After filming the video I also tried some 6-inch 17-hole "Lotfancy" sanding discs from Amazon. The outer 8 holes on those discs line up with holes on the Bosch sanding pad, so those too should be reasonably good for dust collection. Link for those interested: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07P7ZXG18/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o06_s00 That said, I have found I really like the Mirka Abranet discs.
This is exactly the information I was looking for. Thanks for sharing! FWIW: I love the 3M Cubitron disks. A little expensive but are comparable to the Merka disks.
I just ordered the GET75-6N and a hard pad from Amazon for $333.00 after checking out a lot of videos and reviews i have a porter cable 6" random orbit sander that also makes a good polisher. The tool still works good at 3.7 amps but of course no turbo mode plus the pad was falling apart. I decided it was time for what should be a pretty big upgrade. Is that the Veritas work bench I almost bought six or seven years ago for some reason I couldn't get a final price from them so I got the complete Solberg elite 2000 package for just over $2000.00. The way prices have shot up in the past few years I don't say cheap or cheaper I just say cost less lol.
The bosch get 6" outperformed the festool rotex in every regard on a job I was on. Same user and identical material and both sanders had mirka abranet disc's.
@OptLab yup. Even static build up with the bosch was better. The problem with them is with constant (very) heavy use, the drive needs periodic work but is easily accessed
I haven’t seen anyone else test this sander. Thank you. Always festoon and Mirka. I will say I recently tested some of the Mirka abranet sanding discs. They are really good, but expensive. I mean really good. Especially if your workpiece is not flat.
just a fyi for anyone interested in this or the festool rotex: I had the 5 inch rotex and I hated it, I could not control it in any mode at any speed on any material, paid 900 Canadian and thought this isn't even worth half the price, it would leave gauges and pigtails in both modes due to me not being able to control it even using the "balance" technique that festool shows in their videos, so I returned it. I got the Bosch 6 inch and this thing is 100x better, easy to control in either mode, and using it in random orbit actually leave a nice finish even on epoxy (which I find is difficult material to get a nice finish) I also have a festooll ets ec 150 but if I didn't, I really think this Bosch could be your only sander if you could get over the fact that its heavy and requires two hands even in Random orbit mode. one thing to mention is the sound is louder on the Bosch than the rotex. this sander really is a treat to use.
Hi, very nice sander very powerful my biggest disappointed vibration after everytime I use my hands tingling, wrists pain, fingers are mums can't sleep night. Still pain in my hands vibration especially holding motor right hand horrible pain. Very powerful for the oak wood. Be carefully for your hands.
The Makita version of the Bosch GET75 doesn’t get great reviews. The Mirka sanders are great but are better at finer finishing than rapid removal so yeah, the Bosch or a Rotex.
Have you tried polishing with the new Bosch? I'm curious to know how well it can polish because I need an orbital sander and a polisher and I was told this can perform both tasks.
Does your Bosh sander want to fight you at all? I just purchased the 6” and I’m having issues with it fighting me. To the point where I won’t turn the speed up to 6
Aggressive, low grit abrasives require you to "hold on tight". It's rare that I use anything courser than 120 with a ROS. I have other tools for stock removal.
White guy with a 6-in it's a pain in the ass to find paper at that point you might as well just using edger Bosch makes a 5 inch it's the same freaking thing
how is it a pain to find paper? you're not looking in the right places, Home Depot isn't where you want to be buying sand paper anyways , or anywhere else that doesn't sell 6 inch paper

if you use net sanding discs you shoud get a velcro protector cause the net discs are very hard on the velcro of the pad
@@Leah_foxgirl good point. I did do that.
You should give the 3M Cubitron 2 net disks a crack. I've been using them for a while and nothing else comes close.
@@tomemancagreed, lately I've been using exclusively cubotron or Diablo sandnet

Thanks for the direct experience comparison!
Thanks for the review
I have used various sanders also, and have settled on Bosch as a good quality sander. Seems to be better than Dewalt and Makita at least a little.
I would suggest 3m Xtract Cubitron ii paper. Its a game changer.
I'll look for it.
Thanks for the tip. Those pads look amazing. Just ordered some.

I have not tried polishing, but I think it would work fine for the task.
get some cubitron 2 sandpaper........ absolute best damn sandpaper out there ,period .
Quality video 👍, and the bit with the instructions was absolutely priceless 🤣🤣 I will be buying g the Bosch based on this so thank you. Regards Del

In turbo mode, you definitely have to hang on tight.

Is there a discount code? Kaiser20? Keep the woodworking reviews coming!
Not there yet, but stay tuned...

yeah well they discontinued the 5” model
how is it a pain to find paper? you're not looking in the right places, Home Depot isn't where you want to be buying sand paper anyways , or anywhere else that doesn't sell 6 inch paper
Yelp, Festool or Bosch...Everything else is a waste of time & money.
