You americans have no idea what drinking coffee and having a nice customer service is... in europe, you walk in to your standard bar/caffe, you fuckin shake hands with your waiter and he serves you the usual. You can go there by yourself and fucking talk to the waiter because he knows you better than your aunts do and if he's a good one, he'll even smoke with you. Thats a great customer service, not this bullshit "hey, good day, here's your coffee" and than you exit the builing....

it will still vary from location to location due to the water, servicing of the machine, coffee blend and even the milk use unless they had a central location that got it all in from the same suppliers so all the milk came from 1 farm or group of farms in the same general location and then they sent that milk/water to each store then it would be closer to the same but as the machine is used it will wear and need cleaning and that will be a factor in the taste too.

@@Actually_nobody_everwe call these machines "Super automatics". The thing is the coffee isnt the only thing that affects the coffee. Theres a decent amount of science behind it and every coffee shop has "thier" settings to the machines. When we install them we work with the coffee shops to set everything up to the taste they want. Problem with these gas stations is they dont have a taste. Theyre more "just gimme my machine". So what we should do is set it to manufacturers suggested settings but it wont always workout well. They can have amazing coffee, they just arent in that field. I work on coffee/espresso machines and have worked on Eversys, although they are amazing machines, theyre also in need of preventative maintenance just like all other machines. Gas stations neglect that. Theres another company called Slayer that makes some pretty sick looking machines as well, kinda like the old school cadillacs of the coffee world

I worked at a coffee shop in Boise, Idaho that has a 100% focus on customer service. It's a small family owned business and I can guarantee that no other business can compete with the genuine love that is felt the moment you walk in the door. I knew my customers by name, I made friends with a lot of them, we had regulars that bought the entire staff xmas presents. I knew everyone's life story, drink orders, and royalty numbers. Sometimes I would see a regular customer pull up in the parking lot and I'd have their drink ready by the time they got to the door. The story of how the owner got to where she is is truly a tear jerker. People that helped her out through homelessness and other struggles get free drinks for life. I joined the Army National Guard so I left the coffee shop. I ship out for basic in a few days and the manager is having a company goodbye dinner for me at my favorite restaurant. I love that place so much.

Totally, I am sadden by the fact that the North American market is incentivizing coffee shops and restaurants to produce mediocre food in exchange for “great” customer service. I have worked part time in many different places in the food service industry (in Canada), by far the most successful businesses are the ones sacrificing food quality and upping customer experience at all cost. This is so confusing as an Asian person- in China, Taiwan and Japan, nobody would prefer a server to check on us unprompted or making overly personal small talks over some good food and good drinks! But in NA it’s much preferable, to the point where a coffee shop that essentially makes coffee with an automatic coffee machine out-compete regular coffee shops… it is so confusing and sad.
