Click Bait… I was waiting for it go Boom 😂
Hey Randy, when you are tightening those blower bets they don't get tightened to near as much as something like a serpentine belt you want to leave it a little loose so it doesn't put extra strain on the snout of the blower
Was going to say this too. Don’t want to bent or snap the snout
You know you gotta get Santa up to have a play with that rambler then get Mike in it just to scare him lol
Time to invest in a window mount for your camera, it would make car filming so much easier
and less dangerous
Depending on how big the stall converter is, the higher gears could seem like they don’t exist because you might not be in the RPM range for them to kick in.
The way it pulls out, I don't think it's more than 1800-2000 stall. It doesn't seem to be revving hard at all before it shifts (or DID shift)..😜
At least you know not to use monster transmission
😂
Should of put a manual in that car
Gonna bet it is a 700r4 and him looking at the throttle cable instead of the TV cable that goes down to the transmission was no help 😂
Keep it it’s a great car I’d love to see it finished brilliant channel Randy 👍🏽
Get rid of the other money pits and make this thing rock!
Blower belt is supposed to be somewhat loose and have that wave to it
That right there, looks like you're next power tour car
Hey dont give up on the Rambler. Love to see you take to the track and see what it can do
Hammer on it, and see if it shifts, dont pussy foot it!
sometimes..theres only one way to find out...😅
Keep the rambler Randy that thing is a unique beast you might regret getting rid of it. That car is a beautiful piece of art a nice car to take on a decent day and drive it around or go to a car show!!
The way GM factory service manuals detail the adjustment of detent cable is with engine off, depress button and bottom out cable, then rotate throttle to full open and the cable will ratchet out. It is then supposed to be properly adjusted, but you could play with it a little in each direction while monitoring the line pressure. I don't know if all that applies to a built tranny or not. You could contact the builder and ask what the design line pressure should be and attach a gauge while adjusting it.
Hey Randy just put a monster transmission in it and that will take care of that lmao
I actually love that Rambler what a sweet car! Randy I hope you can get it adjusted and fixed because that would genuinely be the perfect Power Tour car for next year! Been some awesome videos and look forward to more!👍👍
I would love to see a nice pull on this car when the gears would be okay,so much fun is all i can say.
What a beast Randy u got there,it gives the looks for sure.
I know that car has a stall converter and then the TV cable so adjustments for that cable may have to be done with pressure gauge. I have to replace one in a 91 Caprice and it had 1st and 2 but nothing else in forward gears but adjusted it several times and then finally with advice of my neighbor I got all gears again so maybe you had to hit higher RPMs for it to shift with the stall?? Or more cable adjustments. Find a trans shop with a"guru" and they could get it in this lifetime unlike many people that don't work on transmissions like they do.
God I love this car! I'm happy you got a big toy! I wish I could find something like this!😊
The idle seems a little high but that car is insane
Those cables can be a bitch to adjust. They would make that transmission. Do all kinds of weird things study up on it or take it to a professional to adjust?
Jessica said yeah no Randy that needs to go down the road cuz u don’t need it lol.
That’s funny what your wife said hot rods all way’s brake no matter if you get on them or not.I had a 71 duster the day the came over to buy it i took him and his wife for a test ride got on it the rear end shifted over and the rear passenger tire dug a 1/8 inch groove into the passenger rear tire.Im so happy he still bought the car and i’m happy i sold that car believe me hot rods cars like yours are the one i had something all ways brakes i would sell it like your wife said
That's a damn good car. That's my dream car..
Man I hope you can keep this one.. it's very unique
Hey Randy has anyone ever told you that your voice sounds alot like Tom Arnold
I get how he's so excited about 1K horsepower. As soon as you drive around a vehicle with that much power, you don't ever wanna go back.
Time for ath 400 and a gear vendors overdrive.
I see you using this in Power Tour 2025. Gorgeous car, definitely a keeper
Take it to Westin's next burnout event or take it to Cleetus's. Sweet car!
