It’s How You Finish Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. -Philippians 2:16 The most important part of the race is the finish line. Yes, the start is important, but you can have a bad start and still finish well. However, if you finish badly, it doesn’t matter how well you started. You’re simply tired, and it was all for nothing. Finishing is everything. In Acts 20, the apostle Paul talked about finishing the race of life well. He said, “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus-the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God” (verse 24) When we’re young, we may think that we’re just starting our race. But we don’t know how long our lives will be. That is why we want to run the race of life well. And the objective is to finish well too. In the New Kings James Version of this verse, Paul says that he wants to finish his race “with joy.” Some Christians have lost their joy. They may have started off their race with joy, but then something happened to them. Maybe they lost interest in the things of God or other things crowded out their relationship with the Lord. They still do the things that they should as a Christian, but they’re simply going through the motions. And they’re not happy about it. They need to pray, like the psalmist David, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you” (Psalm 51:12) For the Christian, the race of life is not a sprint; it’s a long-distance run. As Hebrews encourages us, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith” (12:1-2) Paul warned about looking back in this race. He said, “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us” (Philippians 3:13-14) You can’t run a good race if you’re looking over your shoulder. You can trip and fall. Don’t look wistfully at the sinful things you used to do. Put it behind you. Here’s how to run the race well and finish it well: Run it for Jesus. Don’t run it for people. Don’t run it out of mere duty. You have an audience of one. Jesus Christ Himself is watching you. So run for Him. Don’t just start your race well. Finish it well. And finish it with joy.
Omg, I finally found it. THIS is the game I was playing on my uncle's computer when I was 8. I didn't understand a thing back then ! But I remember having an evil town, and that tiny horse and flag moving on the map. 20 years later ... 😅

Haven't finished watching the video yet, but at 54:10 you mention that not being able to see damage estimation on attacks is a missing feature. It isn't, you just never turned it on in the options tab! It's the 'all statistics' option, or something similar to that.
OMG, this game! This is nostalgia right here :P Being a kid, playing DOOM 2, Tekken 3, Goldeneye with friends, and this ❤ Gaming before "gaming" was even a term 😂
Really appreciate good commentary! Giving your reasoning behind some choices makes me want to try playing again. When I was little I watched my older brother play, but when I tried it myself some years ago it was very intimidating with all the strategy, so I kinda gave up
Recently purchased Heroes3 magazine from Poland :) I can't read in that language, but thanks god exist auto translators :D Whole magazine only about Heroes3 ! If someone interested: CD-Action - wydanie specjalne: Heroes of Might and Magic III
Ok, i'm 7 mins into the video and it seems it's exactly what I've been looking for. I've played this game about 15 years ago (or even more), loved it, but never actually learned to play. Now I'm too old to learn everything from the scratch, so you explaining your every decision is extremally helpful. I've known the basics for years now, but never learned to utilize them well. For example: I knew making multiple heroes and breaking big stack into multiple 1 man stacks are good, but didn't exactly know how to utilize this knowledge. Btw I'm back to the game after decade or so thanks to new Factory faction:)
I got the HD edition too, just for the achievements, so you are not alone 😂A tip for the achievements: if you get bored of the any of the win x times on difficulty achievements, know you can save before a win and reload the save and repeat that untill the achievement unlocks
Damn i didnt know that :D I was so tired of grinding achievements that for the last few at impossible level I prepared a map with the opponent's castle next to me and a few archangels. it's like cheating, but after more than 20 years of playing h3 I just decided that I just can ;) sorry world
I just made a map with the map editor (from the gog version) where I just have to walk into the opponents town to win, and just played it 10 times for each difficulty lmao.

Thanks for the playthrough, it's always a pleasure seeing a HOMM3 video popping up and watching you play. Kudos for the surrender move to get back to town in time. Never would have had this idea on my own in a lifetime :D Yeah, QoL improvements are missing, but hey... when I play HD it's a bit like playing Nethack. It's nostalgia, taking time for moves, checking whether everything is in place. In the right mood it's cool, in the wrong mood it's annoying. Love your vids, thanks for the content!
1:26:20 mistake, you definitely want expert air magic so magic arrow costs less and does more damage, you're right next to a mana refill and have +5 knowledge
Man, I learned a lot from this video. Nice going for playing this on Impossible difficulty (I mostly play on Normal). It's really enjojable to watch people who play these classic gems, and your videos are spot on! Keep up the great work!

