A few notes: With testing, I'm not sure anyone cares if you poison food pots. I don't think you need to do water to avoid aggro but it's still good for extending quantity. The concubine eats earlier than the boys. If you poison the pot 30 minutes before they eat, she won't be poisoned yet. You can spare her life by adding a different potion in before the next meal time, since food pots only carry the most recent potion effect. No, you don't have to do this poison method to get the jacket. You can knock out, or stealth kill the lad to get the jacket. This is just a super fast way with little risk involved. If you're just wanting the jacket I think this is the best method, but you can certainly go about it in other ways. Lastly, as an FYI, you can farm these guys a bit if you want. The guards respawn after 10 days but you can't kill the vicar or the mission fails. If you want multiple batches of loot, stealth kill and then wait 10 days to do it again. There is a time limit to this mission but it's pretty long. I don't know how many respawns you can get in but it's more than one.
@@UnclePengy I played around with pots a bit and yeah, any other potion added to the pot will remove the previous one. You can make sure she eats first, then poison, then change to something else after the boys die.
I seriously had no idea if you added Bane to water it wouldn't be noticed. I wish i had known this before i did the infiltration of Pribislavitz. I could never get the Bane into the pots unnoticed.
I usually just stealth takedown everyone before the sabotage (I love stealth so much) but at least one time I just blitzed it and did everything quickly. With high stealth skill and low vis con, it takes them a decent amount of time to react, but even at average levels it's pretty forgiving if your speed is good. I just ensured the only potions on me were poison so I didn't have to spend time choosing and kept the plate armor off to increase speed and reduce noise. It was surprisingly effective! Also very fun.
@TrialBySquire yeah the Cuman camp was easy. But in the Bandit camp there were literally guys sitting right there who never moved. Literally right next to the fire.
@@TrialBySquire yeah by then it was like my 10th try. I was getting tired and angry so I just wanted to get it done. Lol only got 2/4 pots. Bit next playthrough I'll get those AND the arrows.
@mattt233 I definitely have had playthroughs where I didn't/couldn't get it done, especially early on. Honestly, it's mostly a difficulty slider for the next mission so nothing wrong with not sabotaging and enjoying a bigger challenge in the next part
It was incredibly easy to just aggro the bodyguards by shooting an arrow at their feet from a distance. When they come for you, just kill them. There are good hiding spots all around the church. I was able to kill them both without attracting any attention. No bounty. It took 5 minutes. I also wanted the Black Combat Jacket, so I simply gave this method a try, and all worked out. The quest went on as usual, with the Vicar alive.
@@leonshore4336 for sure. I've stealth killed him while asleep as well and that usually works out fine. I can't say I loved putting a hole in my new jacket, though. 🤣 There are many good ways to handle this quest depending on priorities. I rather enjoy watching them ragdoll from the poison, personally.
You absolutely don't have to kill them, you're right. The poison is what reduces the risk as a poison kill is not credited to you. Also, it's fast. You can also kill them and wait for them to respawn and kill them again for a second set of their loot. I've definitely killed the concubine (she'll respawn). I was reading the wiki and it suggested it's the Dark Combat Jacket you can get from B.o.B. I know it can be wrong and I don't remember which I saw on him. Is it the Dark or Black on that dude? Wiki says Black can only be waldensians and ambushes but I'd love some first-hand accounts.

@@Hadras7094 you know what? I got my info wrong. The Dark Combat jacket is the one you can get from band of bastards. The original commentor is right that there's a rare chance of getting the Black Combat Jacket from ambush random encounters. (From the wiki)

Or just get it at skallitz it will always spawn eventually on the random bandits there if you don't get it just ride away a bit they will respawn I usually just ride to the end of the road that dead ends past the farmers house and that resets it

For sure! Especially if you intend to complete the mission it's better to just knock them out and take their stuff. I will say, you can actually farm them if you cared to. You can kill just the guards with stealth kill to take their stuff and then wait 10 days for them to return and do it all again. I've done that on a run where I wasn't allowed to spend money (so I couldn't pay to repair overly distressed gear). This was just a super fast method for getting gear with little to no risk/effort. Definitely not the only way to approach it.
