If ANYBODY wants to learn magic, on whatever level, don't watch Jay's videos = STUDY THEM! !! !!! Most tubers perform the trick tell you how it's done and that's it. Jay, on the other hand, explains WHY the trick works and the psyche behind it. I would like to read peoples minds. That way, you would be able to gauge how well you are performing the trick. Every time, you can pick up on a tell and make it better next time. GREAT job Jay & Chris.

I would read people's mind, because a persons thoughts are something they can control and can change at will. Thus making the trick so much more powerful.
Hey Jay, thank you so much for this gem. This is easily now one of my favorite card tricks to perform and is currently my opener when doing card magic. It has eveything a great trick needs. It grabs peoples attention it lures them in, and has a killer and bulletproof double reveal.
This is another great one. I got caught the first time I tried it. But after a few dozen hours. Of practice did it again for the same group. But I had a friend help. And she put a card in her pocket book. And it rocked

As for the question, if I could have one of those super powers, I would pick making things appear/disappear, because I feel like that would be a stronger miracle, harder for laypeople to write off as fake and give an explanation for, and it would be more useful in day-to-day life.
Jay, Brilliant trick, but more so is the psychology behind your every move. You would have prospered as a Wizard, Sorcerer, Magician, etc in any era, ancient times nonwithstanding. Keep the great stuff coming. You are a true MASTER MAGICIAN/LEGEND
Instead of asking him to name his card, what if you picked a random card out of the deck and put it in your pocket and then told *him* to guess the card or just to tell you what he wants it to be. Let them in on a "secret" of this is how magicians always get it right -- they can "make" any card anything they want it to be like so. Then tap the pocket to "change" it to the named card or compliment him on the guess, and then say, "but first, let me show you how other magicians do this trick," and then do the half. After the palm, reach in, pull the "original" card out, and say, "but you asked for the so and so, and here ye be." No worries about someone complaining about you not reading their mind. Thoughts?

This is a brilliant trick and so well explained! I was practising this afterwards & I was searching through the deck briefly and one random card was facing the other way… it was the card that Chris the cameraman thought of, the Jack of Diamonds!!! WTH!?!
Probably I'd prefer to have the power to read minds. I guess there's not a bigger impact in people than getting to know something that's so intimate than your own thoughts. BTW, loved the first background selection, Jay!
I would rather be able to read minds. Vanishing and appearing is very common in magic. Reading minds deeply disturbs when it is correct, because, naturally, humans do not fancy the thought of someone being able to see what you are thinking and your deepest secrets. Keep up the great tutorials and products:)
Vanish and appear! Even though I love mind reading more! To be able to vanish and appear without any suspicion Is a killer, Than with Mind reading is already seen as fair- Other than a vanish where people will wanna “burn you” Not sure if that made any sense 🙃 But hey, I tried 😅 Really really love this one, jay!!
If you start with a joker for the first card, you will come away clean revealing their thought card and will have 52 in the deck rather than one still in pocket. Just an idea. Love your vids
I think that mind reading is a lot more powerful because when you make things vanish, people know there is a logical explanation whereas mind reading is a lot more abstract and intangible
NICE! Another chance at a mentalism trick! I would definitely go with *being able to read minds* , BUT, with one caveat.. the ability to turn it off. I don't necessarily need/want to know what someone is thinking 24/7. I feel like that would be a curse rather than a gift. Haha Otherwise, how awesome would it be to walk up to someone and say, "Hey, how you doin?" "Oh, nevermind.. I already know."?! Haha! True mind reading would open the flood gates of thought and feeling drowning the receiver in minutia as opposed to the simple appearance of a nice Pilsner.
If I could have the power to read minds OR have the power to make things vanish and appear, I would choose to read minds. You could make an entire magic show about it. At the beginning of the show pass out a whole bunch of cards to all audience members and let them take one card out and keep it. You tell them the card can sense what your birthday is if you think of it. (you could do rooms or theaters or anything) At the end you simply go through the audience and telling people what their card is and their birthday. you could even just point out audience members with the same cards/birthdays.
I would do mind reading. In my opinion making something vanish is cool and all but that’s a physical object. If you take something mental and you can read minds or guess what they are thinking is cool.
5:55 better than that, if they say "I thought you could read minds", say "yes I can, but the others can't. we'll have to know later if the card I picked really was your card, otherwise you could just lie and say no" ;-)
The power to read minds because mind reading you wouldnt have to do sleight of hand to read their mind. I love doing sleights so id pick mind reading so it would be easy on me. Lol
