I love how honest you are :) Lisa Eldridge fans need to calm down. I like how you put her products in both the “best of” and “worst of” categories. It’s always a red flag to me if a makeup content creator loves everything. When I see that I immediately unfollow and take that product off my “want to purchase” list 😂
I have similarly chronically dry lips and with the CG lip stains I found it tricky to apply all over the lips as well-- to make it work, either I fill in my lips heavily, let it sit and then wipe it off to reveal the stain, or I have to apply in VERY even, thin layers (which is hard) without building up in any one spot otherwise they get dark ONLY there. but you are so right in that they LASSSSTTT, it's crazy!
FYI: If you email Lisa Eldridge's customer service, they will help color match you and send you two samples of the skin tint! I just did that in the last quarter of 2024.
This was perfect watching for this rainy Chicago winter day. Up until a few weeks ago I would have said Victoria’s concealer was my favorite product of 2024 but the Dior Foundation Stick was a late contender and swept it for me.
Hi, Tom!!! The new Viseart Sireneuse Etendu palette has been a great surprise at the end of this year, but when I want more colorful looks, the Poison Garden is great, as well as the Lethal Cosmetics Mellow Grove and Midnight Serenade. I hadn’t experienced any terrible product this year, only bad decisions, like buying AGAIN an Hourglass Holiday face palette, like whyyyyyyyyyy?!?!???? Happy New Year ❤❤❤
Hi Victoria, it’s Victoria! My favourite product of the year was the Victoria Beckham Concealer, that formula was just chef’s kiss. As for the worst? Probably the Dior Rosy Glow in Pink Lilac, there is some sort of PH adjustment that makes the most blue and cunty let lilac shade go warm.
@hautemesstom Should we start a petition to stop with the freaking PH adjusters, we’ve all had it officially. I can buy 7 cool pink blushes but I’m buying them because I want to, don’t promise me lilac and give me pink. I’m not colour blind Dior.
Love your pigtails! No lie I have grown my hair out MULTIPLE times just to get those haystack sticky-outie piggies lol Fave product I tried this year: Jones road bronzer (the pink one). I use it 3/5 days to help contour my deepset eyes. Worst: Kosas wet lip oil. Very thick-coating plasticky gloss, no oil in sight.
I tried to love the le vega palette, the formula did blend well but it would crease and fade away within like 1-2 hours with multiple attempts with different primers 😔 her skin tint did slay tho
Have a happy new year! Thanks for your amaaazing videos, Tom! ❤❤ I like the LE eyeshadow colour stories (the green and dark one) but agree that they are not easy to work with. I think her satin shades work well and sparkly shades work well enough but the mattes are patchy and take ages to build - I often end up using a Viseart matte! 😅 Looking forward to seeing you rock some more long hair styles in 2025!
baby girl was baby girling today with those pigtails! best: VB eyeliner in cinnamon, I have copper eyelashes and eyebrows and even if I use a black mascara with it it really just looks at home on my face and is a great formula! worst: merit lip oil, mid for about half the bottle and then I had a massive allergic reaction using it suddenly. foolishly I attempted it TWO MORE TIMES to make sure it was the culprit. they’re highlighter also went off for me so I’m not sure what sort of ticking time bomb is in some of the formulas.
The best for me was the Viseart Siren Entendue (don’t think I got that right) eyeshadow palette. As somebody who kind of gave up on eyeshadow, it’s so easy and beautiful to use! It got me out of my “maybe a little eyeliner with a light wash of neutral color” rut that I was in. Worst was the Sephora brand ultra shine lipsticks. It was just a regular satin lipstick? It was fine? But I was expecting it to be like a gloss stick. It was barely shiny, let alone ultra shiny.
Alicia Archer (who I have to imagine is one of the people you're talking about lol) pronounces Suqqu the way you do, and she's a pronunciation queen, so I think you're in the clear! the Phytosurgence lip balm is actually one of my faves of the year (shock! horror!!!) The first time or two that I tried it I also thought it was drying out my lips, but idk after that something changed and it started working great for me. something about it compels me to actually reapply when I'm normally TERRIBLE about keeping my lips hydrated. I've thought I lost it once or twice (because I bring it everywhere with me) and I dooooo freak out a little when I can't find it. I call it my emotional support lip balm and it's kind of not a joke 😬 my worst of the year so far is the About Face foundation. I bought it cause I'm a fair-light olive, and the shade is good, but I cannot make that formula do anything good on my skin. I'm gonna keep trying because I have it now and I may as well practice different techniques, but Mob Beauty in G20 gives me just as good of a match and blows it out of the water IMO
I’m so glad the Phyto balms work for you! They seem to work for EVERYONE but me. And yeah the about-face foundation wasn’t for me either! I didn’t have a bad as an experience as you did it seems! The mob one is working better for me so far.