Heey Norovo, last month I finally completed all steam achievements and so far this is my only steam game i 100% completed :) Completing the campaign was quite easy for me, except 6th campaign (Song for The father) and the great battle to recapture the capital gave me lot of problems. I finished the game for the first time in my youth, in early 2000s and then it didn't cause me so much trouble as i remember. Guess I'm getting old :) greetings from Poland mate and thanks for your work!
You had +20 attack in that castle and you kept defending instead of attacking. Those wolves didn't do anything in the final defence and they could have massacred those unicorns. After all, there were like 40 of them and each had twenty something damage.

To be honest, I actually prefer the old graphics. I think the pixels make it easier for your brain to fill in the gaps while this sort of painted artstyle looks, well, painted.
i played this map as my second map ever. tho that was 1 week ago lol. my friend got me into it and now im basacly addicted so i asked for the best heroes 3 youtubers and he recommended you!
I'm happy for the playthrough as I find this map actually very difficult. It was very lucky to steal a town with the grail in it, otherwise I think it would have been very challenging.

Héroes Might and magic 3(preferibly complete edition GOG) is by far the best Héroes Might and magic game and I really don't think there will ever be another game of the saga to be as good as this one still is. Yeah graphics have improved and so forth. But the gameplay of this game, the stuningly interective World map, narratives events, even the creatures designs, no way. Its peak masterpiece.
Amazing content, I really enjoyed your commentary and play through. I wouldn't mind if you could expand a little bit more on the reasoning behind some of the decisions you made. 😊
What's interesting about the unit splitting is on the original non patched version of the game you could not split in any way. You had to find the patch back in the day for the cd version.
I remember having a CD with HOMM3:RoE back in the day, and splitting was a thing here. Although it's quite possible that the Russian version was already patched.
I remember the day i bought this great game. They had the perfect balance here, when they get the right formula why do they completely change it or ignore it in later games?
No, the best thing here 26:21 is to move archer to pickeman. At that stage pickeman has higher rait of dmg/health. Gargoyles will attack pickeman, blocking the archers, but it saves the archers.
2:12:42 An even crazier (and riskier) play you could have done was crushed Clancy's army down to 1/4 size and then surrendered. Would have been cheaper too. And could have gone horribly wrong.
This was my First lets Play HoMaM Video and i think i learned a lot. For example i thought Splitting your weakest unit is Something you can do, but is Not really important. I was really surprised when you killed the unicorns at the beginning. Normaly i spend the first week building towards the Capitol and i thought starting without resources is really Impossible to win. But i think you got really lucky with the free Grail town. I go much more for resources and thought all the time Take the Goldmine Back, Go to the watermill, there is a Sulfur mine only blocked by a couple of gargoyles in the West! But after all thanks for showing how much you can do with Low Level Units.
This is like my all-time favorite game. When steam made it available it was like 30 bucks for five of the games. It was like Heroes 3, 5, and 7. It was a steal when it dropped down to like $15 for everything. I played this Heroes game on the computer when it first came out and then as time went on we jumped to Heroes. 3. I'm kind of saddened you couldn't get the expansions, but honestly we didn't have that much experience with the expansion. So be nice to learn from what we can see how you play the game. Especially when my friends like he calls the last level and the campaign b******* because you get like three four bases and you get bombarded from the very beginning
When you're on a map object that has an interaction when you first step onto it (whirlpools, windmills, portals, etc.), rather than moving off and back to it, or moving further into the whirlpool, you can instead hit spacebar to interact with it without moving. This lets you jump between multiple destination portals and whirlpools without wasting extra movement points.
1:20:06 just gang up on the dendroids with everything, they always reach but you have a massive Attack skill advantage and probably kill a lot of them :) Should lose less troops overall presumably. Edit: Same mistake around 3:00:50, if you sacrifice the bird (take retal from demons & block unicorn) to let the wolves completely demolish them, you're probably losing less overall. (or actually, watching further, AI played that so stupidly with the Blind, it probably actually worked in your favour nonetheless, pfft) Still, great video (even withthe nuisance HD Edition poses), sorry for the nitpicking :D
Why did you never grab the crystal mine east of your castle? it was available so early after you took out the dwarves? Is there a game mechanic that triggers more attacks??...
Yeah skip this..., and install Heroes 3 complete edition (gog) and download the HD mod. In which you can go to 2k resolution with extra options. Then install the resize mod, which accurately scales the creatures proportionally. A Gremlin or Imp n is not the same size as a Dragon for example.
I feel like it was a lot of luck finding that city already with grail for free. AI is not good in H3C even though the sheer fact they already found the grail is sick. Anyway, thanks for sharing, with 1.5 playspeed I got to 1:47:02 before leaving this :D
Bought HD after complete; got it refunded 20 mins after seeing how massively inferior it was to complete ed, let alone to the HotA mod. Still nice that you'll cover the different versions tho, especially for newcomers.
ascension is a real fun map! couldn't find a conflux playthrough on your channel, is it too good or some other reason you haven't done a video with it yet?
And finish it with joy.
is it just me or do the HD edition town models actually look more like, blocky or plasticine-y than the HD mod ones? I was actually quite struck by the difference in this video! Still really enjoyed the playthrough though :). It's hard to ruin a great game like H3
Why I don't recommend HD Edition: th-cam.com/video/07oIOX8ki9E/w-d-xo.html