Randy good news I went on monster transmission they got one in stock maybe get them to sponsor you
You’re hilarious. I take it you haven’t seen the videos on the monte carlo lol
60 Rambler Sedan Delivery Hot Rod Is Awesome To Work On With Flip Nose Hood & Ford 9inch Rear End
Keep it and have some fun with it!!
Love the Rambler!
MORE RAMBLER CONTENT!!! Maybe Build a little garage in Indiana and leave one of the toys out there for ya to enjoy!
Yeah manual steering Is really difficult if you are driving a 5 speed manual transmission I had a 1978 Datsun pickup keep up the good work instersing videos thanks for sharing this with us
Jessica gave you some good advice. Women seem to have a special sense in cars?? I would listen to her and save yourself the headaches and future expenses. 😎😎👍👍
Rebuilds is back
Randy there is a lock up plug on the transmission n or In the transmission is spring that popped n it will let you have 1 2 n R
Does the car have a manual valve body? It sounded like you initially started off in 3rd gear, because I never heard 1 st until you manually shifted it.
@32:53 don’t listen to her, she knows nothing about the mechanicals of this car. She’s just doing what they do best! Being DREAM KILLERS and PESSIMISTIC!😂
Give it one more video of the Rambler!
Hahahahaha woman, love them and hate them.
I have a similar driving my blown hemi 41 Willys, it's a handful for sure
My OCD hates when you run your cars in your shop with the doors shut!
Flush the transmission , change fluid and filter. Chang transmission shift solenoid. Trans fluid was leaking for a while so put some back in , maybe it fell below it's correct operating level.
Keep the rambler I’d love to see all that content
Randy these are the kind of videos that are awesome GREAT JOB !!!👍👍👍👍👍
Rambler is a car made by Nash.
amc
Thomas B. Jeffery founded the Thomas B. Jeffery Company in 1878. The Thomas B Jeffery Company built the Rambler bicycle. In 1897, the Thomas B. Jeffery Company started experimenting with an automobile that became the Rambler. In 1902, the Thomas B. Jeffery Company developed an assembly line. The Rambler was the 2nd mass-produced vehicle. Oldsmobile had the 1st mass-produced vehicle, and Ford had the 3rd.
Charles Nash bought the Thomas B Jeffery Co. in 1916 and renamed it Nash Motors. Nash Motors reintroduced the Rambler in 1950 and produced it until 1954.
Nash Motors merged with Hudson Motor Car Co. in 1954 to form American Motors Corporaton (AMC) and continued the Rambler in the US until 1969 and until 1968 in international markets.
In 1967, AMC replaced the Rambler marque with the Rebel.
@@jmonte5899it's nice seeing someone else who knows the history.
Great video and car😀
Blower belt is way to tight mate around 2 inch deflection when cold on the shortest side between tensioner and top pulley. As the belt warms up it tightens, with that much tension you will do damage to the blower
maybe you could get one of those exhaust extractor systems at a reasonable price to connect up to cars exhausts so you could run them inside?
7:32 Tv Cable 😂
i know a guy in tyler tx that can build you a bullet proof th400
Can't see many wanting the Limo but it could be used to swap the whole drivetrain, computer, and gauge cluster into a clean Cadillac DTS of the same era. Just drop the cradle on both cars and swap.
ya, you dont need it, but its just so cool hahah, its a garage piece
That rambler is so bad ass!
A drag car is like a. boat a black hole you put money in but it's fun to use it so it be cool for power tour you be the only one have that car if it's easy to fix I whould use that car for it just put it on a TRL for the long runs
It's a shame you can't private sell some of these cars. My daughter is looking for her first car, and I think that minivan would be perfect for her
This rambler is incredible hope it’s an easy fix. Maybe it’s just that cable.
I had a 66 chevelle I put a rebuilt 396, 700 r4 trans with 2500 rpm stall converter and 411 rear into. The guy I sold the car to thought the trans was slipping and decided to adjust the trans kick down cable for some reason and ended up cooking the trans.
There's an old 1950s song called The beep beep and in the song there's a car which they refer to as a Nash rambler so maybe there was some kind of merger at some point.. beautiful car by the way
Are you pushing the cable or pulling the cable? there is a difference.