My best was def the LE skin tint ! Worst was the L’Oréal Telescopic mascara, I don’t have sensitive eyes but it irritated the crap out of them, weighed my lashes down and flaked off in such an unpleasant manner. Love your vids, Happy New Year! 🎈
Hi I am a new viewer and I love your style :). My biggest pleasant surprise make up is the new Elf Satin foundation goodness it is a good basic everyday foundation. I also fell in love with the Natasha Denona power foundation
1) I love you in pigtails you look adorable. 2) I’m also not big on body sprays but my mom got some for me. I have found that spraying them in my hair is preferable to my skin. I spray one pump over my head and let it dissipate down. In case you have more body sprays and you don’t want them to go to waste ☺️
Best product of the year for me was (as much as I know it's Chaaaarlotte and it's over popular item) Pillow Talk lipstick and pencil combo. I have light complection and thick lips and I believe this is the best nude lipstick I've ever owned. The worst one... I realized I like all of the purchases I made this year but there is a partially dissaponting one. Huda Icy Nude palette has one pressed gliter and two very soft shimmery metallic that basically piss me off. I wore one of them the other day and when I checked myself on the mirror, it had streaky bits and looked awful. Lots of fall out when applied and I am thinking the only way to wear them right is probably just glitter glue and pack them with a brush. Other methods haven't worked. I just wish it had more regular metallic or glitter shades, it would be so a much better palette. Happy years, everyone! 🎉💜💚 I wish everyone a lucky and happy year.
I had a similar experience with a Maybelline waterproof mascara! It would take using a cleansing balm, micellar water & a regular cleanser, and I'd still feel like pulling my eyelashes out just to get the residue off!
@@sweetsweetcoffee I knew it had to be close to being long enough for the extensions! I just saw the picture they posted yesterday and I’m so excited to see it in a video!!!
YAY! When hair is long enough to pull back into fun styles!!!! This look is giving: intellectual, philosophical beauty GURU!!!! Next Year, I'm looking forward to that Lisa Eldridge Skin Tint and the Victoria Beckham Concealer....wayyyyy deeeeeep into next year lol Thank you for this video, charming as always! Happy new year and Fabulous new profile pic!!!! 🥂🎆💄
My least favorite : Fenty We're Even Concealer: dried up, cracked, and had too much reflectiveness/shine. Favorite favorite!!!!-------> Farah Homidi Concealer: as an all over, lighter side of light-to-medium coverage foundation. And a Lisa Eldridge Lipstick that was out of stock forever that was finally restocked: a true mid-tone-cool/neutral Brown, satin finish, called Meet Me in Berlin.
Hi Tom, Happy New Year!🎉 Just food for thought- I have a brow pen that seemed to always dry out super quick, until I was told to stand it with the pen end at the top. Apparently, the part that draws the liquid up starts at the bottom, the opposite end of the felt tip. Since doing this, my brow pen has lasted many MONTHS! Before, it use to start drying up after like 2 months. Great video and all the happiness in 2025 💕
*does not layer mascaras* says the Victoria using 4 different priming and finishing powders! Lol 😂 I’m actually the same, can’t be bothered and will do the most with complexion. I just love you, thank you for keeping my spirits up during this tough holiday season 💜💜
Worst: Fenty ease drop stick (sits on top of skin, ew) & unfortunately, Phytosurgence bronzer. I still cannot get it to pick up on a brush. Wrote to them, used their tips & still no pickup, very sad b/c color looks fucking perfect. Best: haus labs concealer & maybelline build-a-brow. It’s my comment, I get two.
30:01 this is exactly what I felt about the Missha perfect cover bb cream 😭 first and last time I ever wore it lol a scent THAT strong and lingering in any product is so unnecessary
My favorites this year are the Gucci mascara, MOB Beauty Southern Goth palette, Rhode peptide lip tint in espresso, and Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua Fresh. Runner up to Salt New York best case concealer.
