All this should just be staple going forward. Too many fans despite criticism actually will end up valuing this because it hits you right in the nostalgia
Out of all the things shown in the trailer, the registration of pokemon to the pokedex is my favorite part, how a pokemon's information is a book and is shelved once it gets added is so cool and unique
The "wheels" on Koraidon not being utilized means they are part of its anatomy. They just look like wheels. I mean Koraidon's battle build only has the front wheel present so the back wheel might just be its tail curled during its Sprinting build.
I was actually thinking that looking at the pauses on each screen. One of them, the rear wheel looks like a tail. I Googled the game and the box art kinda gives that feel too. Like we see it as a wheel but looking at the two legendary designs, they look more like chest and tail pieces, it just seems easier that the future one makes use of the wheel looking part since it's a bot where as the scarlet one is the original pokemon. I know I want to play scarlet more but I did pre-order the double this round lol
The whiskers of wooper look a lot like bones, making its face be a skull and crossbones, which is a symbol for poison. Some even think that because it's Ground/Poison, it may be a reference to animal bones found in tar.
From what I read it could be based of a type of newt that pushes it's ribs outside of it's body and stabs other animals with them, which poisons then because their ribs are covered in poison. It's called a Spanish Ribbed Newt.

I'd like it more if they leaned into that. Having "wheels" while propelling those "wheels" with its legs. It bothers me that they're always out and you're just supposed to ignore them, lizards literally use that part to gain attention and draw the eye
I'm guessing since Koraidon is the past/ancient version its just got an inflatable sack or something that got turned into a wheel in the future. Its kinda of hard for a species to evolve a working wheel into their body since wheels spin and the position of it on its body doesn't allow that
Koraidon’s “wheels” look more like inflatable sacks that look like wheels, than actual wheels. At 5:22 if you look closely at the rear wheel you will see that it does not fully wrap around into a wheel but instead tucks inwards like a tail.

The wheels can’t really spin. They’re just an inflatable air sac and its tail that look like tires from the side used for mating displays and buoyancy in water travels. Similar comment was mentioned on another of Austin’s videos
To add to the other comments here about Koraidon not using his wheel. He is a past form, so maybe the wheel wasn't fully invented yet, hence they only use their hands, Were as Miraidon, is future technology and has "spacey" themed wheels and jets.
What I noticed about Koraidon, is that when you see him running at around 5:18. If you look at what is supposed to be the 'Back Wheel' That is actually just his tail curled in on itself. It's not really a wheel.
@@devinglass2038 but he's specifically mentioned as liking to cook so while it theoretically could be a lighter I suppose, it makes much more sense to me as measuring cups. Also, I also carry measuring cups/spoons with me most places, for reasons I won't get into here lol, and they look very similar.
I don't know if you noticed, but during the part where it showed Noibat evolving into Noivern, it looks to me like it evolved in the overworld rather than have its own evolution screen. I think that's awesome they're changing the little things about evolving pokemon now.
I wonder if the evil team will work a bit like the sisters in Arceus - where after you beat them in the story, they could pop up in different places on the map, and you could re-battle them. With the evil team being mobile and they can pop up anywhere, or if you have to search the map for them. Also if Arven is central to one story, the female counterpart will be central to the other story.
I've done several playthroughs of Legends, and I have yet to encounter them randomly in the wild. I've even specifically tried hunting them down. My weird luck. I'm not lucky enough to get a random battle that'll give me exp and money, but I'm lucky enough to have found two random Shinies, and completed one hunt (Goomy).
@@Lycan4 strange that they don't appear for you. The sisters also have set locations they will show up in, so unfortunately it's never truly random. I always get each certain sister in one certain spot in a certain map, so it takes away from the "we're jumping you" feel.
The Evil Team that you're describing is like the Yoga Clan in BotW. Where they just kinda surprise you. The storylines, could be similar to the Social Links in Persona.