When I was little I watched my older brother play, but when I tried it myself some years ago it was very intimidating with all the strategy, so I kinda gave up
Ive been waiting for a video from you for weeks. Great video btw

Thee hour Novoro video? Amazing start to my Sunday!
Enjoyed the longer format, great map. Thanks a bunch!
My sense of pride prevents me doing stuff like that 😂@@CanadaBeef

Completing the campaign was quite easy for me, except 6th campaign (Song for The father) and the great battle to recapture the capital gave me lot of problems.
15:02 you mentioned that you can't see repeat turn, you can, it's in the same menu as the dig option
Love your uploads. Keep it coming!
The HD Edition would be playable if it included the expansions.
Love this game. It's been 20 years or so since I've played this. Still one of my favorite series.
👍👍👍
It’s How You Finish
Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless.
-Philippians 2:16
The most important part of the race is the finish line. Yes, the start is important, but you can have a bad start and still finish well. However, if you finish badly, it doesn’t matter how well you started. You’re simply tired, and it was all for nothing. Finishing is everything.
In Acts 20, the apostle Paul talked about finishing the race of life well. He said, “But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus-the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God” (verse 24)
When we’re young, we may think that we’re just starting our race.
They need to pray, like the psalmist David, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you”
(Psalm 51:12)
For the Christian, the race of life is not a sprint; it’s a long-distance run.
As Hebrews encourages us, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith” (12:1-2)
Paul warned about looking back in this race. He said, “No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us”
(Philippians 3:13-14)
You can’t run a good race if you’re looking over your shoulder.
And finish it with joy.
i dont know about this hd mode, but you had your statistics off in combat screen and probably thats why you dont see possible damage
The HD edition is really nice looking, It is a shame it doesn't come with the expansions.
To be honest, I actually prefer the old graphics. I think the pixels make it easier for your brain to fill in the gaps while this sort of painted artstyle looks, well, painted.
its not bad but it does feel like someone used a bunch of upscaling tools in photoshop the pikeman look weird.
I really hope they'll merge HD, complete edition, horn of the abyss and port It on VCMI, that'd be absolutely awesome ...
They could but they didn't even bothered to add two expansions to it, even when source codes for them were found...
I just watched your last video (the long one) and it has been really entertaining and informative for me, that's why I subed
i played this map as my second map ever. tho that was 1 week ago lol. my friend got me into it and now im basacly addicted so i asked for the best heroes 3 youtubers and he recommended you!
Play the GoG version is much better. So much!
@@atanashristov4148 ok but how? I just bought it on steam like a year ago but its first now i even understand it. Where could i buy it?
On GoG? Complete Edition + HD milod is so much better than this Heavy Dump on Steam...
What a great playthrough! And, boy, is the HD mod far superior to the HD edition...
Hooray for a new HOMM3 video!! 🎉
I'm happy for the playthrough as I find this map actually very difficult. It was very lucky to steal a town with the grail in it, otherwise I think it would have been very challenging.

