Yea bro Its not like buddy isn’t a mechanic thats been fixing and flipping cars of all types for his whole dam life…building a reputation reputable enough for near half a million subs. But thats not the obvious and you’re definitely not a donkey.
I worked at a Ford Dealer 30mins north of Spring Hill 20 years ago and I’m pretty sure I’ve serviced this car before. The whole time watching this I remember a 92 Aero white on red in perfect condition that would come in with a Flammer Ford decal on it. As rare as they are and to see this now in OK on a TH-cam channel I watch gives me goosebumps.
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds that year white with red interior, I’ve not seen another since then so I would image not that many. I’ve seen a couple with blue interior way back then, not now of course but red there was only the one. If that’s the same car, I’m very happy to see it still going strong and still in good shape. Glad the rtard delivery driver didn’t ruin it.
Crank or cam signal missing, that part on the fender well is the ICM. If it runs with the SPOUT disconnected, it's usually a bad module. Its the equivalent of blocking off the vacuum advance on a distributor. So it is gonna run with base timing only. Swapping ICM will probably fix it
The crank signal should be there because the EDIS module will independently signal the coil packs with just a crank signal. Spark timing is adjusted by the ECU through the SPOUT, so leaving it unplugged has the EDIS at base timing like you mentioned, but the ECU has no idea, so it adjusts the injector timing that is no longer in sync with the spark and runs poorly. I bet you're right that something like the cam sensor or another module is bad, giving an implausible signal to the ECU that kills it.
So rare to see these early 90s Panthers today. Gotta love that red velour interior! It was an interesting time, when the exterior looked modern but the interior was definitely a throwback to old school American luxury. These are great cars.... when they haven't been flooded!
you gotta keep this car dude, from the red interior to the package, and the low mileage, this has got to be a staple in the collection for years to come, and not only that, you might never find another panther like this again, aero vics are pretty hard to find from the start, but this many miles is even harder, for sure a keep!
Or if it's a police interceptor and a detective vehicle, it probably spent a lot of time idling and that could explain the engine wear and tear with low mileage.
Your right, it is a police cluster, but I don't think it's a police car. the cluster has probably been swapped as the 92 cluster only reads to 85MPH. Look for P72 in the VIN to know for sure.
@@jjstein1976ableyup only way that cluster is of to the car if it was a detective vehicle even then I don’t think they came with cloth seats definitely not that color definitely had a cluster swap and probably the ecu also
Holy shit!!! Flammer Ford of Spring Hill I grew up about 2 miles from there!!!! Me and my buddies as kids would ride our bicycles up to that dealer to look at the new models when that came out!!!
i miss my 1992 Mercury Grand Marquis, that car was a tank, was vandalized 2 times, tree fell on it, still ran until the insurance company totaled it in 2012 due to a hit and run accident.
oh my good Lord. It takes real patience to handle people like that who don't care what happens to somebody else's property when getting it unloaded. Lord forgive me, I almost started having mean thoughts about the dude. I'm really glad you handled that with as much care as possible, Randy. Props! Props! God bless you.
You're correct. it's obviously more than 11k miles. The cluster has most likely been replaced or modified, you can tell by the broken bezel on the dash trim piece from when the person clumsily removed it. Love Panthers. Good to see more on the channel!
These were notorious for speedo failures. What's interesting is that this appears to be an LX (P74) and it has a P71 certified calibration speedo. I say it's been replaced too.
That interior is a time capsule and blast from the past. Even more amazing the radio still lights up. I remember a lot of these in the late 90's would not light up anymore. Hope you make a nice stack when you sell it.
That toe person had 0 respect for you and your property. Keep up the great content randy though we love to see it! Man you and Mike are so good together
I actually have the Ford Fuel Injection book for this era LOL. This car gives the impression that it was originally like a manager's car for either a PD or FD fleet (because 140 MPH speedo and extinguisher mount) but the last owner was called Peepaw by some and kept it in his carport...
Randy, this is one of the funniest videos...and not on purpose....you've had in a while. Bummer you had to deal with that transporter like that. Who's the idiot who put the "flood car" on the top in the front? That car should ALWAYS be in running condition. You're always teaching us something. I did not know Ford gave the Crown Vic the "Taurus/Mustang" front end treatment for a year. Added it to my useless trivia for car guys pile. If the car buying/selling gets old, you and Monkey Wrench Mike can hit the comedy circuit. The fix is just ridiculous! HAha. Money maker for sure! Keep doing what you do!!
I had a 92 Town Car with the VERY SAME PROBLEM! And it would cut off driving right down the highway too! It's the computer under the dash on the driver side. You could giggle the wires on the fuel relay and mine would run for a while but then cut off again. I got one from the junk yard with the same numbers (I was very lucky!) Put it in and never had another problem! You can send them out for repair though! Good luck. Also, I don't think that car was flooded, I think it was that the owner couldn't figure out the problem. It took me forever to figure it out myself! Oh and the odometer is a speed sensor I believe, if not it's a wheel in the odometer in the dash which is an easy fix if you have patience.
Randy when you had the air intake off you caused a massive vacuum leak . You forgot to add antifreeze, it was low when you checked it the first time . From the battery being disconnected it has to relearn the idol . I had this exact car and had a few odd issues but what a great car !!!
Too much fun watching y'all. And it was totally killing seeing the big bearded dude just standing outside the car staring at y'all at the end of the video.
I had a 92 Lincoln Executive Series and the only difference was it didn't have that grill, and mine had the mustang V6 in it. Mine also had a digital instrument panel. I drove that thing so long everybody called me the Lincoln Man, lol. I had to get rid if it 5 years ago because it just stopped running out of the blue and I couldn't figure it out. I really loved that car even though it was considered an old peoples car. Now that I'm old I guess it would fit me just fine, lol.
What??? If you’re talking town car the town car never had a V6 never had a different grill for the 90-97 model year. First year of the all new redesigned town car for 1990 was a 5.0 V8 then by 91 ford replaced it with the 4.6 V8.
@@91myroc The car I had was a 92 Lincoln Executive Series. It had a 3.8 Liter engine in it and was the same white color with a digital instrument panel which was all green, lol. It was a nice car, very reliable. I drove it home that night and the next day it cranked but wouldn't start. I tried everything from a fuel pump to the body control module and new relays. I finally gave up and it set for a year. Someone stopped and offered me a few hundred for it. I opened the hood and all the wiring was eaten up by mice. So I let it go. He wanted it for parts and most likely the Cats that was worth a fortune. He didn't mention the Cats and I didn't think about them. It also had new tires. My wife wanted it out of the yard, lol.

