Now I have confidence. Thanks to Randy, Big Al and MWM's influence, I recently purchased a slightly flooded 1998 Chevrolet Lumina LTZ w/ the 3800 V6 from IAA Auction here in South Atlanta, GA. Very clean and rare car. 112k miles. The engine and trans are fine. The car must have been butt down on a slight incline because the trunk and back seat areas were damp. The front seats area and again engine and trans shown no signs of flood. My cousin and I did the Big Al and Randy special by pulling all the interior out and cleaning it. Did and oil change, no water in the oil and a did trans fluid drain and fill. The trans had no water in it either. Thus far, the Lumina is running strong. We are just waiting to do the Georgia Emission testing on it and it'll be another clean old 90s FWD GM car back on the road.😊 Again, thanks Randy and MWM for the influencing (and teaching) on stepping out on faith and taking a risk at buy a flood car from auction. I plan on finding another flood car.😊
They have certainly given me ALOT of knowledge when it comes to tinkering on older cars and flood cars. Ive taught myself everything I know just by doing it . Cant wait for the day I get to find me own flood car to tinker with ! Also good job @southside!
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds I hope that Stang works out! I have your kind of luck too LOL, if it ain’t one thing, it’s another! I will say, you did persuade me to buy a cheap police car from auction, and it’s the very same one that was posted on the Scotty Kilmer channel recently!
That fuse panel is the boty control module. Ford offered to replace mine for 1500 dollars. That controls everything that's not working. It has to be programmed once installed.
I believe your voltage on the fuse problem is a ground issue. It’s causing a “ground loop” where it finds an alternate path to ground! Clean up ALL your grounds.
Your meter is beeping because you are introducing voltage while in continuity mode. It's protecting itself. The voltage seemed to be dissipating on the load side of that fuse, probably capacitors draining.
That’s the bcm in the lower passenger footwell area that your referring to as a fuse box. Which could likely be the problem. But the bigger issue is you need either FORScan or fords ids software tool to do all the modules relearn procedures before they will operate and communicate properly.
The require insurance for basic financial and medical payment coverage for young children like Nick will be higher and most case is much higher than what the car worth!
@ When I was young in the late 70's in some city like Philadelphia, PA the premium for basic coverage for me is about 1.5K per year while my brand-new Mustang or Dodge Charger cost about 5.5K (not 55K as it is now in 2025)
Told ya weeks ago to change out the kick plate fuse box... My 2015 f150 had the same problem.. Before me they had replaced the motor and shoved the truck outside without the hood on it and it had rained and got wet. It first started out with the wipers quit... then the horn quit working and a couple other things. $800 later and a new fuse box it was back.
Somebody is getting a great fixer upper driving Mustang with good motors for the convertible top. Ready for the last few repairs. Saved from the scrapper. I bet a father and son will pick it up and have a blast fixing the last odds and ends.
Hope you can get any car fixed n running I love your content n videos even tho there’s haters sometimes but this dude right here has the best car content videos out there just wanted to say thanks for showing us content n goin out your way for us much love bubba 💯‼️❤️
Take the defective motors apart and try to fix them. They might just need to be cleaned and lubed, and clean the contacts on the rotor. Just like a window motor.
I had an 2004 expedition that had a problem with the same module you are talking about, they don't make them anymore, but you can't rebuild them or buy and use one. At least for my vehicle, they don't make them anymore, but I found a company on eBay that can fix them. I sent it to them and they fixed the problem.
That’s brilliant Randy I like these types of videos fella the way it is now at the start and the finished result man only at the start now Randy and I’m sure this is gonna be a really good upload to watch and this mustang will definitely be a decent vehicle once all completed and will run and look 👀 good too and to be fare that mustang would be a nice little vehicle for nick Randy when it’s all done and he would of had enough driving under his belt by now to he a good kid to fare play to nick man thanks for another great video fella awesome!.👌👍👍
From experience when I work on flood cars, I just order every single computer in module cause nine times out of 10 they are damaged especially if it’s salt water. I just got a 2014 Ford dump truck from Tennessee see hurricane flood and I had to replace every single computer because the water was over the dash and it’s a Ford F550 RCM is restraint control module so basically airbag computer
Yet again another great video and man that mustang looks sooo good all cleaned up and i do love the color of it and it would be a perfect car for nick just needs a few odds and ends fixed on it and she will be good to go. And u aint gonna find any mustang like this for 8 grand no where u had got a deal on that baby and im sure that module is the culprit of to why all the contorls aren't working i bet u get that replaced and put in and programmed everything will work like its supposed to. And i would love to have that mustang. Anyways hopefully u can find that part and it fixes the issues. And thanks for sharing keep up the great work much love to ya randy have a good one take care see ya on the next one
I think randy the amount you have spent already on modules etc then you should replace that one as the automatic top is a big thing that people would expect. Also it can be fun for you to actually find out if that is the problem ;)
Don't like modern Mustangs but it's still cool to se you save this car as people just throw them away more often than they should :) only time I junked a car well a personal car was when it reached 557.000 miles it still run and drove . I drove it onto the bridge and watched it before crushed
Randy I say slowly take your time on the mustang to get everything communicating with each other then take it to that bodyshop maaco in Tulsa you will definitely get some money out of it! I want to see the supercharged GT and Cobra and have them bring it to life! 🔥🔥🔥
The car is new enough to where if you replace a module I’m pretty sure it needs to be programmed to the car. I could be wrong. I’m just guessing keep up the good work love these cars.
