Mammoth is awesome! Like you said, easy stuff for beginners as well as double black diamond trails for experts. Been there half a dozen times and it never disappoints!
Thanks for the video. FYI: E-Bikes are permitted on the mountain, and some trails are one way (Uptown and Downtown). For good food try the Warming Hut - outstanding! If you want to rent a bike for the day go to Footloose Sports. Mammoth has been our summer destination for over 25 years. Enjoy and don’t feed the bears!
Back in the 90s it was the Mammoth, Yeti, onZa, RockShox & Kamakazi Extravaganza. I'm so glad Mammoth has expanded their passion for mountain biking with all new trails and fun for beginners to pro class riders to this day. Incredibly the one the forgotten names in early Kamakazi Down Hill champions is Joe Sloop, who rode for team Raliegh. Joe was the first to wear black socks every time he won any downhill championship event back in the late 80s and early 90s. Finally, in the mid-90s someone beat Joe Sloop and this new champion gave credit to the fact that he wore black socks just like Joe. Joe was so pissed off that he copied his tradition of wearing black socks...! True story.
Great review and I totally agree. Mammoth is so much fun not only for the great trails but everything in town and all of the nature stuff. One of the coolest things is being able to go from the summit and ride trails all the way back into town, then jump back on the bus and have it take you back to the gondola area. Plus eating it into 5 inch deep kitty litter leaves way less damage than hard packed dirt.
Hey! I hear a lot about Mammoth's kitty litter and how unique the riding is. What makes Mammoth's soil so much different than most other mountains is how much of it is made up of pumice. Pumice is neat af because it's about 11 times less dense than granite or sandstone. Pumice sand is easy to manage on a mountain bike and combined with steep gnarly chutes, riding in Mammoth feels like a powder day for bikes!
I love mammoth bike park. I thought your review was really good for sure. I’ve been there a few times and have a lot to explore still. Its been fun watching your reviews!
I just found your channel and subscribed Thank you for your commentary on Ebike access and what’s available for an ebike rider. I love the rowdy stuff but also love adventure riding. I’ll be going there because of your comment on far and away rides.
I don't know if they're talking about the one at Main Lodge or the one from the top of the mountain. The one from the top has been in progress for 2 or 3 years now.
I was here six years ago, and was just here last week. Even though your video is only two years old pricing is way off. The rental price for a bike and Discovery Zone ticket was almost 300. Whopping 70 for the ticket and 160 for the bike, I love it it’s just very expensive
Wellll, we got there when we could! We were supposed to go early summer but they had a crazy late season snow fall which screwed our plans all up so we had to visit here last. But, hey, now you have plenty of time to plan! haha
AFAIK, they are allowed at the mountain and on the paved town trails. They are not permitted on Mammoth Rock Trail, Panorama Dome, Mountain View, Horseshoe Lake or any other dirt trail in the area. See this: trailnews.mammothtrails.org/blog/e-bike-information-handout-important-update/
Is this the last video in the summer series? All have been great videos and deserve much more views. Any plans on visiting Silver Mountain in Idaho? Looks like it could be a cool visit, but not many videos of the park.
Hey what's up man. We have just ONE MORE LEFT! We're actually quite sad about it we just filmed the last wrap up discussion post-park and realized we were done...Summer's over. What a bummer. haha. Thank you for watching and we appreciate the support. We've put a lot of effort into this series and hope the views keep coming in. Any share helps us grow and we appreciate you helping out. Mt Bachelor is next, and last! We love Silver Mountain and think it's very underrated. If all goes well we hope to get there next year for season 2, if we get enough support! So, spread the word and help us get some views and silver mountain will be on our list! haha. Thanks!👍
Tough Call, if your going for a few days it could be worth it. The bike park is a lot of fun, but we would recommend checking to make sure all the trails are open.
I was there all weekend. My favorite place on Earth.

Right on. Applied to be mtb instructor there this year, hope i get it!

I went for the first time like 5 years ago and now I’m so addicted that I’m going to get my own bike to bring every summer!

More bike park reviews please. These are great!

Until you find the gravel… get me every time I go

Thanks very much for letting us know! We look forward to more reviews.
they put a test dummy on the zipline and it smacked a tree. so they canceled it now its just a random building

Thank you very much and welcome! Have fun at mammoth!
Lol just watching all of this because I am new to Biking and still learning biking with help of cousins and possibly a nearby neighbor I’m excited!!
Lol... LMFAO.. 🤣🤣🤣 the zip line looks like it’s days away. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wow thanks for the update!
I’m going there in 3 weeks sooo stoked
Zach Martinez so I am assuming you are there rn
Great review! Sounds like a destination worthy place. Hope you guys get to the northeast next year. (Killington, Mountain Creek, Highland etc.)
We're certainly hoping we can get out there too! So much cool stuff to ride.
So hows next summer working out for you guys?
Epic fishing around there too. I lived there in 92-93 and would ride down the Kamikaze on my hardtail with skateboard pads. LOL
Very cool!
Awesome review guys.
Thank you very much.
Mammoth was fantastic last year, just need to remember to bring my goggles
July 4, 2023 - It's mostly all covered with snow!
The timing for this video is great you only have to wait 7 MONTHS before they open

7 months later this comment did NOT age well
@@garrettimfeld5773 nope
Garrett Imfeld yea fr
@@garrettimfeld5773 It's actually open now lol
Ebikes are good inside the park, but how about outside the park? I understand they may not be legal, but are they at least tolerated?
AFAIK, they are allowed at the mountain and on the paved town trails. They are not permitted on Mammoth Rock Trail, Panorama Dome, Mountain View, Horseshoe Lake or any other dirt trail in the area. See this: trailnews.mammothtrails.org/blog/e-bike-information-handout-important-update/

Zip line still isn’t up and running
Worth the drive from oregon?
Tough Call, if your going for a few days it could be worth it. The bike park is a lot of fun, but we would recommend checking to make sure all the trails are open.
Could they move it a few more hours away from LA? Icky!
Way better location than the big bear park..
Is bringing a hardtail a bad idea?
No but it would be very difficult
Of course not! I took a hardtail last year, and I had a great time!
Mammoth was a bike park before full suspension was a thing. You can definitely have a great time on a hardtail.
Go ride Windrock Bike Park, Oliver Springs, TN
Thanks guys, very informative. Andrew, as the "jump guy", do you ever find yourself missing the 26 or 27.5" wheels?
27.5 would probably be better for jumps than the 29s
That zip line never opened lol
Oh God the stove is the shit!
Jackso hole Wyoming!!
Paid 350 for 4 hr rental 3 ppl. Just FYI, it’s not cheap like these guys tell you unless you bring your own bike
This is the first time I noticed that their names were andrew and drew. 🤣
That's why we call him Chilidog, too many Andrews and Drews around!
@@TheLoamWolf nice!
