- Ecu Connect is and App and bluetooth interface which connects your car's ECU to your phone or tablet (Android or Apple). But this is no ordinary interface. Combine this with an EcuTek Tune and controlling your car from your phone is as easy as tapping the screen. Fire Nitrous; adjust launch RPM and traction control; on the fly map switch; adjust boost per map and many many more.
Does this device constantly broadcast to pair once you've already paired with either a phone or tablet? Security is a big concern for me with things connected to my car, especially if it has ecu access.

I have to remap so many cars . Do i need a licence for any car i connect to ecutek? Or just one licence for alllll
Why cant you do all these things through pro ECU with the cable (race rom) on laptop? Easy menu to see performance figures like 0-60 etc... I have your logging package on evo x and having just purchased the cable I dont want to fork out on the bluetooth. Would like some of these features like in the app.

If you have this do you still need a boost Gauge and Air/fuel gauge? Or can you use this App to replace those gauges.

Is there any real reason to get this on a car that hasn't been tuned? Got a G37 with a sri and an axle back right now. Would I be able to tweak the throttle control and traction control with noticable effects with this setup?
I'm afraid unless you have an EcuTek tune, you can't control aspects of the car, as it is the tune that gives you this access via the app. Without a tune, the unit is just watching the ECU and broadcasting what it sees with no two way comms. With a tune you could control the two aspects you have highlighted as we support the G37 models. One caveat though, if it is an early G37 there is not enough room in the ROM of the ECU to allow us to put RaceROM on and you need our RaceROM to enable the two way comms.
I'm running an android head unit, and found that I can't connect through it. Would be nice to be able to use my head unit with all these features rather than using a dedicated tablet. Tho I'm not sure if the issue is due to the android head unit or the bluetooth ecutek. From research i found that its a bluetooth connectivity issue, or security issue for connectivity. Any chance, a work around is being developed for this issue?
Hi, I'm afraid we are not working with any head unit manufacturers at the moment. A lot of guys use a tablet mount to get around this.

I run a mk3 focus rs running a map already what are you offering me to switch my map apart from an extra cost?
these maps on all cars are very generic nowadays its like there is some teenager in japan writing one map and offering it to all brands. and they regurgitate as there own brand.
as a consumer al your choice nowadays is a brand everything is basically the same even the cost is such as such the same.
ECU Connect does not come with any Maps Leigh. It is designed to interact with the ECU. It's additional features that we talk about later in the video are custom features that you can get once you have an EcuTek Tune. If when you have watched all of the video and none of these features appeal to you, then we're not forcing you to change. We make software, which we sell to a worldwide dealer network of tuning shops. They then use our software to create tune files to program into the cars we support. What we would say is that if you could see what these bedroom tuners do to the maps and call them so called 'tunes' you would never put them in your car. Our advice is to always choose to get your tune done by either a company who you know has a pedigree in the business or someone who is recommended to you and you feel you have enough indicators to trust them. We have been in the business of reverse engineering ECU's since 1999. We have worked with the likes of ProDrive, Mitsubishi UK, Mountune, Subaru America, Subaru South Africa, International Motors/Subaru UK, Edelbrock, all of whom have trusted us to deliver software that enables them to warranty tunes that they supply to their customers. So we know how to reverse engineer an ECU, we know how to write software which allows our dealers to create tune files and tune cars. Unfortunately there are too many people out there who want to pay the least amount of money to make their car go faster...if it does they claim that you don't need to pay a fortune because they went faster for £x. That creates a market for these guys who only half know what they are doing, who cobble something together from files they have also bought over the internet and learn as they go. But when the owner of the car finds something goes wrong or their engine blows up or something happens that costs them money, they are the first to blame everyone else but themselves. They are happy to pay £30,000+ on their car and then put something which costs £400 or less into that car to control it. Trust us Leigh, everything is not all the same out there. Buy from us if you want. Don't buy from us if you don't want. We know we deliver a quality product to our dealers. Go and talk to them and make your own judgement.

Can you get this for HONDA civic Ep3 if due do a ECU to go with it.
If you swop to an FN2 ECU then yes, it will work with it.

That's up to your tuner's backlog and speed of work. Depending on the car and the mods a good tune set up and enabling of custom inputs in ECU Connect should take no longer than a day to set up. He may have been waiting for parts or encountered some issues.
