3rd BMW. The first two were pretty reliable requiring only oil changes, brakes, and tires. The first one we kept till 93k miles.

That is true, have you ever done a valve stem seal change? The seals cost 40 buck, the tools cost 500-1000 buck. Will probably take you a few days if you havent done one before. Valve stem seals are notoriously bad on the n46 engines. If you accidentally drop the stem into the cylinder or didnt change the colar bolt and it snap LOL!!. Yep do it yourself.
Can you do one for Mercedes… I tempted to buy one this year
