1st logics around 2012 had the ionisation lead attached to the spark generator which I was unaware of thinking lock out after ignition was pcb fault. Found this out later on an Ideal training day. Hard lesson

One you'll never forget mate. The nightmare jobs typically turn out to be the biggest learners

Going to replace boiler, I've been told it could be faulty fan, blocked main heat exchanger or the ignition lead, tempted to replace the lead given the small cost but not convinced it's that. Condensate is fine no blockages

You need to confirm that you're getting gas at the boiler

If problem persists after replacement, is it likely to be the gas valve or PCB?

It could be but the first thing to make sure is that you're getting gas and the condensate pipe isn't blocked.
It could also be the spark electrode or flame sensor or the leads.
Can you hear it clicking when trying to fire up before it goes to lockout after resetting it?

@@HouseWarm condensate is fine and the spark electrode and sensor although never replaced, visually look in good condition. I've given them a clean

Replaced ignitor unit, PCB, gas valve and ignition electrode, condensate not blocked, I'm stumped, any ideas?

Are you getting gas at the boiler?