If your Ford won't run with the spout connector plugged in, it usually means that the engine control module (ECM) is faulty and can't properly adjust the ignition timing when the connector is connected; essentially, pulling the spout essentially "bypasses" the computer's timing control, allowing the engine to run even if the timing is slightly off, but with the connector in, the computer can't correct the timing, leading to a no-start condition.
Idea i had is get some long ropes, for cars that need pullled off (trailer can just drive slowly forward whilst and/or pull with another car on other end) you have trees around you can tie ropes to. Also to pull a car into the garage can use those ropes with a hoist block anchored to the backwall. Thats a nice Crown vic man. hi5
Wow, I can’t believe the transport driver would do that. What an asshole. Anyway, beautiful Crown Vic, the 92-97 “aero” Vics have always been my favorite generation of Crown Vic

Check and clean all your grounds related to the PCM and relay junction. Power wire as well with a wiggle test. Not sure what you got going on there, but I’m thinking keep it simple. Check and clean all the grounds. Nice car by the way. You did good! Transport guy, I’ll keep my options to myself! 🙄

Anyways at least its running and driving again glad to see it running and driving. Thanks for sharing keep up the great work much love to ya have a good one take care i will see ya on the next one
When this one is ready to sell I’d love to know about it because i am very partial to the 92s One of my favorite cars was an old 92 crown Vic, I have it to my brother when he went up north, unfortunately mine was an early 92 which has a starter that was only used for like 3 months on the 4.6 and he couldn’t afford the crazy price for a reman one so it was hauled off without my knowledge. I still look for 92s because I like the front end on them, mine had custom pinstripes on the front around the ford emblem, the pinstripe guy still remembers my car because it was such an oddball. I even have a collection of 92 specific papers and model cars. My dream one is a 92 Crown Vic Touring Sedan, I have tried to buy 3 separate ones and lost out on all of them while on the way to them.
Randy, I noticed something about this Crown Vic. I've been around Crown Vics a while, and I noticed the instrument cluster shows that 11,000 miles. But I also see where it's a 140 mph speedometer and shows certified calibration. I don't remember this on normal Crown Vics, only the police interceptor versions. Is it possible the instrument cluster has been changed out with one from a Police Interceptor, just a thought?? Great video!!!!
My grandparents used to have a 1992 crown Vic with the interior looking exactly like this one and it was a red exterior. The car had around 300k on it after they passed and they bought the car band new.
Waves Randy Waves!!!! Ya gotta remember that the water lines on these cars are put there after everything calms down.. But during the storm/surge of course the water line would be higher.....j/s
Ford Tech here The box labeled EDIS is spark control. EDIS8 is Electronic Distributorless Ignition System 8 cylinder. The initial start was probably dumb luck and what Ford calls terminal fretting.
Best and funniest video! You and Mike omg lol 😆 ! He broke it but was just standing there not touching anything. I can't stop laughing. That transporter though is very questionable. So glad I'm subscribed

Another great video i enjoyed this alot and thag crown vic is a nice looking car and the interior is in tip top shape it looks great and i agree with u randy i believe it has about 80k or so miles on it no way its gota 11k the gauge stopped working and could of possibly been replaced but who knows. Anyways at least its running and driving again glad to see it running and driving. Thanks for sharing keep up the great work much love to ya have a good one take care i will see ya on the next one
When this one is ready to sell I’d love to know about it because i am very partial to the 92s
One of my favorite cars was an old 92 crown Vic, I have it to my brother when he went up north, unfortunately mine was an early 92 which has a starter that was only used for like 3 months on the 4.6 and he couldn’t afford the crazy price for a reman one so it was hauled off without my knowledge.
Interior is amazing you could part it out and make good money
I would LOVE you to keep this Forever !!
try replacing the MAF sensor and/or plug in that clip. it should work sometimes. did in my mustang
Waves Randy Waves!!!! Ya gotta remember that the water lines on these cars are put there after everything calms down.. But during the storm/surge of course the water line would be higher.....j/s
Keep up the good work Randy with your videos and auction car buying and resales. I do the same with Ritchie Brothers auctions 🙂👍
Ford Tech here
The box labeled EDIS is spark control.