Although I'd like to see these be completely random in the map as opposed to the set locations that Yiga members appear in BotW. After they spawn twice, it's easy to memorize their location and like the Sisters in Legends Arceus, really lacks a feeling of surprise. If this Evil Team had a spawn radius instead, that would greatly improve the experience.
The treehouse on the academy is obviously professor Sada's lab. Then on the other side you have professor Turo's lab in that more futuristic looking structure. So it seems like the profs actually exist in both games.
I think the towers are purposely used for the gliding feature with the legend. Since there are a bunch of low-lying areas, these towers allow for high points to glide off of
My theory is, you get the legendary lizards early - but they will be key item pokemon for bulk of the story. Then eventually, you get access to their "battle-mode" about the same time you would normally find the legendary in normal games. Once you get the "battle-mode" then you can use in battle. Or potentially there is a 3rd/combined legend ?
Maybe you won't be able to use the future/past legends in battle and only use the present pokemon in the present but u can use the future/past legends in the future/past maybe time travel exists in the game depending on the game like the ultra wormholes in ultra moon/sun
I do have a theory for the legends. I feel like they either might be juveniles, or powered down(?) as they seem more chibi, and in the trailer there was a cutscene where they kinda grow into the forms we know, and then they look back at the player

Yeah, it definitely gives Toothless vibes! Personally, I’m also really reminded of Monster Hunter Stories, especially with the “Ride on” parts of the legendaries’ names.
At 21:07 I noticed that Sprigatito trainer team has 5 filled Pokémon slots. This is interesting since Sprigatito is level 9 and facing a level 7. Their is no indicator on lechonk that shows that it was previously caught which means that the first several encounters of Pokémon will not be lechonk but either one other Pokémon or a variety of different Pokémon.

It does and it doesn't cos there's arguments for both. Why have wheels if they're not being used? But you have the whole prehistoric/future form so makes sense for the future form to actually use them
i wish they kept the "stealth catching" aspect from Arceus. i enjoy not having to battle every time to catch the pokemon. also the way to complete pokemon entries was neat too. i wonder how hard it would be to give players an option to either battle catch or stealth catch pokemon.
I'm hoping that's going to be one of the other two paths they were talking about. One for the gym leaders, one for the pokedex, and the third one, maybe for pvp?
@@zach6395 Austin mentioned in the last video the 3rd path might be the villain team's story. Which makes more sense but pvp or multi-player in general might be a post game path for all we know
cause the point ofbthe stealth catch was tied into completing pokedex entries. this game isn't about completing the pokedex, its about becoming champion so you don't need all those other features.
I like that to but instead of giving it a whole option bar it would be better to be like legend of arceus and sword and shield like how if u were to run into it u would have to battle it and from of far u could use ur poke balls
For the salty nerds, Koraidon doesn’t have wheels, the front one is actually a “dewlap” and it’s what most lizards have being used for either mating or asserting dominance, the back one is actually a tail that wraps inward like an Archimedean Spiral
I think most people understand that being the primitive form, they aren't actually wheels, hence the running. The point is it looks dumb to see a pokemon that LOOKS like it has giant motorcycle tires running. I think the design could have been downplayed so they still evoke wheels but didn't look so damn ridiculous while running.

I’m not sure if this is a theory yet, but my personal opinion is that the “Box Legendaries” are not actually “legendaries,” and instead there is one common/shared legendary between both games. The “Box Pokemon” just determine which “transport” Pokemon you have access to, alongside any other minor box-exclusives. The “legendaries” will probably be used as the rideable Pokemon in Arceus, while obtaining the main legendary and mystics will be part of one of the three story line(s)
One thing I noticed which is a little disappointing is that Cetitan is 14ft 9'' according to the website. Big as a house. Yet both in battle and in the wild he appears much smaller. Means we still won't be getting proper size scaling...which is a shame. Otherwise I love everything. I hope we can take photos of pokemon to upload to the pokedex!
The thing I appreciated most in PLA was having the moon and it passing through its different phases. Every shot that had it in the SV trailer was in full, I'm hoping it's just from the game clock starting at a set time when they record. Also, something that no one ever brought up, the moon in PLA is retrograde, it goes west to east. It's not impossible, just unusual, it's generally a result of capturing an object already in orbit around it's host star. Curious if SV will fix it, I was already wondering if it was intentional, they had to input the sun's path across the sky and put it at the same side the moon just set.

I don't know why but the slight focus on Sunflora in a pot in this trailer and the last trailer having plant pots that looked like the same ones makes me strongly feel like we are either getting an alternate evolution for Sunkern or an evolution for Sunflora and i feel like it might be grass/fire typing.

