I've witnessed Nelly's ups and downs over the past years. More than a friend, she's been an incredible role model to me. Growing up in the Middle East is tough, especially when you have a dream. And even more if that dream is really crazy. And yet, Nelly stays positive almost all the time, despite the countless obstacles and hardships, she has an insane work ethic, and constantly pushes herself and people around her to achieve their full potential. As someone who grew up with nothing but a Lebanese passport, I understand how many barriers that identity has put against my pursuit of my goals. This woman is fighting against the slimmest of odds. She represents all that is good in a country whose leaders keep making it more suffocating to dream. Nelly you're a true hero. You inspire us all to keep fighting.

Mine may not qualify as seeking discomfort as its been all uncomfortable, but I was told and seen as a kid that I really can't do math. I didn't really pass my math classes through school and adulthood. This past Monday, I challenged an entry exam for an accounting and payroll course. I've been struggling with money and finances all my life. I didn't cry this time while writing it. I just learned that aced the entry exam! I've been pushing through, all discomfort. I want to see my daughter proud of me, whom I've not seen for 10 years or met my 5yr old granddaughter, and I would like to provide a legacy income for them both. Im hoping to go from lifelong discomfort to comfort and my daughters hugs and playing with my granddaughter in a house I buy for them. (And one for myself). I hope this new path and the Accounting payroll course will continue to open up. One way forward.
My biggest goal in life is to one day meet Ammar and Thomas and tell them how much they have changed my life for the better. The entire Yes Theory and Seek Discomfort team truly is a special movement, and I cant thank you all enough for the amazing content you put out, and the positivity you all put out into the universe! I used to be an individual who had terrible anxiety and depression. I viewed myself as worthless and a waste of space. Since watching your videos I have learned to appreciate myself and the world around me more. I've even gotten a SEEK tattoo on my arm and everyday I see it as a reminder to go out and be my most genuine self. Thank you Seek Discomfort for being an inspiration to so many.

If you're not inspired by this then nothing can inspire you. Beautiful encouragement from beautiful people. I'm shedding tears of happiness as much as nelly was at the top of k2. Nothing is better than watching people achieve their dreams. Whether it's an actual mountain summit like this queen accomplished, or a metaphorical summit of your own, it's a tremendous thing. If you read this far just know that I hope you conquer whatever proverbial summit you encounter next. The world is not as hopeless as it sometimes seems.

Felt it hard when she said “you don’t know when you’re gonna go” My mom passed in 2019 and ever since I’ve lived life as if I never know when i’ll go. People dying around you changes the concept of “i’ll do it when i retire” completely.

I understand and totally support people chasing their dreams but to always and mostly boast about people climbing mountains or crossing rivers or running marathons and glorifying the person can always make someone else feel inferior or doubt themselves when they’re not doing such crazy act yet being a hero or doing a heroic act. Maybe sponsor someone next who is doing a simple yet a powerful act or living a mission where a community is being impacted. It’s ordinary to do extraordinary things but it’s extraordinary to do ordinary things. That’s why I connect more with what Thomas is doing with the channel. It’s reaching out to simple and ordinary people in different countries and connecting with them and the brave heart they’re living with. I wish 20,000 went to that Moldavian grandpa to give him a place to live. Not downplaying anything Nelly is doing but can we just stop glorying the mountain climbers and such acts? I don’t know.
