Started golfing late 2023 w/the guys, purchased a Garmin r10 on black Friday 2024 after seeing your videos. I've been using it outdoors hitting into a net in driveway & taking it to the range (I feel like numbers are pretty spot on, I calibrate & check for updates before every session). So much data I don't know what to do w/it all yet. Getting stats & playing Sim in my driveway is a GAME CHANGER! @Breaking Eighty thank you my brotha, you're the real M.V.P!
Thank you for the video. Very educational. I am struggling with making a choice on my launch monitor. This will be my first one, and I plan to use it both indoors in a very basic garage set up and also out on the range. I also am getting my kids who are 11 and six more into golf. My 11 year-old daughter is also left-handed. I understand that not every launch monitor or software program has Junior tees. Which launch monitor would you recommend given these factors for my family where we want to use it at home for family entertainment and training, but also out on the range for me to improve my game?
Just bought an sc4pro. I just want to be able to practice at home with reliable data, new app looks pretty nice, too. I'll save the $60,000 and just go to my local indoor trackman range on Sundays.
I originally bought a sc200 for $85 a couple years ago to use at the range and on the course. It fit my needs perfectly. Now I am looking for an indoor capable unit to play sim golf. My space dictates that I use a photo unit which is fine with me as they seem to work better and I can putt & chip. I got a Skytrak+ and then a Square. They Square is smaller, lighter, and about 1/3 the price. I couldn’t keep the Skytrak connected so I returned it. The Square I kept is awesome! I can run it on an iPad. My next option would be the Bushnell. The Bushnell is very expensive annually, but probably the most accurate available in the 5K range. I say we need a good review on the Square. The added benefit here is that there are no subscription fees.
Ill be that person who says "wish you would have included", which I know is a difficult task. Garmin R50 really looks like a winner and would have loved to see it added to this matric of devices
Agreed. I’m just curious how they make $$ on it long term. No subscription and now you can use other balls? And they can’t be making much on the hardware. So I’m really interested in the business plan
@ hardware based subscriptions are a niche market thing really... You don't pay subs to use your computer, watch, alarm clock, etc... Square might be the start of the end of LMs themselves requiring subscriptions.
I was just hitting off a Eye XO and was not overly impressed tbh.. I have heard great things about the ProteeVX and it seems to be getting better every week.
Been looking at the mevo+ because it seems to be the best fit. I would use it at a public range or any range I can. The ones I use have the room which is good. My question is, would the Doppler be skewed because of the skeletal metal build of the range?
Honestly....maybe. The only major issues I've ever had with the Mevo+ have been when using in areas with significant metal around you. So I can say for sure if itd be an issue or not. If it were me, I'd buy it and test it out extensively in the first 30 days. If it doesnt work, you can always return.
Would the Mevo+ still be your top pick if the subscription thing wasn’t (as big of) a factor? I don’t love subscriptions but I don’t mind them. I’ve had my MLM2 Pro for a bit over a year and I’ve been considering upgrading. Debating Mevo+ and some of the camera systems. Really have my eye on the R50. Just curious how much the subscription is factoring.
It depends a lot on budget and what your goals are. The reason I love the Mevo plus so much is because it offers so much. Want more metrics than any other launch monitor or under 10k? Got it. Want support for a multi camera setup? Got it. Apple Watch compatibility? Got it. Both pc and mobile access to e6? Yep. The list goes on. There are downsides too. It takes a lot of space, setup can be a little finicky at times, and while I love the usability of the app, it does look a little dated compared to some newer software. But overall I think it’s a big upgrade from thr mlm2pro.
Sean... HTH even on the R50 doesn't cut it for realism for me. The show stopper is ball physics once it is on the ground.. HTM is just WAY simplified. So the R50 is out. I am willing to add a PC or a high end iPad to get the level of realism I am looking for but subscriptions over $400 are a problem as I don't expect to use the sim much when I can be outside on the course. You mentioned 8' behind and 8' in front of the ball for the Mevo+ but their documentation says 13' in front is RECOMMENDED. I take that to mean that is where the data will be the most accurate. I am limitted to 8 & 8 so I am hesitant to include that in my short list. Their doco also says that RCT balls or stickers are required for chipping. In my research everyone I have found recommends at least 10' of flight for accuracy. So with all these limitations it seems like my chances for success with the Mevo+ Fusion are rather slim - any thoughts?
Firstly can I say that you are lucky you can get the LP as international customers like me cannot - our only option is the $7500 GC3 if we want to access this technology which is just too pricey. In terms of the premium I would say that the $600 Linked rangefinder is a big part of this as is the $250 GSPro sub for the first year. From my standpoint this is a much more attractive option than it was previously and one I will be considering in 2025
If trackman was the best, why do I see all the pros use GCquad? Real club and ball info. Not calculated like dollar. But for us common folk it works great.
quad and trackman are about on par. quad is easier/quicker to setup, just throw it down next to your hitting area and you're good to go, Trackman takes a bit more time, needs lining up to ball and target. (just as good but needs a bit of time to setup, which is fine if you don't plan to move around much)
Love the videos. Looking to spend less than $1,000. Going to use mostly at the range and a little indoors. Carry and ball speed are most important but also care about spin. I currently have the original MLM looking for upgrade. Like the idea of data on a screen rather than phone. is SC4 pro just the move or any other suggestion?
With a screen, SC4 Pro is for sure the move. Under 1k I think MLM2PRO is best overall package, but lifetime memberships bumps it over 1000 and there’s no screen.
Square golf review is a must

Super review - most useful of the videos on this subject by far!

How do you like it? Thinking about going this route
Just ordered it. Fingers crossed. It'd be nice to have a simple setup for less than 1k.

Great info and thoughts, thanks
Great video topic, Sean. I need to learn your process of how to create content. You’re doing a great job dude. -Nik Bando
Let’s play Bandon soon?
Man thanks so much! Means a lot!
Love your videos. Looking at the SC 4 pro. Will wait till after the PGA show, hoping for a price reducing offer and software updates.

Need a projector Q&A video please
Do you have a net review? What's the best net for an indoor practice setup and any recommended place to buy one?
Help!!!! 😂😂 I’m looking a buying my first launch monitor set up and really struggling with what to do and what I need.
Looking to use only on driving range to improve practice and work on speed. I’m leaning towards SC4 pro?
I feel like the Square LM really blows up the entire sub-2k LM market.. In its current state it is super accurate.
Agreed. I’m just curious how they make $$ on it long term. No subscription and now you can use other balls? And they can’t be making much on the hardware. So I’m really interested in the business plan

Any plans to review overhead LMs Sean? I would love a head to head of the Eye XO vs the ProteeVX!

Any update or upcoming review of the Bushnell LPI PERSONAL Launch Monitor?

with the recent release of the Foresight GC3S, im left wondering where the $1000 premium over the Bushnell Launch Pro is
