He’s don’t bring me luck he’s is a blessing for me 😉. We complete each other when we going fishing. He don’t need me to catch fish I don’t need him to catch fish but we love spending time together 👍🏼
I don’t wish to know where you are fishing Robbie, but I wonder how much change you have seen in that particular river over time relating to carp infestation. The river is so clear and clean it seems there would be very few carp in there. It is so good to see the numbers of cod and other natives in our waters again.
Thanks Mark. I am happy to say that I am in the Ovens River. There are carp here for sure. In fact, in my next video I return to this spot fishing with bait and sink my underwater camera. A few carp swim past it among other things. I think the clear water is more attributed to the rocky bottom. Carp can't stir up the mud if the mud isn't there. I have been fishing here for almost 50 years. All of my life in other words. As a kid it was infested with carp and redfin, but heavy stocking of native fish back in the early 1990's saw an increase in yellowbelly which thinned the redfin out and paved the way for the Murray cod to come back naturally. Then in the late 90's trout cod were re-introduced to the river having been extinct for decades. Now we have a lot of native fish in the river and pretty much no redfin apart from a couple of isolated pockets. There certainly are carp in the river, but they're not in plague proportions like they use to be, or are in other waterways. They are well balanced now.
Walking home oh dear That was a nice cod nice clear water About 10 years ago met a fellow at picnic point he refused to buy lures that were in the higher bracket cheap lures will always do the job 😂😂😂😂 Bless yah mate
Your so lucky mate, wish we had cod fishing here in wa. I miss it so much. Was in Vic November and seen pearl jam then too Narooma, then to jindabyne. What a beautiful place. Stopped in Wangaratta for a bit and me eyes were looking for ya face. Anyway thank you kindly for your stream's I don't miss 1. And yes, pearl jam was excellent.
How good are they biting mate! It’s always good to watch when the fish are on the bite. One thing Robbie, don’t take Sonny Gold Prospecting, every man and his dog within a ten kilometre radius would know you’re on the Gold!
Word up Homie! Sonny was on fire! Neptune tackle for the win.Nice fish at the end, the bigger fish have been quite elusive for me this year.I read Sonny is from Switzerland but his accent sounds French, has he spent a lot of time in France?
Hey Robbie I left a comment on Juz's channel and I asked him if he could hook up with you and he was keen to do so. So if you don't hear from him reach out. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love it. Cheers from Chiltern mate.
Hey Robbie, see how you and Sonny are both using those clips. Im sure you know this but just on the off chance that you dont if you take your split ring off the front of the lure while using those clips it doesnt decrease the lures action like clips normally do.
Great vid once again Robbie :) Btw I'm trying to get my first native fish in my life but it's kinda hard to look for locations when it comes to the Goulburn and other main fresh water systems in Vic,it's hard to find spots since we don't have any boat so we just do land based fishing,do you recommend any tips for starters that wanna catch natives?
G'day mate, if you look at the VFA (fisheries) website you can search for stocked waterways and find out which waterways have been stocked and which species they've been stocked with. 👍
That is a great catch Robbie. That bright green Old Mate Lure you ended up using, is that the 15' or is it the 25'? I'm guessing its the 15' Green Tree Frog Old Mate Lure.
It depends on a number of things such as temperature, oxygen levels etc... It's a but like asking us if we like hot weather or cold weather. Personally I like winter, many people probably prefer summer.
My legs are still sore since I walked back home from the river… 🤣
Hahahaha 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Pete. He sounds like a smart fella. haha As Sonny has proven here, the cheaper lures certainly work, even if they look a bit cross eyed. haha

Hey Robbie I have a question I’m thinking off starting my own fishing yt channel soon any tips
Hi mate, my number one tip is to always just be yourself.
Do cod like low water, high water or in the middle
It depends on a number of things such as temperature, oxygen levels etc... It's a but like asking us if we like hot weather or cold weather. Personally I like winter, many people probably prefer summer.
Hi
Hi mate.
