impressive collection!! i totally agree with you that you're always going to have a good time when picking up a penguin modern classic
Love the cover for Lolita here! I know Nabakov said that he didn't want any girls on the book cover. However, many publishers did put girls on the cover. I'm glad this one doesnt.
@luckystarfan77 I am in love with this cover, also im glad im reaching the right people here on youtube (i love lucky star)
i bought this edition specifically for this reason, it was the only one i’ve been able to find at a book store.
TH-cam recommandations finally working for me again, showing me great small channels like this, giving off a wonderful vibe and talking about books. I love it!

Hello there! I stumbled upon your channel quite unexpectedly, and what a delightful discovery it has been! Your channel exudes such a cozy atmosphere that immediately drew me in. I must say, your voice is incredibly soothing and filled with genuine warmth and passion for books. It's like listening to a dear friend sharing their love for literature. I've already hit that subscribe button and am eagerly looking forward to diving into your videos. Keep up the fantastic work!
@SayantikaSarkar007 Thank you so much this means a lot. 🥹
I've read about a third of these. Funny enough, I just finished reading Life For Sale a few weeks ago.
I love the Penguin or Wordsworth Modern classics 🤓👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

You need to pick up The Hearing Trumpet next. Try going in as blind as possible, and let Leonora surprise you. If you like her art you will like this book.

animal farm is a lot simpler than 1984 for example and a lot shorter too
Please can you add a list of authors and titles to the description. I didn’t catch some of them.
@johntuffin3262 Hello, sorry about that I included it on the description just now. Hope it helps! 😸
I wanted to read Mishima since long time ago, I didn't know it was queer literature, now I NEED to read it...
Hey, I can hardly hear u. You may want to use a lapel microphone
@CosmoInterstelar yes one of my goals is to read all mishima 💚 i’ll try and get a mic as soon as I can 😭
No! Flip the video 😭😭
@onedarcgod5047 im sorry !!! 🥲
@@rosscoronia aah love it's okay 🫠😚📚
Just a little reminder that Mishima was a literal fascist and a nostalgic of imperial Japan who tried to organise a military coup to overthrow the democratic government, and after seeing he failed he committed suicide by seppuku. I don't mean it implying that you shouldn't enjoy his literature, I myself loved Confessions of a mask, I felt it was precisely this dark and twisted character of the writer what made the story so special; I just think it is important to keep it in mind and reflect on separating the art from the artist, as the comment you made on him looking cool sounded a bit weird to me. Very nice list nonetheless!
