I would imaine its Not so kuch worried about the neighbors as the cops...
If the cops happen to be in the area - or even if that one busy body neighbor calls the cops amd they show up, they can't do anything if they don't see you actually driving or whatever...
Also, speaking from experience, d you're driving around, loud and dangerous for a minute or so, most neighbors don't care... it's when you do it over and over and over and over for a long period of time that starts to get on their / our nerves.

How many of y'all remember the old Mayco paint shops? $500 bucks to paint your entire car in one day lol.
I had that done many years back. The job was actually great at the time. Only cause, I sanded down my ride myself. Maco just did the paint work. Came out straight and lasted for years. Right to the point where I sold my ride. ✌️
There’s a local family owned body shop here in Riverside California called Economy Paint, they will still paint a car starting at $500-$600. Not their best work but it’s decent and better than rattle cans lol.

I had my charger painted by Earl Sheib in the winter of 1987. back then it was $99.95. It was winter in the northeast and they were running a special. got the car painted for 50 bucks! Hemi Orange! I was so happy!

Nice clear coat and a cut and buff and it’s a mirror finish.
Would wetsanding and polishing before clear be better? Or is that just a waste of time

@@acatnamedmike8353the clear coat will fill in any imperfections, clear coat is what gives a cars pint job the even reflection and contour, 3 coats of clear and a good polish will makes any full coverage paint job look good
I had a Datsun 240z that i just finished restoring and I had a mural painted on the hood. I took it to a party and chick I had a crush on sat on the fender and laid back on the hood and it caved in. It took everything I had to hold back from loosing it and she was apologizing like crazy and everyone who seen it was like holy f**k. I popped the hood and hit it with my hand from the back side and it popped right out and you could not even tell it happened but she avoided me for the rest of the night. Years later I think the car saved me for the right woman and her and I wound up rolling it but she still married me and we have been together for more than 35 years now. I sure miss that car though.

Hi Casey. You're not a fan of the car, but I am. I think you can still get a ton of content with it, because who cares what happens to it really, know what I mean? FFirst off, you need to find somewhere appropriate to really drift the thing. Learn to do donuts and figure 8's at a minimum. I would do something done with baffles in the gas tank so the engine doesn't get starved for gas when you are going sideways, I think that still needs to be done. After you are all done drifting it, etc, you can do some drag racing, or some other type of racing with it (for example, do the enduro type racing of a dumpy car thing that you were going to do with PoleYard garage, surely that's an annual event), and finally, when you are all done with it, you can just set it ablaze / blow it up / take some sledge hammers to it and totally destroy the thing! Have fun! 🙂

Throw a couple more coats then wet sand and throw some gloss clear on it the wet sand and buff and it wouldn’t be a half bad cheap paint job. How long it’ll last is another question entirely.
I was going to say. If it was the car in the thumbnail, I wouldn't paint it with this but the crappy one that you have , no problem. Looks better then it did. Good job.
800 grit sanding and shoot eastwood clear 3 coats it will look great
Your dad's side is better because hs was going in the one direction for most of his spraying. You were going lengthwise, up and down and across.

@CaseysCustoms just 4 bolts inside the column 2 are easy to access the 2 lower ones are a b! Lock tite the top 2 and you'll be fine lol

Anybody says you can't spray paint a car and get a decent finish is full of crap I painted a 1939 Ford pickup truck hot rod 8 years ago with Rust-Oleum black spray paint keep in mind it never has been in the garage it only sits outside in the hot California Desert Sun and still looks damn good

Now that you have a solid black base coat, it would be really cool to see you hit it with a cheap clear coat with pearl in it like the TH-camr GT’s Performance does with his rustoleum/eye candy pigments series. For $69 in a gallon of cheap eBay clear, and $25 for some eye candy pigments on Amazon. I’d really love for you to show what a turbo can+pearl clear job can look like with minimal effort and budget.
Considering a gallon kit of single stage is $200 these days, I think the rustoleum+clear/pearls for color is the move for painting cheap cars these days. ($60 turbo cans, $69 clear, $25 pearl = $154) and I guarantee it’ll look cooler than a solid single stage