We all know they love to hide stuff in trailers that becomes obvious later on that it was a hint at something.
19:45 It looks like the player has Sprigatito and the rival has Quaxly. The spines are more vibrant for Caught Pokémon and grayed out for Seen ones. Seems like SwSh again where you pick the strong counter to the rival instead of the disadvantage.
I kinda like the whole idea that Koraidon runs considering he's supposed to represent the past and therefore won't ride as smoothly as say Moraidon as the future is supposed to be more advanced and smooth. I also love his animation when he swims. Team Scarlet all the way!🍊🍊
I wonder if the checkpoints are the evil team closing off the areas. Maybe we just have to beat them up for access and it's separate from the gyms. Would be an interesting way to go about it and it would allow you to challenge any gym at any time instead of just a few select ones.
I think one of the Grand Stories the one with the "Hot-rod" gonna revolve around some kind of racing cause the flags remind me of two finish line flags like you typically see in a race enviroment! And lets face it you and your friends gonna ride "bikes" racing with em would seem like a natural course of action ^^
I just imagine them being a roaming evil team. Because youre gonna be moving very fast pace it makes sense that the evil team (who are chasing the legendaries) would be driving a vehicle to keep up
Personally I am not a fan of the look of the new gimmick, but I like the mechanics of it, it adds diversity. But come on, having 5 crystallized mons in a den looks too sparkly and too busy. Not to mention, the crown does not look good on every pokemon. Imagine a small round pokemon with that in its head. Nope, not for me.
My personal theory on the flags and their purpose is that they'll be used as the starting and finish lines for races in the game. You just KNOW that racing has to be a part of this when the whole schtick is that you're riding your legendary 'mons! And I bet the evil gang in this iteration is a group of motorcycle thugs or maybe even a rival school and you not only battle but race too! Or maybe there's some way they incorporate both simultaneously!!! Lmao I doubt it but you gotta admit, that would be pretty crazy. Bandidos or The Hells Angels(Team HA vs Team Bandidos in this game is confirmed) will be the Rival Gang because this IS Spain after all it would make more sense for you to be on the more hispanic side of it lol. The Climax is that the Leader of The Outlaws randomly joins in this battle and you got to find a way to stop A Triple Threat Conflict from Destroying Paldea and then the World. All 3 Leaders get destroyed randomly by a returning Giovanni who is Leader of Team Rainbow Rocket and The Don of The Mafia or Mob. Giovanni is actually a Soprano.
It's a very small detail, but i noticed they're no longer using the pixel icons for pokemon, and are using the same style as with BDSP. Kinda sad, i liked the pixel art :(

In any case, I just want to add a little bit of info on the naming of the new gimmick, since some people might wonder why it's called _tera._ :) In the Japanese original it's called テラスタル _terasutaru_ = Terastal, so it's directly carried over to other languages from the Japanese name. Since it's called テラスタル _terasutaru,_ it makes me believe it's a combination of these two words: 照らす _terasu_ = "illuminate/shine" + クリスタル _kurisutaru_ = "crystal", so it's basically the "Illuminating Crystal Phenomenon" or "Shining Crystal Phenomenon". By the way, it reminds me a bit about New Pokemon Snap - a game I really enjoyed playing - which is nice :)
My theory is that Koraidon not using it's wheels is a lore thing and will be how they explain the inspiration behind wheels/ wheels on vehicles. Trainers in ancient times probably saw Koraidon moving and misunderstood its movement as being from the wheel, then causing people to use that for vehicles and other inventions
Plus it’s a biological mon whereas miraidon is biomechanical. It doesn’t make sense for the wheels in koraidon to turn. Wish they would deflate for flying and running though. Floatation and grip for swimming and climbing makes sense but seems like it would make more sense for them to deflate in the other cases like it’s deflated in the cutscene. Still prefer koraidon to miraidon though
I've been Team Violet since the initial reveals, and I stayed there when Miraidon was revealed. I'm now happy I'm still on Team Violet, knowing I'll be getting a cyberbike for a legendary lol.

I thought the legendaries were stupid at first. But it looks like the future one that is based on the past one has the motorcycle look for a reason. The past one, the design is like that for some sort of biological reason, such as gills or something to help it survive over water, etc. the design lent itself to the future design due to nature is always more efficient. Such as how light/heat is emitted from lightning bugs is vastly superior to your lightbulb in your house. So scientists may have replicated this future version, or maybe some sort of evolution did, but I would guess the future one is completely man-made. While cool and neat, it is not nearly as efficient biologically as the past version, etc. So thinking on that, I actually like them more and it’s not as stupid. If the past one was able to turn on the wheel look like a motorcycle then it would be too dumb for me, but basing tech off of nature is in reality ingenious. So I’ll be getting past version game myself 😏
I can’t explain how happy the legendaries of this game makes me, they’re so cute. I wasn’t sure about getting them pretty much straight up but you’ll actually get to have a bond with them.