Such a fun video. My worst was the brown elf tubing mascara, I’m a fan of other tubing mascaras and thought this might be a good budget option but it flaked and irritated my eyes 😢
i genuinely thought you'd love the lisa eldridge eyeshadows because you seem to like similar eyeshadow formulas that i do lolol i will admit part of the love is for lisa herself but i also use her eyeshadows almost daily because i like that it builds slowly and blends well since im usually SUPER messy with my makeup application
Victoria! I totally agree with you on Lisa Eldridge products - I do like suqqu shadows and blushes (but with the caveat that not all are created equal.. some are whatever and some are gorgeous) I haven’t tried their complexion stuff cause it’s tricky to shade match and it’s such a pain to get in the US (selfridges really really upped shipping prices now so I don’t see myself getting any suqqu for the foreseeable future cause they don’t wow me that much and like I mentioned their stuff is either phenomenal or meh and I’m not paying an arm and a leg to get meh )
@ I believe if under 300 it’s 30 (not including fees etc) BUT their unlimited shipping used to be 50 for free shipping for a year (as long as your cart was 100 dollars .. now it’s 100 (I think ) for the unlimited shipping (cart has to be 100) so went up majorly
I think the LE favorable bias is based on her wonderful personality and exceptional work as an artist. Also, if we purchase a luxury product, we want to be able to feel we made a good decision. I purchased her foundation, an eyeshadow palette, 2 lip liners and 3 lipsticks. Sadly, so, so, sadly, I passed most all of it to my niece and binned the rest. The only other brand as a whole that I have been extremely disappointed in is CTilbury. Thank you, Tom, for your integrity and for helping us understand brand loyalty ALWAYS benefits the brand, but not always the buyer. Happy 2025, and you look sooooo hot in your new extensions!!!!! 🩷🌸🐝
She is a lovely personality but in her brand she has an "opinion"/clear vision for her products meaning you either love it or you hate it, which I respect. Her foundation?I hate it.Her tint?I love. Her cleanser?I hate. Her velvets?I found my favorite shades even though it s not an easy formula to work with.her shadows?meh.her lipliner?I love. So I respect that not every product is made for me but that s the beauty in different brand offerings and different brands!❤
Hi Tom! My least favorite product of the year by FAR is the Enko Hyaluronic PH Lip Balm. I don’t want to trash a small indie brand, but God as my witness, the chemical taste was SO AWFUL. The individual multichrome shadows are fantastic, but I feel like I have PTSD from that frigging balm.
Can you remind me your thoughts on the Mario matte formula? I’ve been tempted by their neutral matte palette and I know we prefer the same type of matte formulas (Viseart, ND)
I don't like the LE eyeshadows either. It's unfortunate because I love so much about them. The color stories, the packaging, the overall thoughtfulness that clearly went into them. And then I tried it :-(
Hmmm my best and worst? For worst the first thing that comes to mind is the Biore Aqua UV sunscreen. I remember liking it years ago, but when I repurchased it this year I just could NOT stand the fragrance of it. Ugh, horrid. I gave it away to my sibling immediately. Best would be… hm… idk maybe the merit complexion stick? I had fallen out of love it with, but then started applying it with a duofiber brush and loved it so much more. So maybe it’s really the brush that’s the hero here lol
I’m not a body spray girl. At all. I ordered the same ones from B&BW. 😂 the Delina one was ok. The rest? Oof! And that Santal one was a literal CRIME 😂
Number 1 product was a tie between the Natasha denona concealer and the ole henrikson lip balm, I was late to the game trying both but now I love the concealer use it as an all over complexion product it saves me so much time! The ole henriksen is the only balm I’ve tried that actually heals my lips, as someone whose are chronically dry and peeling. The worst product was the ouai hair gloss, did absolutely NOTHING and a complete waste of 34 bucks for me. Also link to the glasses if possible??? 👀👀
The best product I tried this year is the Vieve Skin Nova primer. It's not a new new product but I tried it for the first time just after new years 2024 and it was the standout of the year for me. It really reminds me of the gold version of the Victoria Beckham primer. I repurchased twice this year! The worst product of the year (and probably the worst product of the decade to be honest) were the Patrick Ta highlighter duos. Chalky glittery dusty powder paired with a pan of coconut oil goo to dab on top. Combined they coagulate into a pastey mess that removes all base product underneath and seeps into every fine line, gunks up in any hair that may get stuck in it, and melts down the face like glitter gravy in the heat. Absolutely gross.
Best product of the year = Parnell Cicamanu Serum Cushion Foundation, which I found via Robert Welsh. Worst product = a tie between all the Lisa Eldridge eye palettes and the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Blush Wand, which was a gloopy unsanitary mess 💩
The best product I tried this year was the Gucci glow highlighter in shade 04 Opal Pink. The worst product I tried was the Gucci glow highlighter in the lightest shade 01 Sunrise Gold!!
uhhhh best is probably the nd yucca palette (new to me this year lol) and worst might be the finding ferdinand blushes.... i don't think they are bad bad but ended up buying the whole apres ski collection because i really wanted chilled and then was kind of underwhelmed 😬 and phytosurgence blushes are just my favorite cream blush formula ever so i never reach for ff
My favorite product I tried this year was the Dior single eyeshadow in Beige Mitzah and my worst was probably the viral Milani color fetish matte lipstick. It was just too dry for my lips and looked crusty and chunky. I think my lips are just too dry for any matte lipstick, but I was dumb and tried it because I heard everyone saying it was a "comfortable matte" and other people said they liked it even though they typically don't like matte lipstick. I guess my resolution for 2025 is to stop buying products that I know are categories of products I typically don't like.