Did Monster do the transmission for the Rambler ? It's a cool car but some of the work is pretty crude.
Once you get the trans fixed and start hammering on it, who knows how much the engine will take before
it has problems or grenades. Blowers put a lot of pressure on internal parts, and who knows what kind
of parts they used when they built it, or how many hard runs it has on it. I can see it easily being a money pit.
On the other hand, you could drive it and run the crap out of it, and not have any problems.
Some trans fluid levels are meant to be checked with engine cold.
“Rare Corvette” no gen 5 is rare 😂 cmon
The 3-4 clutch packs on those when they go out, they go out. same on a 4L60E
Sounds very mild for what is being said, still badass, spend some time with it, and don't be scared of it
keep it you got youtube money, plus it's a cool one of kind car
The sawdust in the trans needs replacing?
Did u add some more transmission fluid too before drive it randy ?
Going fast is equaled by stopping fast
Detach that cable. it is interfering with the normal shifting. it is my thinking that the cable is for down the shifting speed once you hit the gas pedal all the way down
Watching the vid, Nice to see that one get some TLC. Not sure if anyone saw, the high is different on the rear end. One bolt lower one side to the other.
Yes for drag racing it’s set that way
@@AutoAuctionRebuilds thanks, that is interesting. Good to know.
That transmission should probably have a manual valve body, considering it's got a blown big block in front of it. (and a decent shifter!) That shifter looks like a major P.I.T.A. to deal with. A B&M Pro Ratchet would probably be a good choice in this case. Unless you're planning to actually race it, I don't think it would be wise to keep it, as it will be a constant money pit. Also not a good choice for any kind of drive n' drag trip with the blower since you'll probably only get 6 or 7 mpg. tops, and you'll need to find stations with good high octane fuel (or carry your own in a trailer). It's a neat car for sure, but it needs a lot of cleaning up, and of course the transmission issue.😉
Need a drag racer 3 and 4 at 60 miles? Maybe wrong gearbox for the road?
Name that thing MAD MAX!😅😂
That transmission didn't come from Monster Transmission did it?
Sounds like 3-4 solenoid is gone. 700-R4 is famous for that.
I’m not completely positive but the main belt may need to have just a little bit of play so it’s not strained so much
We got a transmission problem. So we bring it into the driveway and not the garage ?
Another one bites dust lol it would have been a good power tour car
Its a cool looking car.
Appreciate the power and the looks, but it will never be finished. Sell it while its running👍🏻
Keep it,have it professionally set up, seems Santa is somewhat well versed with street rods
Maybe it's got a stuck valve from sitting? You could also try loosening the TV cable a bit, but I doubt that's it since it was working at first.
the ladies aren’t ALWAYS right but more often than not.
Good-good-good=oh oh problem insert commercial ad
Back to a Manual, add power steering and AC power tour 2025
This is messed up i was looking forward to the rambler 30:00
Good luck 👍
Take that trans out send it to deon vickers vickers performance in alliance ohio and have him go through it. Tell him make it good for 1000hp. Add a good 2500 stall converter.
I think it needs a bottle of nitrous, get you in trouble, c'mon man-NITROUS !
Check out the modulator valve on the transmission Randy...
Ummm this is TV no modulator as I showed in the video.
Bring it back to Terre Haute. And I will buy it from you lol
Could the previous owner damaged it by not having the tvi cable working properly? If thats an aftermarket trans dipstick maybe it doesnt read the levels correctly.
That thing ain't made for putting around the neighborhood, LOL. A couple of runs at the track would be cool. 🙂
Yeah where's the carnage? I wanted to see a piston fly through a fender or a flex plate to go thru the passenger door. Click bait. Iv been got. You got me. Congratulations
Man, I wouldn’t think a 700R4 would be a good choice behind a 800 to 1000 hp engine. I think I would rather do a turbo 400 or a 6L90.
It's been a while since I have watched your flogs . A dragster is a bit much . I would rather look at the Corvette but to each his own. Thanks
PUT A MANUAL RACK & PINION STEERING SET-UP IN THE RAMBLER!!! MAYBE FROM FLAMING RIVER?