For the giant cloud crater my theory is that it could be the path to an alternate reality or a way to switch between different time periods (game versions) kind of like in USUM with the ultraspace

Hey Austin, I'm pretty sure the little thing on the companion's backpack is a flint striker. It has a rough surface on the inside and you squeeze the handle to rub a stick (that's also inside) across the surface. Like a match and its box, but reusable
Just had a random thought when you mentioned sawsbuck being there and possibly the seasons mechanic returning because of it. And the gyms not being in a specific order, it would be awesome if there was a city with a gym that changes gym leader every season, like in the hot summers it's a fire type trainer, like a real beachy type of person easily taking on the heat and with a magcargo (possibly a camerupt,hisuian arcanine) as their ace, only to be beaten in the rainy and muddy autumn by a complete outdoorsy, coverd in mud ground type trainer. I'm imagining them in full camo paint as well with something like a torterra as it's ace. Come winter a mysterious almost ghsotly ice type trainer takes the lead over the gym seemingly not even bothered a bit by the cold even though they aren't dressed for it at all with an Alolan Ninetales as their ace. But come spring an old farmer takes a hold over the gym, as a sort of hobby after planting the seeds for this year, backed up by their strong steel types that normally help them in the fields with a durant as their ace (would love kartana, but just seems a bit much. Possibly ferrothorn). Only to be then again defeated in the summer, and so the cycle begins again. This way every gym leader has like their ace being in a complete 4x weakness disadventage towards the next challenger for being the gym leader. Making it obvious why the next person can take over so easily from them. Obviously some new pokemon could be designed around these characters and would be even better as their aces also because these are semi reliant on some regional forms but still. Would love to see something like this. Also if other gyms, elite 4 and champion don't re-use each others types you would be able to cover at least 16 out of the 18 types with a mayor trainer as representative. And this would also give the town a lot of different kinds of people supporting different kinds of groups and trainers, maybe there is a big conflict between the ground and steel type trainer over the woods outside the city being chopped for farming grounds? The ice and fire type trainers being somehow related and both having ninetales but those grew up in seperate places so one had to adjust to the cold while the other is still fire type. I think it would give this town, it's gym and the leaders a lot of cool side story to explore.
I would like to point out that at 20:47 it looks like you are fighting a wild Lechonk, which means you probably will be able to terastallize your pokemon anytime and any battle you want unlike in sword/shield you could only with important battles which is honestly pretty neat

@@-Teague- (neutral tone) see, i kind of think that's a bit of a cop-out argument, but i'm not articulated enough to combat it. In my case though, these are supposed to be actual living creatures with blood/the equivalent of blood pumping through them. I could see the wheels being biological if they stuck out more and didn't touch the neck, basically looking like an actual bicycle. But instead, with how the wheels would be built and digging into the neck, i can hardly see how it's supposed to get food down - or not get Serious friction burns where it seems to connect, there really arent any gaps to prevent that yknow? These creatures arent real in our world, but they are in the pokemon world, and i do tend to enjoy looking over the pokemon and seeing how they function in that enviroment, so i suppose im more geared towards thinking about that side of things Edit: Now that i think about it this is probably why i have issues looking at cetitan's mouth, it really doesn't seem all that practical? But maybe it takes down its prey first before trying to get its mouth around it

I don't think we'll be having seasons again, I just think the Deerling/Sawsbuck variants will be based on parts of the map. Like Winter form in the icy areas, spring form in the plains, etc.
I only noticed now that each terastal form has its own "headdress" for the Pokemon type. All water type will have the same fountain headdress, all normal types will have the diamond ring, etc. For the Pokemon that have "rare" forms, the designers are just gonna swap each of the headdresses to represent different types.
A detail, the legends are MISSING components of their design until the dramatic turn and montage towards the end. The headdress, the jet legs, the electricity and yellow eyes for example. Edit: 4:50 You can't make biological wheels, that'd look REALLY weird.

