What’s cool with OCT1 battle preludes is the simplicity of it that explodes into the transition and fits about anywhere in there. OCT2 expands on the character’s theme and giving it more of the character’s inner theme to transition into battle, which is cool, but sometimes the elements of it can get out of hand. Needless to say, they’re all cool OST to listen to.
Yep, I think for freedom, for treasure all and succor represent the characters very well. For freedom just radiates the sadness, desperation, and emptiness Therion is feeling. For treasure in currently in spirit of Tressa's character, a person eager to see the world, corruption or any threat won't stop her, she'll adapt, whatever it takes. And for Succor just feels like Alfyn's morals trying to seep into the sadness of the apothecary career sad in a way I think, whether that be Vanessa's corruption, or Miguel betrayal.

This is almost in the spelling of Octopath order, except H'aanit's theme is third and Tressa is last.

of all the battle themes my personal favourite is still battle at journey's end
For me, Decisive Battle 2 still atop of the others soundtracks even the second game (I mean boss battle's theme)
I think in average the first game has the more refined bgms, and the second game has the more heart pumping ones