I totally agree about Lisa Eldridge. I bought lipsticks from the first two releases then I stopped buying from her. Still love her videos but I don’t get on with her makeup. I was quite disappointed when your secret brand was Suquu because I live in the UK and have never been drawn to any of it. Boring!
I like Lisa's foundation and skin tint. But I've bought 5 of her Velver matte lipsticks, and FOUR of them broke at the base. I have not had that happen with any other lipstick. When it breaks at the base, you have to basically toss it. And those lipsticks are too expensive for that. Her stuff is not as perfect as a lot of revieweers make it out to be. It's the main reason I never tried the eyeshadow.
The skin tint from Lisa Eldridge is so good, I can’t wait to use it up in my no buy 🥹 I haven’t been excited like this for a complexion product in a very long time

lol GURL I posted on IG that it’s going to be a few videos before the new hair appears! 😂
@hautemesstom I saw the posts but any words that may have been written my brain didn't see! 🥲🖤
@ 😂😂😂
fav product 8s definitely tge vivacious red gloss! Irineda red gloss is my least favourite it was way too pigmented :/
I don't like the LE eyeshadows either. It's unfortunate because I love so much about them. The color stories, the packaging, the overall thoughtfulness that clearly went into them. And then I tried it :-(
The Lisa Eldridge skin tint may be my best of the year too. Worst? The guerlain lip balms. Just no moisture or color to redeem them.
The MERIT stick really is so so gorgeous under the right circumstances
I buy the CG Lashblast waterproof in the two pack 😂 🤣 I tell my partner grab the "orange tube" anytime he stops at the store.
oooh my best was def the nyx pro fix stick in pink, worst was the rituel de fille mascara which i found goopy and just so unpleasant to work with
I didn’t even know you tried the Rdf mascara!
I’m not a body spray girl. At all. I ordered the same ones from B&BW. 😂 the Delina one was ok. The rest? Oof! And that Santal one was a literal CRIME 😂
I was like “ I immediately need to find a 13 year old girl to give these to” 😂
Also now ordered a 70$ concealer
For my almost 50 under eyes. Thanks Tom… I think ;) 😂
Unfortunately these are “real” glasses from Vince camuto that I got through my eye dr!
@ noooo so cute on you though!! 😭
I like suqqu blushes and lip products. The rest don't work for me or aren't my preference in makeup.
Best…that concealer brush from bk beauty/angie hot and flashy.
Worst…hourglass loose powder. It realllly stings my eyes.
I’ve heard the vieve compared to the VB primer many times and when I asked on insta what brands I should checkout vieve seems to be the popular one.
And thank god I didn’t get those Patrick Ta highlighters
Best product of the year = Parnell Cicamanu Serum Cushion Foundation, which I found via Robert Welsh. Worst product = a tie between all the Lisa Eldridge eye palettes and the Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Blush Wand, which was a gloopy unsanitary mess 💩
The best product I tried this year was the Gucci glow highlighter in shade 04 Opal Pink. The worst product I tried was the Gucci glow highlighter in the lightest shade 01 Sunrise Gold!!
So weird how different that first shade seems to be!!
uhhhh best is probably the nd yucca palette (new to me this year lol) and worst might be the finding ferdinand blushes.... i don't think they are bad bad but ended up buying the whole apres ski collection because i really wanted chilled and then was kind of underwhelmed 😬 and phytosurgence blushes are just my favorite cream blush formula ever so i never reach for ff
I KNOW BUYING A WHOLE COLLECTION FOR ONE ISNT A GOOD CHOICE BUT I AM NOT KNOWN TO MAKE GOOD CHOICES LOL
I’ve been meaning to swatch beige mitzah in person for the last 3 years lmao
I totally agree about Lisa Eldridge. I bought lipsticks from the first two releases then I stopped buying from her. Still love her videos but I don’t get on with her makeup.
I was quite disappointed when your secret brand was Suquu because I live in the UK and have never been drawn to any of it. Boring!
The worst product I tried this year was the Charlotte Tilbury brightening powder. Overhyped. Terrible. Never buying it again.
Interesting that Lisa Eldridge love Suqqu! 😂
😂 it’s ALL CONNECTED
aaaaaaah the little pig tails
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I like Lisa's foundation and skin tint. But I've bought 5 of her Velver matte lipsticks, and FOUR of them broke at the base. I have not had that happen with any other lipstick. When it breaks at the base, you have to basically toss it. And those lipsticks are too expensive for that. Her stuff is not as perfect as a lot of revieweers make it out to be. It's the main reason I never tried the eyeshadow.
😊👍
The skin tint from Lisa Eldridge is so good, I can’t wait to use it up in my no buy 🥹 I haven’t been excited like this for a complexion product in a very long time