Two theories. I think the flag things are going to be for racing or time trials for your raidon. Also, I think it’d be cool if the villain of the game is the past or future version of the principal of the school, rather than just him, as it feels a little obvious for him to be the villain.
One thing Austin in my eyes missed is about what else the Pokedex page reveals. Its that your rival most likely has the starter that is weak to yours. (Since Sprigatito name is black and Quaxly's is only grey) So we will have another Hop situation with our rival whereas maybe Nemona gets the pokemon with the type strong to your choice.
@@ultmewtwo you have never battled any other trainer than your rival before encountering a wild pokemon so I doubt it. I my eyes it's more likely that you have one rival like Hop last gen. But Nemona could be the "2nd rival" that has the advantage rival.
I thought the last scene with the two legendaries is far more likely their fighting form when they stand up. Maybe you'll get this much later in the story 🤔
The Region Gimmick Draws Energy from under the Ground like the Previous Games, and there's a Giant Crater in the center of the Map, there's probably another Eternatus like Pokemon.
The leaks, which have all been proven accurate so far, say there's no third legendary, though. Unless it ends up being a DLC thing, I wouldn't count on it.
I bet there will be some kind of temporary speed boost/charge that will have Koraidon use their wheels. Like press the Y button and you go faster for 5 seconds.
I know a lot of people were hoping for a return of Mega Evolution (maybe just in our dreams), but I do think that the Terrastrallization is a very cool mechanic that might bring back some of the magic that Megas had.
Imo Pokémon saw how well megas went and they just went MOREEEE and added a ton of unnecessary mechanics afterwards most of which are personally god awful.
I feel like people are missing that evolutions actually take place in the overworld now. For some reason, I find that very cool.

The "wheels" on Koraidon not being utilized means they are part of its anatomy. They just look like wheels. I mean Koraidon's battle build only has the front wheel present so the back wheel might just be its tail curled during its Sprinting build.
The front "wheel" can deflate so it most likely aides it's balance as it runs and acts as floatation when it swims
I was actually thinking that looking at the pauses on each screen. One of them, the rear wheel looks like a tail. I Googled the game and the box art kinda gives that feel too. Like we see it as a wheel but looking at the two legendary designs, they look more like chest and tail pieces, it just seems easier that the future one makes use of the wheel looking part since it's a bot where as the scarlet one is the original pokemon. I know I want to play scarlet more but I did pre-order the double this round lol
The whiskers of wooper look a lot like bones, making its face be a skull and crossbones, which is a symbol for poison. Some even think that because it's Ground/Poison, it may be a reference to animal bones found in tar.

From what I read it could be based of a type of newt that pushes it's ribs outside of it's body and stabs other animals with them, which poisons then because their ribs are covered in poison. It's called a Spanish Ribbed Newt.

I'm guessing since Koraidon is the past/ancient version its just got an inflatable sack or something that got turned into a wheel in the future. Its kinda of hard for a species to evolve a working wheel into their body since wheels spin and the position of it on its body doesn't allow that
Koraidon’s “wheels” look more like inflatable sacks that look like wheels, than actual wheels.
At 5:22 if you look closely at the rear wheel you will see that it does not fully wrap around into a wheel but instead tucks inwards like a tail.

The wheels can’t really spin. They’re just an inflatable air sac and its tail that look like tires from the side used for mating displays and buoyancy in water travels.

To add to the other comments here about Koraidon not using his wheel. He is a past form, so maybe the wheel wasn't fully invented yet, hence they only use their hands, Were as Miraidon, is future technology and has "spacey" themed wheels and jets.

I don't know if you noticed, but during the part where it showed Noibat evolving into Noivern, it looks to me like it evolved in the overworld rather than have its own evolution screen. I think that's awesome they're changing the little things about evolving pokemon now.
I wonder if the evil team will work a bit like the sisters in Arceus - where after you beat them in the story, they could pop up in different places on the map, and you could re-battle them. With the evil team being mobile and they can pop up anywhere, or if you have to search the map for them. Also if Arven is central to one story, the female counterpart will be central to the other story.
I've done several playthroughs of Legends, and I have yet to encounter them randomly in the wild. I've even specifically tried hunting them down.
My weird luck. I'm not lucky enough to get a random battle that'll give me exp and money, but I'm lucky enough to have found two random Shinies, and completed one hunt (Goomy).
@@Lycan4 strange that they don't appear for you. The sisters also have set locations they will show up in, so unfortunately it's never truly random. I always get each certain sister in one certain spot in a certain map, so it takes away from the "we're jumping you" feel.

Although I'd like to see these be completely random in the map as opposed to the set locations that Yiga members appear in BotW. After they spawn twice, it's easy to memorize their location and like the Sisters in Legends Arceus, really lacks a feeling of surprise.
If this Evil Team had a spawn radius instead, that would greatly improve the experience.
The treehouse on the academy is obviously professor Sada's lab. Then on the other side you have professor Turo's lab in that more futuristic looking structure. So it seems like the profs actually exist in both games.

