We hear this one totally differently…I find when the MagicOne is deeply inserted, like wet the eartip deep, like the shell right back against your ear, the sound is very full and satisfying. Bass is very solid on bassy tracks. I don’t hear any lack in either low bass or mid-bass. Without deep insertion, it sounds pretty much as you describe it. :)
Its a weird effect when you deep insert. I think it actually lowers pinna/treble so you hear more bass. No one wants to hear that a $140usd set only sounds right if its deep inserted as not everyone will tolerate that or figure it out. Someone who owns it will run across your comment though and figure out. Thank for that.
@@PaulWasabii At least you don’t need triple flange eartips like on the Etymotic :) I can use a size smaller tip than usual and get great sound. The stock red and blue tips work very well, as do the small or medium TRI Clarions (more bass on the stock, more air on the Clarions). With the right tips and the right insertion I find the sound of the MagicOne to be addictive. Smooth, open, and natural. Without the right tips and insertion, I find the sound of the MagicOne to be ho-hum just another iem, kinda like the Simgot EM6L, but not quite. Makes me wonder how insertion depth would affect my other iems???
I am using Tangzu Tang Sancai eartips with the MagicOne so that I get deep insertion and pressure relief (venting) due to the rough texture of the eartip umbrellas. The bass and sub bass is quite satisfying. I have smaller ear canals which of course have a smaller overall volume in comparison to people with larger ear canals. This might partially account for why the MagicOne's bass is very satisfying for me.
I was looking forward to this review, because I was very interested in this set. I know that BAs can produce a very strong and technical bass in sets with a dedicated unit, but it's clear that MagicOne is not what I was hoping for.
True, dedicated bass BAs are a different animal than a full range. And yes, if you are looking for that, you want to buy one of those. Or planar is a between BA bass and DD.

Bass is just right, deep or not. EA500 has much more bass tho

You spoke very much about mid bass. In my opinion 200 hz to 500 hz is more like upper bass?
Sure, it is less confusing (or perhaps more) as the squig graphs are labeled midbass.

Yeah, 1BA is a cool thing, but 1+1 or 1+2 are just easier to implement and sound reasonable
