Great Video Robbie 👍 Merry Christmas 🎄. I went Fishing over the past 2 days and I caught 6 Golden Perch, 3 Murray Cod, 1 Silver Perch and 5 Carp. In Total I caught 15 Fish over 2 Days 🎣
We’ve had the 1/64 jig heads for well over 30 years at home. Deadly for crappie and trout. Not a good idea drinking the water from the creeks. It’s the pathogens you need to worry about.
Hi Robbie, merry Christmas to you and your family. Loved the underwater footage of your soft plastic towards the end of the vid. No wonder the trout have multiple strikes , such a natural presentation.
G'day Robbie, Drinking that clear mountain stream water keeps you from putting on the extra KGs. I've put on way too many since I moved away and can't get up into those hills.
As you navigated the stream I saw an old fallen log laying parallel to the stream. The log looked to be 40-60cm in diameter. It amazed me that a log that diameter was so straight and void of any sign of branches. Must have been a very tall tree before it came down. Here craft persons are recovering logs like that to mill in home based saw mills used for hobby/crafting purposes. Just an observation that did not take away from the splendor of that stream and environment surrounding it. I would count the encounter as a Christmas blessing.
Thanks so much mate. We have these beautiful big trees here called Mountain Ash. They're either the tallest flowering tree in the world, or the tallest flowering tree in Australia. I can't remember which one. LOL I'm any case they're huge trees, very tall and very straight. They were logged extensively for many years, but logging them was banned a few years back because we need to stop and preserve what Forrest's we have left.
Great tip saying pull over if your on the brakes going down hill they crack once hitting cold water. Another tip in a auto low rang and 1st gear walks down it. Great to see you getting on some trout done well buddy
Also a good idea to let diffs, gearboxes etc cool down if you don't have breathers fitted as they can draw water past the seals if they're hot and suddenly cooled down.
Well done mate merry Christmas and your one of my favourite youtubers and you are such a amazing and inspiring person keep up the good work mate we should go fishing together one day maybe i am going down to Wangaratta in 2 years
i really liked this video. when i do this with family they get bored. seems their photography/love of fishing is just not true. So i get to drive and only drive to satisfy their preference. i need a better family 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely it does, but on the steep hills you still need to ride your breaks unless you're using hill descent, in which case the computer in the car still applies the breakers.
Hey Robbie when was the last time you fished with the camo man I think you fished with him not too long ago because I saw a video from another guy that was with you and he released a video with you and sandy about 2 months ago and that guy’s channel is Andrew’s outdoors
Best trout fishing I've seen you film this season.
Thanks mate. It was my best session this season. It's been a tough season. 👍👍
Hats off to you Robbie for getting to and wading in those treacherous creeks. That is some hard yakka.
Thanks mate. It sure is much harder than I used to be. I just go very slow and steady these days.

Thanks Bruce. Merry Christmas to you and your family too. That's why I love fishing with soft plastics, they're just so natural.
G’day Robbie. Those are some pretty isolated creeks mate. You are in some rugged bush. Great video mate.
Thanks mate. I absolutely love my time in the high country.

Thanks mate. I know the weight struggle very well. I'm hoping to lose some weight in 2025. I hope you can too, it's so bloody hard.

Hahahaha that's so funny. 😂😂😂 Thanks mate.
merry christmas
Thanks mate. Merry Christmas to you too. 👍👍
I drink straight from the creek also but only the smaller feeder streams, got really crook once drinking from a bigger river.
That sucks mate. Probably a good idea to stick to the smaller streams.
Wating for the mail bag video to see wot you think of your crismas gift Graham
Thanks Graham. I absolutely LOVE it. I am going to publish my Mailtime video tomorrow afternoon or evening.
We just bought a place with a tiny stream that holds trout strick tiger micro will be ordered
That's so awesome, I'm jealous. Haha 😂😂
Merry Christmas Robbie & family, any chance of explaining to viewers, who may not know, how to tell the difference between a male & female trout.👍
Thanks mate Merry Christmas to you too. Thanks for the great suggestion. I will do my best to remember.
Hey Robbie when you show the videos of you in the Ute you might of forgotten to blur your number plate
Hi mate, that's all good. I'm not too fussed. A lot of people see it every day anyway. I can't blur it out when I'm parked at Woolies. LOL 🤣 👍👍
@ yeah haha so true tho also I think I might of seen you at lake Nillahcootie at some point with my dad and his mate
Nice ranger
Thanks mate. 👍👍
What line weight would you recommend for 1/64 jighead mate?
Hi mate, I use 4lb mono. Maxima Ultragreen is pretty much all I ever use for this type of fishing.
Hey is there any good fishing spots near the wodonga area
Hi mate, Lake Hume is a favourite of mine.
Select a lower gear for going down steep incline save your breaks over heating and causing reak fade
Absolutely it does, but on the steep hills you still need to ride your breaks unless you're using hill descent, in which case the computer in the car still applies the breakers.
know any good yabby dams around ballarat? I dont keep any yabbys i just like catching them by hand with a string
Also nice video robbie
Thanks mate. I don't know any down there sorry. 🙏