I think the towers are purposely used for the gliding feature with the legend. Since there are a bunch of low-lying areas, these towers allow for high points to glide off of
My theory is, you get the legendary lizards early - but they will be key item pokemon for bulk of the story. Then eventually, you get access to their "battle-mode" about the same time you would normally find the legendary in normal games. Once you get the "battle-mode" then you can use in battle.
Or potentially there is a 3rd/combined legend ?

Seeing the box legendaries in motion, and being ridden, gives me total "Toothless" vibes from How to Train Your Dragon.

I noticed that Sprigatito trainer team has 5 filled Pokémon slots. This is interesting since Sprigatito is level 9 and facing a level 7. Their is no indicator on lechonk that shows that it was previously caught which means that the first several encounters of Pokémon will not be lechonk but either one other Pokémon or a variety of different Pokémon.

i wish they kept the "stealth catching" aspect from Arceus. i enjoy not having to battle every time to catch the pokemon. also the way to complete pokemon entries was neat too. i wonder how hard it would be to give players an option to either battle catch or stealth catch pokemon.
I'm hoping that's going to be one of the other two paths they were talking about. One for the gym leaders, one for the pokedex, and the third one, maybe for pvp?

For the salty nerds, Koraidon doesn’t have wheels, the front one is actually a “dewlap” and it’s what most lizards have being used for either mating or asserting dominance, the back one is actually a tail that wraps inward like an Archimedean Spiral
I think most people understand that being the primitive form, they aren't actually wheels, hence the running. The point is it looks dumb to see a pokemon that LOOKS like it has giant motorcycle tires running. I think the design could have been downplayed so they still evoke wheels but didn't look so damn ridiculous while running.

I’m not sure if this is a theory yet, but my personal opinion is that the “Box Legendaries” are not actually “legendaries,” and instead there is one common/shared legendary between both games.
The “Box Pokemon” just determine which “transport” Pokemon you have access to, alongside any other minor box-exclusives.
The “legendaries” will probably be used as the rideable Pokemon in Arceus, while obtaining the main legendary and mystics will be part of one of the three story line(s)
I imagine its because when you first get them, theyre in a dormant form and later in the story you can get them to full power (box art)

One thing I noticed which is a little disappointing is that Cetitan is 14ft 9'' according to the website. Big as a house. Yet both in battle and in the wild he appears much smaller. Means we still won't be getting proper size scaling...which is a shame. Otherwise I love everything. I hope we can take photos of pokemon to upload to the pokedex!

The thing I appreciated most in PLA was having the moon and it passing through its different phases. Every shot that had it in the SV trailer was in full, I'm hoping it's just from the game clock starting at a set time when they record. Also, something that no one ever brought up, the moon in PLA is retrograde, it goes west to east. It's not impossible, just unusual, it's generally a result of capturing an object already in orbit around it's host star. Curious if SV will fix it, I was already wondering if it was intentional, they had to input the sun's path across the sky and put it at the same side the moon just set.

We all know they love to hide stuff in trailers that becomes obvious later on that it was a hint at something.
19:45 It looks like the player has Sprigatito and the rival has Quaxly. The spines are more vibrant for Caught Pokémon and grayed out for Seen ones. Seems like SwSh again where you pick the strong counter to the rival instead of the disadvantage.
I kinda like the whole idea that Koraidon runs considering he's supposed to represent the past and therefore won't ride as smoothly as say Moraidon as the future is supposed to be more advanced and smooth. I also love his animation when he swims. Team Scarlet all the way!🍊🍊

I wonder if the checkpoints are the evil team closing off the areas. Maybe we just have to beat them up for access and it's separate from the gyms. Would be an interesting way to go about it and it would allow you to challenge any gym at any time instead of just a few select ones.
I think one of the Grand Stories the one with the "Hot-rod" gonna revolve around some kind of racing cause the flags remind me of two finish line flags like you typically see in a race enviroment! And lets face it you and your friends gonna ride "bikes" racing with em would seem like a natural course of action ^^

Personally I am not a fan of the look of the new gimmick, but I like the mechanics of it, it adds diversity. But come on, having 5 crystallized mons in a den looks too sparkly and too busy. Not to mention, the crown does not look good on every pokemon. Imagine a small round pokemon with that in its head. Nope, not for me.

