@ That's a male Ringneck Pheasant the females of that species are a mottled brown for the most as they sit on ground nests. There are other Pheasants that have different colorations. All are imported birds from SE asia if this was taken in the USA or Europe.

Pheasants are fearless, I have seen them back down dogs and once I saw a flock of turkeys step aside for a pheasant so he could get to the food, they waited until he was done, let him pass by then they went back to eating. Nice video, thanks.
Depends on what you're talking about. Obviously, no pheasant is going to be afraid of a domesticated cat. However, they'll fly like a jet if they see a Labrador Retriever or a Bobcat.

Yes. When Buster stops eating and looks the pheasant in the eye, that's when they're talking it over. You can tell that the cat knows it has plenty of food, is going to get more food later, and that the pheasant wants some "now." So the cat isn't threatened, and makes the decision to share its food. The pheasant got to keep all of its feathers too!
I could see the bird asking permission, and the cat was totally laid back about it. That was actually a pretty cool conversation caught on video.. Well done.😎👍🏾

Then around 1:00 the bird is like, "If you... I was thinking... You seem to have more than you want there, would you...? Could I just....?" And at 1:15 the cat looks around as if to say, "Do you believe this guy?" Buster seems like a very calm and good-natured cat and a VERY well-fed one!

Then when it hit the aluminium plate with force the cat understood the pheasant was very hungry, and i love how it acted in compassion and kindness walking away relaxing and stretching knowing it had understood the other animal well. In the future these two can become friends. I think dog are more brutish animals and wouldn't so this.

Last year, I had a nightmare about a intelligent pheasant with the voice of my nephew who was trying to escape a chicken coop, fully understanding that we intended to slaughter and eat him. He said to me "They're hurting me, Tío." I freed him, hugging him close and apologizing... Then I woke up crying. I have been vegetarian ever since. No joke.
Aww! I'm sorry the nightmare upset you but I feel the same way as you. I have now gone Vegan except for eggs as I don't have a problem with them because until they are incubated they are still lifeless. This despite the fact my husband is a sheep farmer - can't change him!
I eat unfertilized eggs too. I see no reason not to. Actually, I don't pass judgment on people that do eat meat. I am a Christian after all. But I do pass judgment on myself. And my conscience now forbids me from eating meat and poultry. If you'd asked me 5 years ago if I'd consider being a vegetarian, I'd have laughed in your face and offered you a bite of my hamburger. But those days are over. And I'm just as amazed as anyone.
Looking back, I think that nightmare was one of the best things that could have ever happened to me. I had been struggling for a long time with the moral implications of consuming emotionally intelligent creatures that can form friendships with other creatures in and out of their species, some even risking their lives to defend a dead or dying companion. The more I learned of how Jehovah God created them to care for one another, the more difficult it became for me to consider them food. That dream was just the sort spiritual kick in the pants that I'd been needing all along.

Aww...such a good cat, he even moved over to give some reassurance to the pheasant that he can enjoy the left over. Poor hungry pheasant.
