    This was excellent! Very well explained and demonstrated. I like the way this fountain pen helps you achieve those lines. Thank you, Teoh!

    Great subject Teoh! I'm struggling with this kind of photo reference lots of times, never knew each subject could have different vanishing points 😂

    if there are different vanishing points, how does all these points correlate with the horizon line?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Almost all vanishing points are on the horizontal line. Exceptions are staircases, steps, upslope, downslope.
      Each building will have its own vanishing point. Buildings that share the same VP are on the same straight street, facing directly or side by side parallel.
      You can arrange some boxes, block-ish objects on your tablet to see for yourself. Then rotate some and check the VP again.

    When your on location do you take your iPad and take picture and use procreate to help you draw? If you don’t…why not?

      I prefer to use sketchbook and watercolour on location because it's more fun. iPad display outdoors is affected by reflections and brightness isn't high enough to show good contrast even when working under shade. And when brightness is up 100%, battery drains faster so battery life is maybe 5-6 hours instead of usual 10 hours indoors

    As a newbie, would it be easier to use a view finder to get my angles?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Viewfinder is more useful for composition. For finding angles, just measure when your pen when arm is stretched out. See this video th-cam.com/video/hBDZKoWLB9A/w-d-xo.html

    Fabulous bit of electronic gadgetery you have which would be excellent for art. But most people do art to get away from the modern fast paced world we live in. And yet i find myself using the camera to take pickies for things to possibly create!.

    Looks like on photo are two different horizon line. One for building on first plan and second for building on distance.
    Is this possible?

    • @nicetrayyy
      @nicetrayyy 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No. The only horizon line is the one where both the horizon line and the perspective line are the same. The building on the distance has the same horizon line as the others, just very far away. Hope it helps :)

    Where is the horizontal line in this drawing?

      Top of the white van.

    Hi Teoh I think you are awesome and really love your art and your channel. But….don’t you think it kills a drawing to be so methodical in plotting perspective?
    It’s kind of like coloring between the lines. Isn’t it easier to draw the roof tops first as a continuous line silhouette across the page then draw the verticals? Followed similarly by the ground plan and background silhouettes. Not as accurate but good enough I reckon for urban sketching.
    I’d love to hear your thoughts or do a video on this technique if you haven’t already.

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      There are different ways to draw, or where to start drawing. You can start anywhere. You can choose to use perspective knowledge or just draw from solely observation. I use both.

    Never draw like this, im seriously.. Find more competent lessons so you could develop your technique. Even if it will be fleeting sketches in a sketchbook on the way from home. As a short guide to the theory, maybe not bad, but there are plenty of such videos on the Internet, just for why? Everyone already knows these simple things, and many the subtleties were not mentioned.. Spoil your technique, and you will not be able to grow your skill in the future.. No offense, Teoh. I love and adore your reviews and your unique draw style, man. But, Make a better, review of the new model *XP-PEN ARTIST PRO 16 X3 2021.* There is no such a anywhere else, such a better and more competent tech blogger than you, from all tech reviews in all internet. And that's clearly TRUE.
