The fact that amethyst, whose all for bending rules, told him that it wasn't a good idea should be grounds for concern.
to be fair being stupid about body stuff is a mistake shes made before, so it really fits her big sister role to try and warn against Steven making similar mistakes.
It's also great she's the one that told him not to stretch his body too much. You just KNOW she has tried it before.

Dude was obsessed with the marriage chapters in the book he read, he has a wedding planner on hand, and he's quick to propose when they're older, so yes. He has a bit of an obsession with finding his forever love lol, it's actually something they address a little bit. I wish we could have a mini series of his therapist visits
Fun Fact: The funny thing about Steven's Birthday is that Zach Callison, his voice actor, gets to use his real voice instead of pretending to be younger. Also Rebecca Sugar confirmed Steven's birthday is August 15, the same as her brother's :)

So...if you pay attention, steven stopped physicly ageing at age 8...so I think the reason Connie was so surprised was she thought steven was a few years younger then her only to find he's 2 years older...that would be shocking to most people.

@@genevievegalvan_The only reason his body adapted to his actual age in the future is because he started to become mature all throughout the later half of the series. Pearl stated that his body adapts to his state of mind, if you rewatch season 1 and 2 he still pretty much has the personality of a young kid. He only started to mature after learning the horrendous actions of his mom.
Steven's line of "What does that make me? First Boy?" was basically hime indirectly admitting he wants to marry Connie.
Steven has perfect pitch! He was able to identify that the sound of Peridot's hand drill was a C. Just another tiny detail they threw in to make him even more interesting
I think all Gems may have perfect pitch and be musically inclined once they're exposed to the concept - Peridot picked it up immediately. Crystals/gems have very regular atomic structure and will resonate to sounds at the right pitch the way a musical string or a tubular instrument like a flute or pipe will.
We're coming up to one of peridot's best lines in the whole series can't wait for the season finale

Gem's adaptation to gravity that peridot mentioned is the reason that the gems were wearing safety vests in the episode where they were looking for Malachite in the ocean. Since they are not suspended by water like humans, they would just sink to the bottom of the ocean like they were freefalling, just like ruby was walking in the bottom of the pool of Keystone Motel instead of swimming like Steven.
Oh, I never noticed that! Yeah, you're right, they never shown Gems swimming, they mostly just walk on the floor or flouting on something like rafts, that's so cool!

We have seen that Greg owns and wears other clothes in various episodes. He dresses up to have dinner with Connie's parents and in the episode "Winter Forcast" we see him try on the various outfits he has in the back of his van. The tanlines are just confirmation that he isn't wearing the same thing all of the time when we don't see him. I think he's just usually wearing that one outfit because it's easier/cheaper to keep wardrobes limited and simple in animation. The show has nodded at this common animation practice a couple times, like when the gems are helping Steven fold his laundry and it's just a huge pile of identical shirts.
I just recently subbed to the channel because I am loving the reactions to one of my favorite series of all time and had no idea that this was posted yesterday!!! Happy to be fully caught up as you explore the rest of the series and hopefully the movie/spin-off show!

The handpad was what activated the chair and computer on the moonbase (since it recognized Steven it would seem to imply that Rose Quartz--without question the entity identified by the system--was a pretty big deal back in the day, perhaps the governor or top administrator of the Earth colony). Steven picked up the "doodad" and asked what's it for, and Peridot abruptly told him to put it back. She at least seems to know what it is, and that's why she's taken it.
Some were speculating that Garnet's visor reflection went to pink when she grabbed Peridot to show that it was mostly Ruby driving the bus at that moment, but the Crewniverse said that was just a coincidence.
I can't wait to see you guys react to the season finale :DDD
Steven's growth in these few seasons is my favourite part.

This is actually season 3! It's just the story continues from season 2. These episodes was part of a event called "steven bomb" and they put out new episodes but the way cartoon network ordered the seasons they didn't have time to end the story from season 2. So it rolled over to season 3!

i think peridot might be autistic, it never specifys anything but ive watched this entire show all 5 seasons probably 18 times and i still learn something new every time i watch. but she doesnt pick up on most cues like an average person. it could be that she is a gem and doesnt understand but my autistic brother reacts alot like peridot which is why i wonder
Peridot is still thinking in terms of how she can help Homeworld and her Diamond with her discoveries. Prior to Marble Madness, she couldn't even conceive of Gems fighting against each other or rebelling against their "flawless" leaders. While the Diamond Authority obviously had to have given Peridot *some* kind of report about the Crystal Gem Rebellion between Marble Madness and The Return, we don't know how much was left out, particularly about a certain incident involving Rose Quartz. Point being, Peridot probably has very little idea of how much Rose Quartz meant to GAP, and by this time GAP themselves are virtually aliens to contemporary Homeworld Gems.
Rebecca Sugar has said she doesn't really consider any of the Gems neurotypical, but yeah Peridot and also Pearl are found particularly relatable by many autistic people. Pearl also struggles with social cues more than your average person/Gem.

I do believe that there are 5 seasons of Steven Universe, then the movie, then Steven Universe Future
I don't think Steven has any actual control over his aging, he can't force himself to grow older or younger physically on command, it's all tied to how old he feels
What he did here instead was shapeshifting, stretching his body out to force himself to be about as big/tall as a 14 year old Steven probably should be
this however is something he does consciously on command and has to put effort into keeping up, thus him shrinking down to baby-size once he can't keep it up anymore
you can tell that he merely shrank rather than changing back into a full baby (as in, also mentally changing back into a baby) because he could clearly understand and listen to what Connie was telling him, that's also why Garnet pulling faces or the car ride didn't manage to calm him down, because he wasn't just a fussy baby, he's a 14 year old Steven who's completely aware of the fact that he just shrank down into baby form in front of his friend whom he'd tried to act/look older for all day long, he was having a crisis about not growing like a normal human and now having gone the exact opposite way, it makes sense why he was inconsolable until Connie explained that it didn't matter to her and that she'd still be there for him even if he was stuck like that now
This is season 3. The answer ended season 2. They just continues the story from season 2. Its how cartoon network ordered the seasons. Hulu didnt mess up the order past season 1.

Because her last order as a diamond was not to speak about her as one again. She physically couldn't tell Steven, even though she wanted to. And I don't think so on the hand activation. He did the same for Nephrites shipe.

When fans were discussing the various theories between seasons two and three, I posted how Greg told Steven that Rose Quartz "gave up everything" to rebel against Homeworld and protect Earth, implying that she had to have some kind of status, greater than what might be expected from an ordinary Quartz warrior, to be able to inspire other Gems to her side and eventually form an army, and to make Greg's words have real meaning. Rose also seemed far too OP to be just a warrior, so I proposed that perhaps she was the one originally responsible for setting up the colonial development of an "alien" world like Earth, which would have affected her even more once she fell in love with our planet's life-forms ("they just can't forgive themselves"), more so than if she was just a visiting Amethyst- or even Jasper-level Quartz with little or no responsibility for the Homeworld scheme shown in ICHBG.
