When I did this job I had to use a puller to get the outer bearing off of the output shaft and a press to get the new one installed. I don't understand how your bearings slipped on and off the output shaft so seamlessly but good on ya, mate.
G'day Don, I am reasembling the IRS on my 1988 XJ-S; your video on hub reassembly, and output shaft assy are fantastic: no rubbish just the facts, with extremely helpful parts identification. My first question is: is a hydraulic press an alternative to drifting the bearing races in? Second question: I am now at the stage of setting up the half shaft to fulcrum shaft distances (I had to shim the half shaft to center the brake calipers on the rotors). Are you going to do a video on this step? Much appreciated. Cheers Chris