My personal theory on the flags and their purpose is that they'll be used as the starting and finish lines for races in the game. You just KNOW that racing has to be a part of this when the whole schtick is that you're riding your legendary 'mons! Or maybe there's some way they incorporate both simultaneously!!! Lmao I doubt it but you gotta admit, that would be pretty crazy. The Climax is that the Leader of The Outlaws randomly joins in this battle and you got to find a way to stop A Triple Threat Conflict from Destroying Paldea and then the World. All 3 Leaders get destroyed randomly by a returning Giovanni who is Leader of Team Rainbow Rocket and The Don of The Mafia or Mob. Giovanni is actually a Soprano.

In the Japanese original it's called テラスタル _terasutaru_ = Terastal, so it's directly carried over to other languages from the Japanese name. Since it's called テラスタル _terasutaru,_ it makes me believe it's a combination of these two words: 照らす _terasu_ = "illuminate/shine" + クリスタル _kurisutaru_ = "crystal", so it's basically the "Illuminating Crystal Phenomenon" or "Shining Crystal Phenomenon".
By the way, it reminds me a bit about New Pokemon Snap - a game I really enjoyed playing - which is nice :)
My theory is that Koraidon not using it's wheels is a lore thing and will be how they explain the inspiration behind wheels/ wheels on vehicles. Trainers in ancient times probably saw Koraidon moving and misunderstood its movement as being from the wheel, then causing people to use that for vehicles and other inventions
Plus it’s a biological mon whereas miraidon is biomechanical. It doesn’t make sense for the wheels in koraidon to turn. Wish they would deflate for flying and running though. Floatation and grip for swimming and climbing makes sense but seems like it would make more sense for them to deflate in the other cases like it’s deflated in the cutscene. Still prefer koraidon to miraidon though

I kind of like the approach of having a separate story for the legendaries. It seems like we're getting that.
I thought the legendaries were stupid at first. But it looks like the future one that is based on the past one has the motorcycle look for a reason.
The past one, the design is like that for some sort of biological reason, such as gills or something to help it survive over water, etc. the design lent itself to the future design due to nature is always more efficient. Such as how light/heat is emitted from lightning bugs is vastly superior to your lightbulb in your house. So scientists may have replicated this future version, or maybe some sort of evolution did, but I would guess the future one is completely man-made. While cool and neat, it is not nearly as efficient biologically as the past version, etc. So thinking on that, I actually like them more and it’s not as stupid. If the past one was able to turn on the wheel look like a motorcycle then it would be too dumb for me, but basing tech off of nature is in reality ingenious. I wasn’t sure about getting them pretty much straight up but you’ll actually get to have a bond with them.
I think you'll only get them to ride on early and unlock them for battle way later in the story

For the giant cloud crater my theory is that it could be the path to an alternate reality or a way to switch between different time periods (game versions) kind of like in USUM with the ultraspace

Pleasantly surprised at how good some of the Pokemons' textures look. I was kinda meh when I first saw Scarlet and Violet but this trailer kinda took me by surprise; it actually looks quite decent!
Go re-watch it, at least the Seviper and the Magnemite in the rain looked really good also!

Hey Austin, I'm pretty sure the little thing on the companion's backpack is a flint striker. It has a rough surface on the inside and you squeeze the handle to rub a stick (that's also inside) across the surface. Like a match and its box, but reusable

Just had a random thought when you mentioned sawsbuck being there and possibly the seasons mechanic returning because of it. And the gyms not being in a specific order, it would be awesome if there was a city with a gym that changes gym leader every season, like in the hot summers it's a fire type trainer, like a real beachy type of person easily taking on the heat and with a magcargo (possibly a camerupt,hisuian arcanine) as their ace, only to be beaten in the rainy and muddy autumn by a complete outdoorsy, coverd in mud ground type trainer. I'm imagining them in full camo paint as well with something like a torterra as it's ace. Come winter a mysterious almost ghsotly ice type trainer takes the lead over the gym seemingly not even bothered a bit by the cold even though they aren't dressed for it at all with an Alolan Ninetales as their ace. But come spring an old farmer takes a hold over the gym, as a sort of hobby after planting the seeds for this year, backed up by their strong steel types that normally help them in the fields with a durant as their ace (would love kartana, but just seems a bit much. Possibly ferrothorn). Only to be then again defeated in the summer, and so the cycle begins again.
This way every gym leader has like their ace being in a complete 4x weakness disadventage towards the next challenger for being the gym leader. Making it obvious why the next person can take over so easily from them. Obviously some new pokemon could be designed around these characters and would be even better as their aces also because these are semi reliant on some regional forms but still. Would love to see something like this. Also if other gyms, elite 4 and champion don't re-use each others types you would be able to cover at least 16 out of the 18 types with a mayor trainer as representative. And this would also give the town a lot of different kinds of people supporting different kinds of groups and trainers, maybe there is a big conflict between the ground and steel type trainer over the woods outside the city being chopped for farming grounds? The ice and fire type trainers being somehow related and both having ninetales but those grew up in seperate places so one had to adjust to the cold while the other is still fire type. I think it would give this town, it's gym and the leaders a lot of cool side story to explore.
I would like to point out that at 20:47 it looks like you are fighting a wild Lechonk, which means you probably will be able to terastallize your pokemon anytime and any battle you want unlike in sword/shield you could only with important battles which is honestly pretty neat
I think the problem with SwSh was that the gimmick would be kinda out of control if you did it wherever because they turn titan sized so yeah…

