I Brought My Mountain Bike to the Off Road Games-But Why?

- I was invited to the Off-Road Games hosted by @MattsOffRoadRecovery. Off-road TH-cam Creators were paired with non-off-road creators and given a rock-crawling course to complete in Southern Utah.
I was paired with @Rudysadventureanddesignreal to pilot his rig, "The Rudicon." We decided to literally strap my bike to the roof of the Rudicon and use it as a bike shuttle to the top of the trail because it only made sense to ride back down!

Using the 360 camera on the dash and keeping it level for perspective was such a good choice.
giving us the view he would of had was amazing. gave me so much anxiety for him
I feel like its the first time I've seen an action camera give a good perspective of the steepness.
One more vote of approval for the leveling feature to show the steepness! It was perfect.
Wasn't feeling it until 9:00. Before then, we were just looking at the hood. Really made me want to see an outside shot to match up with the "tires against the wall" instructions.

I met Sean later on at the event, and at the time I had no idea it was him 😅. I was kind of head down focused on the task, and there were a lot of camera people around. Talk about a photo bomb!

@@SethsBikeHacksI couldn’t believe it when Sean got in the Jeep. I ride motorcycles and not so much bicycles anymore but I’ve been subscribes since you were in Miami. Recently I started riding motorcycles and Sean is one of my favorite bike channels. I know his best friend Craig participated in the games too

The directive choices you made on this video regarding camera angles to show scale and angle(the dash mounted 360 cam), as well as visually tracing landmarks Rudy is directing you to was brilliant. Offroad youtubers should take note.
We were already in Hurricane UT on our trip, and my wife asked if we could stay longer and go to the games to watch her favorite TH-camr, Seth. So we did and got to spend a little time with you, and supporting you and Rudy. Big respect for you and the humility you showed each of your fans during this three day event. Class act dood. All the best from your over 60 fans....
He completely dominates the genre, and considering his fame and success, Seth has to be the most humble TH-camr I follow. He figured out early on that *relatability* is a key factor, and he's remained grounded the entire time. Even when he shows off his fancy bikes, like his Rail29 or custom titanium hardtail (nicest bike I've ever seen) he does it with so much grace and humility.
Can't WAIT to see how well Matt drives a bike. That dude is amazing, been following his channel for years as well, and he does a ton for the disabled community too.

After all these years, Seth continues to come up with entertaining and fun content. He's a true creator, you can tell he loves it and that's why he completely dominates the genre!!
I love the way you filmed the driving from the interior of the car. I've never seen that style used in a 4x4 setting, and it's the only time I've felt like the camera captured what it feels like to be in that seat.
You should really be proud of your driving in this event. I know people that have been 4x4ing for 20 years that couldn't / wouldn't have done those tracks. To do it with so little experience is incredible.
I totally get what he was saying about Rudy watching over him. When you've got a veteran giving you the thumbs up, that's a HUGE confidence boost.
Yeah, normally the camera doesn't do the angles justice, but I think it did this time! Some of those looked well over 45° 🤣

Honestly this is so great! Living near Moab we have tons of trails that are being shut and all the outdoor activities groups are not unifying even though the closures effect mtb, dirt bikes, and 4x4. We need to realize that all of these pursuits are one in the same and we all should fight to protect them!

I'm so used to riding around rock crawlers in Moab or stopping on the side to watch people drive insane ledges. We love cheering and applauding the drivers and spotters. Thanks for bringing the two worlds together.

Coming from the Off Road community and owning two very capable Jeeps, I can attest that you were a champ out there, Seth. Those trails are not easy and most people would crack under the pressure. Great job! That rig was amazing too. I'm glad you got a taste of the feels. It's those moments that make nerves of steel. Mountain bikes and Jeeps...money can't buy happiness....but have you ever seen someone sad on a bike or in a Jeep? Nope, me neither. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a huge offroad TH-cam watcher, I watch pretty much all of the offroad TH-camrs that were there. I also haven't road a mountain bike in about 20 years. All of that being said, I discovered your channel about a year ago and love watching your videos! I was super excited to find out you were going to be at the games and interested to see how you were going to do a video on it. Needless to say, you didn't disappoint!
As a humongous fan of Matt's offroad, Rudy's channel, AND Berm Peak, I will say this is the dreamiest video of all time!!
You and Rudy are a heckuva team.
Hopefully, we'll see more collaborations between you and other automotive channels. It just seemed like you really enjoyed being behind the wheel and were in the moment.

This really was your most stressful video! Off roading honestly is really impressive! My wife and I got to do something similar to your example but in Sedona, AZ and I was stressed. My wife thought it was the best thing ever. She grew up off roading so makes sense!

I love your MTB content, and this was awesome! I have a Suzuki Sidekick with Toyota solid axles and 35's, lockers, 5.71's, 4.2:1 transfer case, and an exo-cage. We ran the Rubicon 3 times, Southwest Crawlfest, High Desert Roundup, all the trails in SoCal, etc...

Excellent job Seth! You just combined 2 of my favorite hobbies into 1 video. On one hand ive got 20 years of offroading experience, and only 4 years of mtbing time. And was looking for more mtbing time on this videa, lol. As Ive watched most of those lines multiple time on various other channels.
