When I read "Ordinary People" I also had the same unnerving experience of reading about and recognising specific S London locations I'm familiar with. Adds an extra layer of fun - though I had some issues with that first novel. You make the sequel sound really interesting though. I want to get to Bournville and Other Eden too. 📚 Safe travels! Have now heard two good reviews about In Ascension so it’s on the list! Coe is one of the best authors receiving little attention from book tube generally. His trilogy finishing with Middle England one of the best. Thanks Bob.😊
@@BobTheBookererI thought the Sea The Sea was beautifully written. Seemed like it was a 1950’s book in style and a lot of character studies before the story picked up. That being said I really enjoyed the book over all and am glad I read it
I went into IN ASCENSION kicking and screaming (I'm not at all a sci fi person) but at the insistence of a trusted friend and it's turned out to be in my top 3 reads of the year. It's absolutely stunning. I echo everything you said.