In a game about capturing animals with elemental powers and making them battle each other to unconsciousness, we're concerned about biological realism? Seems kinda pointless lol. I do like him but I'd much rather the wheels turn personally
@@-Teague- (neutral tone) see, i kind of think that's a bit of a cop-out argument, but i'm not articulated enough to combat it.
In my case though, these are supposed to be actual living creatures with blood/the equivalent of blood pumping through them. I could see the wheels being biological if they stuck out more and didn't touch the neck, basically looking like an actual bicycle. But instead, with how the wheels would be built and digging into the neck, i can hardly see how it's supposed to get food down - or not get Serious friction burns where it seems to connect, there really arent any gaps to prevent that yknow?
These creatures arent real in our world, but they are in the pokemon world, and i do tend to enjoy looking over the pokemon and seeing how they function in that enviroment, so i suppose im more geared towards thinking about that side of things
Edit: Now that i think about it this is probably why i have issues looking at cetitan's mouth, it really doesn't seem all that practical? But maybe it takes down its prey first before trying to get its mouth around it

I don't think we'll be having seasons again, I just think the Deerling/Sawsbuck variants will be based on parts of the map. Like Winter form in the icy areas, spring form in the plains, etc.

I only noticed now that each terastal form has its own "headdress" for the Pokemon type. All water type will have the same fountain headdress, all normal types will have the diamond ring, etc. For the Pokemon that have "rare" forms, the designers are just gonna swap each of the headdresses to represent different types.
yeup it's that way so you know what type they might change into because u could use this in online fight
A detail, the legends are MISSING components of their design until the dramatic turn and montage towards the end. The headdress, the jet legs, the electricity and yellow eyes for example.

I believe you'll get ur legendary in the beginning and then once you complete 1 of 3 stories you'll get their full form

On the website it says that the only confirmed version exclusives so far are Larvitar and Stonjourner for Scarlet, and Bacon and Eiscue for Violet.
Two theories. I think the flag things are going to be for racing or time trials for your raidon. Also, I think it’d be cool if the villain of the game is the past or future version of the principal of the school, rather than just him, as it feels a little obvious for him to be the villain.

Its that your rival most likely has the starter that is weak to yours. (Since Sprigatito name is black and Quaxly's is only grey)
So we will have another Hop situation with our rival whereas maybe Nemona gets the pokemon with the type strong to your choice.

@@ultmewtwo you have never battled any other trainer than your rival before encountering a wild pokemon so I doubt it.
I my eyes it's more likely that you have one rival like Hop last gen. But Nemona could be the "2nd rival" that has the advantage rival.

The Region Gimmick Draws Energy from under the Ground like the Previous Games, and there's a Giant Crater in the center of the Map, there's probably another Eternatus like Pokemon.
The leaks, which have all been proven accurate so far, say there's no third legendary, though. Unless it ends up being a DLC thing, I wouldn't count on it.

I bet there will be some kind of temporary speed boost/charge that will have Koraidon use their wheels. Like press the Y button and you go faster for 5 seconds.

I know a lot of people were hoping for a return of Mega Evolution (maybe just in our dreams), but I do think that the Terrastrallization is a very cool mechanic that might bring back some of the magic that Megas had.
The mechanic is good but I really don't like the look of those crystal forms, just my opinion though I know everyone has different preferences

Imo Pokémon saw how well megas went and they just went MOREEEE and added a ton of unnecessary mechanics afterwards most of which are personally god awful.

Koraidon is the equivalent of a Flintstone bike as a Pokémon
I hope one day they bring back shadow Pokemon but bring them into the main line games. I think that'd make for a great mechanic and story point
