My friend showed me this game last week. I don't know how I could have missed it. It's so much fun when playing with other people on the same PC. This old game is a jewel. But I get upset when my unicorns are harmed.
I love this community, it's funny how everyone seems just as excited as me to see another video. Guess I'm not too weird after all. Keep it coming Noro! I don't get much time to play myself these days but I really enjoy your videos :)
Played this game the first time, when I was six before Amageddons Blade was released. Norovo brought me back to the game with this mod and I fell in love it once again. Thank you for the content, presenting one of the best games ever made!
One thing I realised watching this series is that putting a small force in a Garrison defending your town is sensible, because it will use up accumulated luck and morale bonuses in advance of an attack. A small difference most of the time, but probably worth it to lose one creature to save more than one 🙂
I loved this game as a kid. They did everything righ, aesthetics/ gameplay/ music. Unfortunately im in my 30's and not enjoying playing video games that much aynymore but happy to see its still alive
Really from this part if red put a grail and upgraded mage guild to 5 it could be a different story . 32:45 The tree will help him upgrade the level and maybe earth spells too . 36:55 really Gargoyles somehow is tower creature when he really have more common with necropolis and lives in graves and destroyed churches (Sometimes in famous buildings too) with dark characteristic and red eye (Still can see it in upgraded Gargoyles) . 1:02:40 Swarm I guess because thats very rare to see (maybe Nomads in one particular map and skeletons)
I think this map could have gone completely different for you if it hadn't been for some unfortunate choices, such as fighting that garrison early on, as well as the fact you even went for that corner instead of the top left, where I had a feeling the red town would actually be, as it indeed was. On the other hand maybe it's cool that you got all those setbacks, because the comeback was pretty satisfying and it was overall something different to see. Oh... But I was somewhat annoyed you didn't build that mana vortex and instead went for the portal of summoning (which could have easily waited). The lack of mana cost you significant losses in a few subsequent battles, especially when you were unable to unblind your units. But nobody's perfect. It was still a fantastic gameplay. I bet I would have messed up many different things myself. Well done!
Love your Heroes content! Just one request: could you maybe turn down the animation speed in battle a tiny bit? I do remember that it was slower in your older videos, so you could actually see what's happening, how many units die and so on
Thank you, and I'll keep it in mind. Unfortunately I don't like the animation speed options in Horn of the Abyss - I agree this one is slightly too fast, but I think the next setting below it is too slow.
Incredible turn of events! I enjoyed this series very much, just like all the others. Completely turning the tide when almost all hope was lost, that was clutch dude. Since you won that very hard map at the highest difficulty, I have to ask to make me feel better about myself 😅, you must sometimes lose maps off-camera right? Or do you simply win all the maps that you play? Obviously I mean the FFA ones, I don't expect you to always win against 7 Impossible AI that are teammates haha
Thanks! Sometimes I make really stupid mistakes through rushing like attacking with my main hero before picking up my army, and I usually reload an autosave in that case. Occasionally I will abandon a recording if I am in the wrong headspace and keep forgetting silly things like that, it's not fun then. But if I have a proper go at something and my best isn't good enough then I think I would still upload it. I usually test-run maps for half an hour or so before I start recording (bad habit because sometimes I'm still there 2 hours later and realise I could have just made the video). Most are fine but I know there are much harder maps I haven't tried. I lost on a map called Maelstrom off-camera not long ago. In 2016 I was worse at the game but I did a Christmas series where I nearly got wiped out and had to reload several times to recover.
I had a quick look but couldn't see what you mean. If you mean ore, sometimes there's inconsistency between the ore total at the bottom of the screen and on the town screen on HD mod as the bottom total stops updating when the town screen is open - maybe something to do with that?
@@Norovo That sounds about right. I've been playing advanced classes mod recently and using HD for the first time. I've been noticing the update delay.
Hey I bought the game from gog, just wondering how I get the ui like yours - with hot keys for 1 stack, info on how much dmg I do and how far the enemy can move etc? I have tried the shift/alt/control keys
I believe the main one he uses is the HD mod (not to be mistaken with the terrible HD 'remake' on steam. He's also using one of the community made expansions, which changes some things up.
