Very good review and you're one of the few who appreciates the HIGH-END ips display. Finally a good display after YEARS and YEARS for us PWM sufferers.
I also thought this (well actually the Redmi K50) would be a great midrange despite it's LCD. Though I do prefer AMOLED because I have multiple devices to compare. I think mostly it's because these companies use cheap LCD panels. Infinix note 10, Infinix note 11 pro, infinix zero x pro, Redmi note 10 pro are just a few of the devices we have at home. And I can say the AMOLEDs look *much* better. No "shadowing" on the edges/under the notch + getting very bright under sunlight. Bottom line, cheap LCD panels are horrible. I'd like to hold one of these Poco X4s so I can see if it's High-end IPS is actually good. But that last part...is interesting. I'm interested in knowing what you guys mean by PWM (pulse width modulation, I assume) hurting your eyes. There's like 2 comments saying so under this video, including yours.
This phone gets a lot of hate for the screen. I'd like to remind people of the price considering the current chip shortages and the general price increases you'll see with other brands. This phone reminds me of the quality that the F1 provided.
@@-acidArmor there are pros and cons to both screen types. You have found the one that works for you. I have also seen big differences in amoled and lcd screens. There is the good, the bad, and the ugly. Not all screens are made equally.
I think it comes down to having options, which Poco currently has plenty of. This does have LCD, but it also has a bigger battery than the others, and a headphone jack that the others lack.
@@artdogg50 that's it. There are some real "Fan favourite" aspects to poco phones like the ones you mentioned. With mid range phones there has to be compromises. It's about finding the ones you can live with. Personally, I don't need the best cameras as all my photos go onto social media with a filter. However, I do appreciate a headphone jack and fast charging.
I've seen many people talking about the dimensity 8100 performance being disappointing in this model in comparison to phones like the Gt Neo 3 and I was worried (since I already bought the phone), but then that's the first review I saw that mentions the performance mode, and the results really are better with it.
Yeah bro, finally figured it out too, and there are a couple things with the CPU in this phone. It seems on Antutu that it's the same chip as K50 and GT Neo 3 with the same power and that's perfect, because I thought maybe Poco limited the performance on purpose, in favor of the price range of the phone (but I hope it's not happening ). The sad thing here and what I had seen in many tests is that the cooling system is much worse on the X4 GT, the ultimate test is Genshin Impact because it makes the CPU and GPU work extremely hard and overheat the phone faster, and it is clearly less powerful than the other 2 devices in this game, because although they run at the same temperature the other phones have 55 fps Avg and the X4 GT has only 43. It reassures me a bit that in the other games it does perfect, but sadly the characteristic of giving power without getting too hot will not be up to par in this device like the more expensive ones.
@@jairhernandez4623 the power usage of this chipset on k50 is ~6w but x4 gt is only provided somewhere around 4w. That's why it's x4 gt is a bit more power efficient and heats a bit less than the k50. K50 doesn't overheat or anything because it has a better cooling chamber considering the high pricing. X4 gt has a decent cooling chamber considering it's price. That's why you'll see that much of a difference even when these phones have the same chipset. X4 gt is still a superb phone imo.

I noticed that in Infinix phones when we drop the screen fps to 60hz it's touch sampling rate also decrease but game is more smoother then 90hz to 60hz in (Two player games). Please try and comment on it.
I dream of the day X and F series will merge and create this mega monster phone with IPS 144Hz IPS display with north 300 touch sampling rate, very slim bezels, and F series punch hole selfie camera, Mediatek 8200 or Snapdragon 8 plus gen 1 with Poco's mint cooling system.
Ah the K50 is on another level of recommendation. Overall it is a better phone than the X4 GT. Can't recommend the X4 GT over the K50, that just doesn't work.
Unfortunately the power consumption of the chipset has 4 watts limit which makes d8100 to perform 30% below it's maximum capacity and the cooling also is not good enough so it can't handle this chip even at 4w. This same chipset in Redmi k50 performs 30% better and has around 7w power limit and the phone can handle the chipset perfectly
Yes bro, sadly. I would've liked only 2 or 1 camera, 120 hz display and maybe a shorter Quick Charge.. But with a good cooling system or glass body, better ways for dissipate heat, that's why K50 and GT Neo 3 can ride out all the power of this chip and not even sweat.

9:25 if you test Redmi k50 / realme gt neo 3 with Dimensity 8100 soc you could get 50+ fps in genshin impact.poco x4 gt is not optimized well for genshin impact.
Not really, manufacturer just simply cut the performance of D8100 to prevent too much heat because this phone has poor thermal management but it has very good efficiency in return.
@TechNick for the Mtk Im thinking of getting either the Poco X4 GT or Redmi K50 Pro. Over the Mediatek 8100 and Mediatek 9000 for gaming performance would you say the 9000 overrides the 8100 or would they be the same in similarity, please let me know. The thing is that Dim. 8100 is THE BEST chipset for Genshin Impact, but not on this phone. Redmi K50 (CN) performs unbelievable better, due to higher power input, but not that big for fast battery drain. It was very good and OPTIMAL, here there is surely too little power input that this SoC can't spread his wings to the highest level.
You can force close joyose apps to remove the software cap (poco put) on dm8100 for genshin impact and other games they havev on that software list to prioritize thermal vs performance. It can reach 60fps after but you wanna see tho if the phone can keep a better thermal performance after removing it overall with joyose ive played genshin @37-39C° only might expect it to go 40-41°C in front of fan with that software remove

Pretty strange cus I've used my Redmi note 10 pro for a year+ and my eyes are fine. Is it perhaps a medical condition?