If you want to diagnose these newer cars, you need the manufacturer scan tool, or a 3rd party equivalent. FORScan with the appropriate connector will get into the modules and let you see the exact codes and program some things. Like the APIM (the module on the back of the screen) has to be programmed for the correct options installed in the car. It's possible this car didn't have satellite radio, but the donor car did (or vice versa), which is why it didn't do anything. FORScan is going to show missing expected modules and whatnot.
You could get a carpet and seats from salvage yard near you somewhere Randy but I’m sure you know that man, was just saying incase you could come across one cheap enough near you there and yea with the out side looking that well and the interior then if you did get a decent cheap interior for it it definitely would be worth tackling them issues with it Randy and it would be a great little car for nick man if he likes it and would have it for sure!..👌👍👍
Hey randy. Its just a window motor. You can bypass the module. Send voltage to it by switch and have a reverse switch .its no big problem. Let me know. Just until you replace module.
BCM works , it reported loss of communication with APIM. I would suggest just to disconnect all connectors and check for green crusties /clean them with electric cleaner - deoxi before ordering new module.
Randy, when it comes to the radio giving you issues.. I recently had the same issues with the SYNC system in a F150. I replaced the radio receiver that I purchased off of eBay. When I did that, the knobs, my sound came back, everything was back to how it was supposed to be. Hope this helps.
Honestly 175$ for a sunroof motor sounds like a steal, I just paid 200$ for a new “TED” blower for my drivers seat back rest in order to get the heated and cooling seat feature back. 🤣
Good afternoon Randy I just saw your video on the 2015 black Mustang did you have the convertible you’re doing a great job on it and I know it’s giving you problems with all the electronic issues but I can’t wait to see your new purchase that you’re getting so you’re right on about getting rid of this black Mustang and waiting for the other one to be shipped I’ll be looking out for that video I just wanted to tell you my opinion I think you’re doing the right thing about sending the black Mustang down the road and waiting for this new purchase that you bought and putting that one on the channel so I’ll be looking out for that video whenever you end up doing that video I’ll be looking out for it but anyhow, I hope you have a great day and I’ll talk to you soon see you man

I'm like Randy, I'm old school also even though I'm only going to be 36 this year still when I became old enough to drive none of this technology was around. Everything was simple and straightforward. You didn't have to go into a million screens just to do one simple thing. Everything was laid out with labeled buttons.lol
Watching Pine Hollow channel makes me think that one module is taking down a portion of the CAN bus. Maybe try disconnecting the down modules one at a time to see if the others will come back online. Just a thought….
That Stang is beautiful IMO. I would love to buy it for my wife who is a Mustang fanatic. But I'm not that rich or mechanically inclined, lol. I could fix it eventually but I prefer not to worry with it. As for me I'm more the old Impala type. My favorite is the 64 model but that 66 is a very nice consolation prize, lol. Especially with it being the SS, I'd take it over the 64 that I love so much.
That car flooded should have been $2k tops. It was for sure too expensive. It did clean up well. I fixed a flooded 2010 Mini and that passenger footwell module in it was the cuplrit-changed it out and it started right up, everything working now.
I believe you're right on with the BCM in the passenger foot well. Ford calls it the Body Control Module or Battery Control Module. You're probably not getting power to those buttons because of it. If you can get a wiring diagram, see if you've got all powers and grounds. Also a CAN bus diagram to see how the CAN bus is routed. If one module is fried, it could interrupt the communication for the rest of the modules. RCM is restraint control module (Airbag computer). If power is missing from the modules that it says are not communicating, that is the reason. Get a wiring diagram before you replace any more modules.
Randy when u got that mustang I too u it was perfect for Nick. Awesome for nick probably better than the Saab even tho I like the Saab to. Hopefully insurance is cheap for him.
I would replace that body control module in the passenger footwell area, go to a junkyard with Mike and grab one from an another Mustang. That thing was under salt water and the EEPROM in it is messed up.
I have a 2004 navigator one day it rain hard non of my electronic n powers seat work turn out the sunroof leaked water in to the same location n got the fuse box wet I replaced it n everything came back to life so I agree randy is that fuse box

The Maserati ghibli is basically a Chrysler 300. So your pcm pin out should be the same.
If I remember correctly from my old 2017 Mustang, if you open the door, it'll automatically trigger the brake lights and some of the front lights to enable briefly.
So what I'm saying is that I think it's not related to the flood damage, and it's just operating as expected.
Fairly certain those modules need programmed to your VIN. I replaced the AIPM in a 14 f150 and it had to be coded for my vin.
You should finish this Mustang - if that 1 module fixes everything it would be a fully working car. You can do it.