Really pains me that at the 1h mark, when the tower hero was about to attack your second fortress town, you didn't leave your units in the town except dragons, go dracogeddon, retreat, and rebuy your hero and have the rest of your units. Even with a low spellpower, it should have decimated their ranged units
@@rene127 The trick is to install your GOG game and the HD mod in another folder than your Program Files (normal or x86). For some reason the HD mod doesn't work when it is installed into the Program Files, I don't know why that is. So simply create a new folder outside the Program Files (literally everywhere else), re-install Homm3 Complete into that folder, as well as the HD mod. And that should be it, really simple to run :)
I used to be medicore at heroes 3. But After playing the campaign of heroes 6 on highest difficulty and trying to min max everything i do, heroes 3 200% became piss. I did this map in 51days (month 2 week 4 day 1 on 200% with the same starting conditions), First Time, I started the map after watching first 10mins of the first part, i finished the game then came back and watched). 1. fortress (green position) 2. same heroes (i even rerolled to get exactly 5 lizards) 3. random towns (red happened to be also fortress which was convenient, i killed red at the start of week 4.) I did use auto save 4-5 in the early game (to reduce loses). However, i did not get any troops joining me at all (sadge) compared to Norovo (several) so that balances it out. I did not use auto save at all after the first 3 weeks. Tip: ignore hydras, they are not a real unit when you on budget. I did not purchase a single hydra by the end of the game Strategy: Week1: buy another hero day 1-2 and another on day 4-5. Give ALL troops to main hero, so that he can do gorgon/wyvern in week 1. All side heros should be picking up all types of resources so they can exchanged into gold later on (only build town hall and use rest of money troops) Week2: sell all resources to buy gorgon/wyvern again day 1 (you would have 6 gorgon/4wyvern) then push towards red. Do all objectives that give gold and kill all creeps that give gold. Main hero should only pick up gold and not resources to not waste time. You should have enough troops to beat red's main hero, but you may not have troops let to seige the town if you do find him. Build city hall/serpent/gorgon during the week in that order Week3. Take red's town if you don't run into his main hero (he will try to seige your town, but you should have 10 gorgons avaible in town and its an easy hold) if you kill red's main hero, then save up, buy units and seige red during week 4. don't build shit, save gold for units Week 4-6: after killing red, get a secondary hero and along with your main, kill off all main resources from your side. Its good to have at least 4 heroes (2 killing things and only picking up gld/artifacts and 2 to follow them around and pick up resources and less important stuff to save time). Build the good units in your second town (tier 5/6/7) and eventually you should run a hybrid faction (hopefully you won't get undead lmao). blue/orange is probs fighting and their troops is not big. Only upgrade gorgons/wyverns/basilisks and don't build hydras (no money). It is unlikely orange/blue would have already over to the left side this early, but even if they do, they would have small troops since their main heroes are fighting eachother Week 7: get your gorgons/wyverns/basilisks +lizard archers + 2 good units from your second town and kill dragon lair, then head straight for orange/blue. week 8: Win game, due to the artifacts from dragon lair. Note: I did waste some time in between as well, in the end i barely lost any troops killing both orange/blue, I had 70gorgons/35 wyvern lords and hundreds of each other stack (since i had two fortress towns left) the margin for error is massive. If I played again and rushed really hard, I recon i can do this within 6 weeks, or even 5 weeks if I get lucky with a couple of units joining me early game. If any of you guys ever played the campaign of Heros 6 on hardest difficulty (Ai gets 1week free troops dropped on to them out of thin air for single every town they control on top of the week's worth that they can hire, the mechanic is broken and 90% struggle on the campaign, it is much harder than any standard stuff I've tried on heros 3 so far
If you in the previous video would've invested in the mana vortex building, and thus having Bron with the double amount of mana points, then at 12:10 you could've used the combination of armageddon + black dragons to fight Josephine.
The only mistake I feel that heroes 3 made was allowing factions to get any other faction warriors. I mean I just don’t see undead fighting with angels or angels with demons
You consistently performed poorer than the auto-battle results. Investing all your resources in Gorgons, only to have them sit back on the battlefield in every battle without doing anything (blinded, or behind an obstacle, etc.) probably wasn't a great strategy.
He mentions several times that the 'auto-battle' doesn't account for spellcasting, which is kinda huge... especially when the AI blinds your beefiest guys ^^
@@Progeusz I think autobattle for non-hero fights make the game a lot more enjoyable. Spending a minute on killing some weak wandering creature when autoresolve can just fix it for you makes the game a lot better. The game does have the "units are afraid of you" thing but then you miss out on exp, and stuff like creature banks dont have that

Looks like HoMM3 is back on the menu boys!
The fact that the Visions shrine is right next to that gatehouse is really rubbing it in
I think if there are 250-499 creatures in a stack, it’s called Swarm, 500-999 is Zounds, and anything bigger is Legion

Awesome playthrough, fortress was my fav back when I played the game. Hoping there's an Inferno playthrough somewhere in the future.
