Yep, for me, the same goes for "Behemoth" as well! Whenever anyone mentions the word outside of HoMM3 context, it is still the lvl 7 creature that I picture in my head.

It's a treat watching you play, I'm picking up sooo many tips and tricks about early exploration and expanding. The thought of moving the main army to a secondary hero at the end of a turn just to clear an easy fight never really ocurred to me :D And again, simply putting tier 1 units in 7 different stacks is also genious for defending, never thought about that either!

Hey, not an avid Heroes player here. Could anyone explain to me what happens when an enemy hero picks up a quest artifact and ends up banished or otherwise disappears? Do the artifacts go to the black market? But what if there is no black market on the map?
1:05:21 I'm confused... Why wouldn't casting bless on you Elves be better than casting a 20-damage Magic Arrow? Damage range from Elves was 98-164 (for an average of 131), so blessing them would increase effective damage by 66 (33x2 cause Grand Elves have two shots). Definitely better than a magic arrow ! Or maybe the damage range that was given was for the total of the two shots? In which case yeah, not a big difference :P
I might be wrong, but I believe HD mod normally shows damage per shot while the SoD_SP addon (which I'm using) shows the dmg range for two shots. It's a bit confusing.
@@Norovo Ayy that might be that indeed. It would make sense, because I'm pretty sure I had already tested the effects of Bless in my games, and the damage range given was only per shot
Why did you start using Magic arrow at 1:10:00 ? You've got 50 spell points you can definitely stomach the 8sp ice bolt.... Also, why did you waste your spells on those Hydras? They are literally damage sinks, I feel like that battle could have played out better by killing units with lower HP counts first using the ice bolts.
@MazanakaUA Not full copyright strikes, but a little over a year ago Heroes 3 vids were hit by a wave of copyright claims due to the soundtrack. It's better now, I think, but ever since I've been using a custom soundtrack
I like game, but I still haven't found a way how to overcome 2 personally frustrating things. One of them is that to have a chance against AI , a big part of the game, you'll have to keep eggs in one basked aka your army, and if one of the enemies backdoors you will have annoying time chasing it. But at least this part is manageable. Worst-case scenario, you can reload before it shows up. And second thing, some maps will have AI with strong armies from start and if one of them visits your kingdom early, I have no idea how to deal with it. Anyway, that's more my issues and not games problem.
Yeah, those can be frustrating. In some situations it's best to get used to losing towns, if you can do something more useful elsewhere. I often stick some weak defenders in just to pick off a few attackers with the towers and focus on conquering elsewhere
I failed this map, because I could only 4 defense. Black market had no defense boost items and neither did the Artifact merchant. I couldn't arse myself to farm the respawning creatures. Kinda funny map other than it might not soft-lock, but make finishing really tedious.
Looks like he's just using HD Mod. In HotA your starting hero will always have 3 starting stacks and your initial town will have the first two tiers of dwellings built (unless the map is otherwise modified).
It's not ALWAYS a good idea to split one unit into 6 with 1 each. you need to do some math FIRST. this is why you never really do better than the autobattler. you're basically also just autobattling and not thinking things through. You want stacks that are exactly just big enough to take out an enemy stack in a single hit. having a bunch of 1 stacks running around does very little, and usually they end up being unnecessarily sacrificed. maybe 1 or 2 1 sized stacks as decoys, but having say, 30 centaurs, you don't need more than 13 or 14 to take out a stack of 6 imps (by 3 stacks, say) in a single hit, so 2 stacks of 14 plus 2 stacks of 1 each is MUCH more efficient than one stack of 24 plus 6 stacks of 1 each. you will end up losing LESS units that way.

At 9:25 you could've bought Citadel and then Dwarf Cottage. (I can't judge, I didn't notice that until the next day myself)
You should have gone for the blue heroes, they could have the needed artifacts just like they had the wooden armor.

You could have built the +1 Defense building in the fortress town and get the stat that way

I think the artifact stays on the hero, and they get added to tavern pool (so can be eventually be found by repeatedly buying and dismissing heroes)