Niiice! I've been waiting for more of your content!
Great map! Enjoyed the long format
One does not simply play the Hd Edition instead of the complete edition
I've got to say, one thing I like about the HD edition is the UI typeface.
Loved playing this game 20yrs ago
What's interesting about the unit splitting is on the original non patched version of the game you could not split in any way. You had to find the patch back in the day for the cd version.
I remember having a CD with HOMM3:RoE back in the day, and splitting was a thing here.
Although it's quite possible that the Russian version was already patched.
I've been playing this for YEARS I LOVE IT 💖
I bought HD version on steam. I love it. I am a casual player wish they have hd expansion version tho.
there is a mod on the workshop that does just that
Get refund, don't buy this garbage version 😢
UbiScamm should get punished for their moneygrab...
recently bought age of wonders 4 which gives me so much of heroes 3 vibes its awesome
I remember the day i bought this great game. They had the perfect balance here, when they get the right formula why do they completely change it or ignore it in later games?
I just found the Horn of the Abyss mod and I am addicted once again to this game, just like I was when I was a kid
i like the art and art style in this game. very old dnd while being innovative
No, the best thing here 26:21 is to move archer to pickeman. At that stage pickeman has higher rait of dmg/health. Gargoyles will attack pickeman, blocking the archers, but it saves the archers.
Thanks, I really like when there is some sort of challange in the scenario!
Finally found it, This is the game that I don't understand but still play as a kid
2:12:42 An even crazier (and riskier) play you could have done was crushed Clancy's army down to 1/4 size and then surrendered. Would have been cheaper too. And could have gone horribly wrong.
Was my favorite game as a kid and one of the first PC games I owned, together with warcraft 2 and might and magic 7, the RPG
Thank you again for the awesome content.
@3:06:40 - Nice battle strats. Solid win.
this was so much fun! can't belive I watched this in one straight session haha
Ive spent so many hours of my life playing this game when it was newish very long time ago.🙂
Looks like loynis is taking part in a lot of adventures.
2:33:17 FINALLY, you took that crystal mine! >.<
A.G.
There are very few games I can say are a true 10/10 and this is one of them.
Maybe the best turn based game ever made.
"Everything costs wood and ore" not a single resource silo built =( other than that, awesome channel =p (also that retreat move was sick)
Skeletons are the best creatures in the game. IYKYK 😂
You are amazing at the game. It really shows why the british were able to take over the world
3:08:44 the Elves break the wall with their arrows! What are they feeding them?
As usual, great work!
HE'S FINALLY BACK!
I don't think this is a feature of the HD edition as i'm fairly certain Noro already knows this and uses the spacebar often in his other playthroughs.
That's Heavy Dump Edition for You 😂
Love your Accent! Where are you from?
1:20:06 just gang up on the dendroids with everything, they always reach but you have a massive Attack skill advantage and probably kill a lot of them :)
Should lose less troops overall presumably.
Edit: Same mistake around 3:00:50, if you sacrifice the bird (take retal from demons & block unicorn) to let the wolves completely demolish them, you're probably losing less overall. (or actually, watching further, AI played that so stupidly with the Blind, it probably actually worked in your favour nonetheless, pfft)
Still, great video (even withthe nuisance HD Edition poses), sorry for the nitpicking :D
Why did you never grab the crystal mine east of your castle? it was available so early after you took out the dwarves? Is there a game mechanic that triggers more attacks??...
I played this game in my 14. Thanks.
More play through's please, iv already watched all the others lol
This game has really stood the test of time.
I'm playing it in 2024, as a 57 year old fart, on a 50 quid retro handheld :)
Why main menu flame is at an angle? Is there a wind? Why flame texture doesn't match the rest of the menu art?
I feel like it was a lot of luck finding that city already with grail for free. AI is not good in H3C even though the sheer fact they already found the grail is sick. Anyway, thanks for sharing, with 1.5 playspeed I got to 1:47:02 before leaving this :D
Bought HD after complete; got it refunded 20 mins after seeing how massively inferior it was to complete ed, let alone to the HotA mod. Still nice that you'll cover the different versions tho, especially for newcomers.
Achievement hunting goooo!!! I would be so in for that 😁
Why does the music jump around like that? At multiple moments the soundtrack loops or plays the wrong part, did they change that?
ascension is a real fun map! couldn't find a conflux playthrough on your channel, is it too good or some other reason you haven't done a video with it yet?
Will you ever play other heroes games like homm 4/homm 5?
The HD mod can split stacks and do quick combat for you
Great game! Many challenging and entertaining battles, really enjoyable to watch!

2:32:30 the Loynis swamp dance was inspired
Looking forward to the deep dive
so many school days lost over this game. :P
Finally a Noro has a new video....
is it just me or do the HD edition town models actually look more like, blocky or plasticine-y than the HD mod ones? I was actually quite struck by the difference in this video! Still really enjoyed the playthrough though :). It's hard to ruin a great game like H3
I loved this even though I watched 2 hours. I remember as a kid this game, it was cosmos back in the times...
how do u scale it to full screen? if i make hd then my screen isnt full-filled and picture is too small.
